What a lovely lady she seems , so full of sunshine .
What a joyful, interesting discussion, thank you both for making today beautiful!
Hello Joan, how are you doing?
This interview was awesome. I have never heard of this craft, and her work is stunning. Thank you for having her on as your guest, it was very interesting. ❤❤
Karen, you have the most talented people in fiber arts! Thank you so much for hosting this guest. Also I appreciate the comments by you and Meredith about balance and taking breaks to recharge.
What a talented, articulate lady. A gem of an interview🥰. Thank you Karen
You did such a good job interviewing! Good questions and great answers!
Fascinating what can be done with thread. Beautiful work thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
thank you so Much Karen for interviewing Meredith i truly love this style
"As an artist you get to play God a little bit"
"Having kids has taught me I have to say no"
The key to balance is subtraction.
Great interview highlighting life skills taught through the process of pursuing our art. Thank you Karen
I LOVE the new background and especially the really clear picture on this video!
Another fascinating interview. Makes one's brain spin with "I wonder..." Thanks again for sharing this. Awesome!
Thread sculptures are amazing!! An also your new background just lovely!!!
All I can say is, "WoW". Thank you for sharing this with us.
Such a talented young woman, glad I come across this episode
Thank you for this interview. Amazing. I love it!
Meredith's work is breathtaking! As I listened to her speak about future projects and admired all her individual and colorful coral pieces, I saw in my mind a masterpiece that could be created of a coral garden of all the different colors and species in one large coral garden. I look forward to following her creative journey. Thank you for a wonderful interview!
Meredith has the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. I’d never heard of this technique and it’s very intriguing. Thank you for another fabulous interview.
Thanks! This was such a fun exploration of a novel thread technique!
Wow. This is SO INCREDIBLE.
Wow. I love this. Its like doodling with thread. She is amazing. Thanks Karen.
Absolutely love her designs!
Love listening to her talk, and the beautiful art work she does! There's really nothing to compare! Great interview, and very inspiring!
How fantastic was that! Her work is so original and delightful - no wonder people want to purchase a piece of art for display in their homes.
Great interview and technique too, thanks.
What a fantastic interview. Thank you Karen . Love the new set too.
Wow! Never heard of this!! I love her story of how she found this! Isn’t it incredible how we all love so many different things.
I love Meredith's work, absolutely stunning. Thanks for the video, it's the first time I've heard her speak at length about her practice. Keep up the good work, thank you Karen
Beautiful pieces, the sea fans look so real!
I had already come across Meredith's amazing thread sculpture and this interview is FANTASTIC - thank you for this! Her art is amazing! And speaking of balance and renewal, I'm totally swapping out my thread bit tin for a glass thread memory bowl- having a beautiful space for sewing helps me feel refreshed and happy:)
Thanks for sharing this awesome artist with us !
What a delightful interview! I made a scarf for my daughter using wash away stabilizer and a very simple crosshatch pattern. It’s delicate and light . So I can see myself giving the more artistic version a try. Thank you for this !
And what have I been selected for? Is this message really from Karen?
Thank you Karen for featuring Meredith. I am currently enrolled in her class and am loving it. She is so giving of her knowledge and is a delight to speak with.
She was so well spoken. I think one could listen to her read an instruction manual
This was definitely one of my favorites!
What does that mean?
I loved your quilt in the background, great interview
Stunning art!
what a treat...oh, the mind races. oxoxo thank you so very much!!
Always admired Meredith’s work. Thank you
Fascinating! Gorgeous works! Thank you for sharing
Hello Lynn, how are you doing?
The mounting of this art (particularly in relation to selling this art and keeping it from deteriorating) was the most interesting to me. I’ve known people who have pinned paper and textile art to the actual gallery wall (yes! In layers, too!) and wondered how on earth one would eventually be able to manage to build these in sellable sizes and mounts. Really informative!
My most expensive mistake involves thread which I've been storing in jars waiting for the right idea to use it in some way. This interview has given me some thoughts to explore. I am enjoying seeing younger women pursuing a career in textiles. It is hard... especially with children. Balance is an in and out thing. If you're there, it's only for a bit.
Karen great interview! Soo much inspiration thanks! 💃🏻🧵☕️🥰
WOW! I really am gobsmacked. Fabulous work from a wonderful artist (and a fellow Australian). Thank you Karen for this interview. Also love your new studio background.
