You dont need to install the driver if you can connect right away.

This is a wifi receiver, meaning if your home router can broadcast 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz then on you will able to connect to either one of it. If your home router only able to broadcast 2.4Ghz then u will only be able to connect to 2.4Ghz.

There are no guarantee that you will get full speed via wifi as there are alot factor such as distance within your device & router / your wifi router & wifi receiver capabilities / interference signal around your house(eg your neighbour wifi) / your wifi router settings etc. Read the description as i already mention this is the cheapest solution to get connect to 5Ghz wifi. What is the average speed you are getting?

@@shaike49 test with LAN cable can get how much? Well you can try changing the channel of your wifi & the power output settings(only do it if you know what you are doing), and pls understand my reply above.

it depends on your router configuration and also the range from your device to the router. It is normal because your router only support 2.4Ghz.

I bought and installed the same dual band adapter in my pc. It detects both the 2.4 & 5g bands, but can only connect to 2.4. When I select the 5g network, it says cannot connect to this network. What could be wrong?
1st make sure 5ghz is in range, 2nd you may try to change the 5ghz channel to another channel and try again..

@@novicediyer3441 you can always revert back the channel u set earlier, just take a photo of the channel number so you change it back, asking u to change channel is a part of troubleshooting to if it is channel issue which cause you cant connect using this wifi adpater.

How do you get 144Mbps,390Mbs and 433Mbps network ? I can only get 86Mbps. Please answer. I use the same adapter but without antenna and im using 5Ghz connection too but only getting 86Mbps speed on adapter properties
U may change the wifi channel on your router and test out which channel give u the best results or you are too far away from the router. You can also force the connection to connect 5Ghz network only.

you can still use the external adapter without disabling the built in wifi adapter but you will see wifi 1 & wifi 2 in the wifi list which is kind of annoying.
