Adam is spot on. If you focused on the picture the creators were painting it was a cohesive, tragic and a fulfilling story about wanda coming to terms with her grief. People passed over the narrative for Easter eggs and speculation. So much so ppl didn't really ask themselves at what point in the show would some of those theories make for a good narrative or logical story progression in a tv show format. I would've been pissed if that's how they introduced Reed Richards, they deserve more than that. But the story of Wanda and Vision was stellar and that's what this show was about.

    • @TempestLA
      @TempestLA 3 года назад +97

Not only does Reed (or other cameo) deserve more, but so does this story.
If John Krasinsky had showed up as Reed for a two minute cameo, all the discussion today would be about him, the Fantastic Four, who they were casting in the other roles, blah blah blah blah blah. Instead, we are focused on this fantastic 9 episode story arc and what it means for the characters that were here all along.
The series deserves that, not to be overshadowed by a publicity stunt that has nothing to do with this show.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Agatha only lost because she ran out of patience and gave away the rune spell earlier which is similar to storyline in a Scooby Doo episode. 🤦
Haywards character is a mess, the only real bad thing he did (apart from the ott ending) was lie about Wanda stealing Vision, which makes no sense in the story.
Wanda is already holding a town hostage, so that's all Hayward needs, he doesn't have to lie about Vision as he could just say we have the real Vision here and want to use him to stop Wanda which would not make him bad.
It doesn't make sense that Darcy says to him that he's going to Jail cause she didn't see him shoot... but why did he shoot?... it makes no sense as if he didn't shoot what could he go to jail for? 🤔
Quicksilver being a nobody who just happens to look like Quicksilver?! 😡
Because of these things I didn't think the series was all that to be honest, they had episodes that had no story and the episodes with story felt rushed. 😞

@@iwrotewords510 Hayward was trying to weaponize Vision under the guise of breaking him down, which they stated in the show was against his Will which made it illegal activity, he took advantage of Wanda entering the picture and was trying to both use her to help reactivate Vision and blame her for it. Sad to hear you feel that way about the show though, I felt it was a great way to dive deeper into a character and a great story about moving on through grief. But I guess this avenue of story telling isn't for everyone.

As far as Wanda knows, they are gone, just as Vision is gone. I think that she is surprised when she hears the call from Tommy in her mind. I think that is going to be the impetuous for her searching out Strange, as opposed to him searching her out to stop her. Or it may be a combination of the two; Wanda is reckless in trying to find her kids, and Strange is attracted to her actions and realizes there is a bigger game afoot and joins forces with her.

Seems suspicious that we didn’t SEE her kids disappear. Even if the point of that scene was to see her accept her grief and say goodbye to that memory of Vision, it also seemed like a misdirect meant to distract us from the kids so we just assume they disappear along with Vision rather than see that they do. Is it actually her kids talking to her at the end? Is she being baited? We’ll find out in Dr Strange 2. And if that doesn’t seem like a potential doorway to the greater MCU than idk what is.

I love this mini series because it's essentially just a character dealing with grief. No crazy crossover event is happening, which is why I think a lot of mainstream fans aren't feeling it. Literally just Wanda dealing with grief with the big battle scene at the end because it is a Marvel superhero property haha. There are hundreds of comics that are just characters dealing with personal issues (all comics, not just Marvel and DC). Like one of my favorite Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) runs is the recent Life of Captain Marvel, where Carol moves back to her hometown to reconnect with her family and deal with some inner demons. And that also leads into the next stories. After this I hope these mini series become more common, I'd love to see all of the characters end up getting more lore to them. This is a genius way to get us to know the characters and care about them more, and still have the movies be focused on big baddies and stuff.

The scene of Wanda saying goodbye to Vision was so damn painful but beautiful to watch. There are so many people in the world, myself included who would love to have a just one brief moment to say goodbye to the one they love one last time.
And as tragic as it is I think the ending was the best possible scenario for Wanda. She unconsciously kidnapped and tormented an entire town of innocent people, and when they all woke up she accidentally started to strangle them with her powers! Yes once she became fully aware of what she was doing she tried to release them all but she still hurt them physically and psychologically. She left more collateral damage in her wake than the Hulk did to that city in Age Of Ultron.
I don’t think she should go to prison but she can’t completely get away with what she did. So exile is the best and only option for her. But now I am super excited to see where her story goes in Spider-man No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2. Also she has chosen a far more beautiful place to exile than Obi-Wan, Yoda and Luke did for theirs.

My wife and I have been looking forward to watching you react to and discuss each episode almost as much as the episodes of WandaVision itself. My favourite part of WandaVision was finding so many other reactors like you guys. I will always be a fan of watching the three of you interact. This show was a lot of firsts for me. First watch party I did online, first time I posted comments and theories, first time I reacted with other fans not living in my house. My favourite part was the sense of community.
My non-saccharine moments are the decade episodes, discovering how talented Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are; the twisted teacher-student relationship between Wanda and Agatha. And episode 8. My fave. No question.