Great to listen to Meredith in this interview today. As a fellow western Sydney sider we were neighbours before she moved north. I have not seen her work before but it was absolutely amazing. I have made some lace pieces on my home embroidery machine with wash-away and it's an amazing process watching the stitches stay intact when you dissolve the stabiliser. I must look into her works more♥️🇦🇺
Hello Julie, how are you doing?
Interesting interview. I admire her unique skill and can appreciate Meredith's artistic ability. Her craft is not my cup of tea since I love to piece blocks but her work is beautiful and she seems like a very engaging person.
Very fascinating! Thank you! Loved the chat!
Two of my favourite fibre artists together!
I love, love, love your quilt behind you!!!!!
Thanks for this cool Interview!!! I had two realy good idears.
Stunning artwork! I immediately took the free online course that Meredith kindly offers and recommend it to everyone.
I just signed up for one of her classes and i had never heard of her work before lol. Thank you for the great chat!
Thank you, Karen! You continually broaden my textile arts world. Fascinating technique! But my biggest take away was the comments about the myth of finding a balance. So nice to hear, I am not broken, because I have never found that balance. 😅 And P.S. - I love your new studio! Somehow I had missed that you were taking a corner of your bedroom to do your videos all these years!🙀
What a great topic!!!
Those are beautiful!
Karen, you always have the most interesting interviews on your channel! This one was such a delight. I plan to start following her, and perhaps taking classes…if the time difference works out. I have explored this technique a bit through my embroidery machine’s website; wouldn’t it be fun to learn freehand and sew it on my sewing machine?! I think I have more projects going than I have years left to sew. 🤭
Hello lynn, how are you doing?
This is so exciting!
I love the comment about subtraction! I think if we view balance as a journey and a practice we will get farther than viewing it as a destination. You don't set up this perfect "balanced" state and expect it to hum along indefinitely. It's a guiding operating principle that you work toward as you move through life. It's a living working tool not some magical state that you can get into and keep!
I love this artis and her work.! I first saw and learnt about her and her technique 9 years ago on an Australian show called Colour In Your Life. It was a really interesting and lengthy show from her studio and I heartily recomend it if you got curious about her tecnique,
"Double trouble" from England also have some very interesting videoes with this and related techniques. (Also used on garments)
I love doing this kind of work and those are just some supplying you tube videos I ofen look at and get inspired from.
Thank you Karen for finding such a diversity of Artists and presenting them for us.
I saw that as well on RUclips. A guy on a motorcycle rode to see and interview he.
Thank you this is inspiring
Very interesting interview. Meridith's work is so beautiful. If you want to see the work of another artist who uses this technique check out the work of Beth Blankenship who makes amazing vessels with environmental themes.
Your background makes me think of the opening shots of the old Boris Karloff show "Thriller"!
Thank you for this interview Karen. This ADHD brain is so happy! and curious and full of ideas!
Hey all; dopey question. I love these shows so much because they start my imagination engine revving and I'd love to make something similar. My question is: do these sewing/thread artists copyright their work and if I tried to make something like they created, am I infringing on their copyright and would that land me in jail? I am keenly aware that these artists do what they do to make a living and so there is a financial consideration for them if people just replicated their work and especially if it was re-made and then sold onward. Thank you for your help in advance!!

Incredible fascinating
Please give some information on the quilt hanging behind you. Maybe a link to the pattern? Anything? Then I can relax and listen to the interview. :)
Hoping to catch some dungenous crabs
Perfect family balance usually requires hiring an housecleaner.
I like that way you think! Lol
Very interesting
Hello Joyce, how are you doing?
Also, where does one purchase water-soluble fabric? Thanks.
Actually not fabric…..stabilizer. Anywhere machine embroidery supplies are sold. 😊I use it when doing embroidery on bath towels, so I don’t have stabilizer left on the back of the towel.
Look at the brand Sulky stabilizers. Thet have a water soluble one.
Oups! I noticed that Meredith's last name was misspelled on the intro slide in the video at the 0:04 mark ... Woolnaugh instead of Woolnough .
Ouch…oh no
@@JustGetitDoneQuilts You get sooooooo many things so perfectly perfect, a slip up happening once in a while is no biggy! A great lively interview and a beautiful artist!