I have a strong feeling that the multiverse in Doctor Strange won’t be alternate earths, but instead a continuation of that trippy sequence we saw in the first one. So stuff like the Dark Dimension, the mirror realm, the quantumverse maybe, and then whoever has the kids, so mephisto or nightmares realm. It’s gonna be a multiverse of twisted dimensions rather than a traditional multiverse.

That is a very interesting point: Evan Peters' casting, the whole "I know a guy" when it comes to the aerospace engineer, "Who is Ralph", "Why is Dottie not named on the board, why does she suspect Wanda & Vision in Episode 2"... these are all things put there to spur fans to tweet & talk about _WandaVision_ every week. Which is good in a marketing fashion, but it does sort of take away a little from the show.

I like the casting of Evan Peters because instead of relying on Wanda to show & tell us what was happening and what she felt WE were feeling it with her.
When she opened the door, we (the majority of viewers, anyway) immediately recognized him as Pietro and we also felt amazed, confused, elated, excited, and unsure. Then we go through the same roller coaster of emotions: Confusion as he says things he shouldn't know or does things Pietro wouldn't and betrayal when he's a real asshole about Vision.
It was definitely a meta choice, kind of like an emotional short cut to put us in Wanda's shoes.
I also like that none of the Reed Richards, Mephisto, & etc speculations were correct. Wanda got to tell her own story, about herself and her grief, rather than just be a vehicle to introduce (or be controlled by) a man.

@@sheridanselby8231 Thank you! I wasn't sure if I was articulating myself well but I really think that without our familiarity with Peters that particular story thread might not have even worked (or been included).

I actually really love that WandaVision almost felt like its own standalone project and they didn't use it as a device to introduce MAJOR characters (in retrospect it's ridiculous to think a tv show would introduce the x-men or fantastic 4 into the mcu tbh they're definitely saving that for a movie)

I love how the last episode stands on its own and also how this series settled the problem or the issue by itself, not involving other characters from The Avengers to resolved it. I'm also glad that I didn't get my hopes up for Dr. Strange or Mephisto cameo in this series because all these theories hyping the show are making our hopes up that these cameos will do occur. Besides all these theories never came close (maybe some of it, somehow) to the actual episodes, to my surprise a lot of people are still convinced. *face palm*
I also think its fair how the last episode showcased a bit of wanda's powers fighting Agnes because that's how the story should be, I mean it's her storyline after all. It makes me sad how a lot of people are not happy about the last EP, they're really expecting Dr. Stranger to resolve the case, funny. Also, it's nice to see how wanda accepted her reality about vision, literally the last episode showed us how wanda breaks free from her grief and fully accepted it.
I also want to address that, by Dr. Strange not interfering the fight in this season, wee saw Wand's character development from being hurt and vulnerable to this most powerful being that accepts her truth and embrace it to be more powerful, it's her fundamental.

Most of the reaction videos and videos of the finale I’ve seen are just people going “okay, so theories x, y, and z weren’t answered so the show sucked.” It’s good to see people having nuanced conversations and deal with both the good AND the bad of the finale. Personally, I loved it, and I loved the show as a whole, but I also recognize that the finale, particularly, wasn’t perfect.

The Evan Peters casting was legit Marvel “winking at the camera.” That was them trolling, but everything else was just fanatic fan theory. If they had presented this as a 4-hour movie or released all episodes at once, would we be talking about Monica’s contacts? The weekly format combined with RUclips analysts created a story that wasn’t the story Marvel was telling us.
For Falcon/Winter, I’m purposely staying away from certain channels.

yeah sure they didn't introduce him as wanda's brother, they didn't call him pietro maximoff in 6th episode, they didn't give him superspeed so we could think that it's quicksilver, the showrunners didn't tell us in the interviews that Kevin Feige, wanted to ensure that Peters' appearance "made sense," and wasn't there for no reason. HAHA THEY DID. They made us think that it's something serious and not just a joke. And what we got? A boner joke? wtf

Evan Peters casting as "Fietro" is brilliant, and here is why. While it made many of us theorize the potential multi-verse implications, what it really did is keep us in the illusion by casting someone we could believe is the actual Quick Silver. Agatha's intent to trick Wanda into believing it was her brother was actually a meta trick played on the audience.

I think it's very important to remember Feige was asked "Do casual viewers of the movies have to keep up with the TV series to understand the movies?" and his answer was no. It is also important to remember that Feige keeps things simple, in line with Disney's wishes, rewards his actors and rarely likes to play with things he did not create.
With all those points in mind:
-An Avengers level villain was never going to be introduced.
-This show was not going to introduce mutants or the Fantastic 4, both movie-worthy events.
-The MCU was never going to absorb the baggage from FOX's X-Men, especially their timeline.
-Mephisto would be complicated to explain.
-Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany weren't going to take a backseat to other characters.
-This was setup, but also not a crucial component for Doctor Strange 2 and to a lesser extent, Spiderman 3.

I wonder if it is the type of magic. Feige said (pre Fox merger) that Wanda had an unlearned unrefined same version of Strange’s magic. Now that they can go full Scarlet Witch, I’m wondering if they’re going to distinguish between learned (Strange) and inherent (Wanda) magic.
