2 PCS Ceramic Fiber Insulation Blanket 24" x12" x1" (Thick) Rated to 2600F,Fireproof Insulation, for Forge, Furnace, Foundry, Kiln, Wood Stove, Dishwasher,Pizza Oven,Fireplace,Chimney
These ceramic insulation blankets come in a 2 pack rolled in plastic. Be sure to use a respirator and gloves when working with them, as silica dust/fibers is extremely bad to get in your lungs, and may irritate your skin.
I verified that they measure very close to 24x12 (I'd say they are closer to 1.25 inches thick, but could certainly be compressed down to 1 inch thick).
I subjected them to the flame from a map gas torch (3,700 F) for 15 seconds and there was a very small amount of the material that melted away from the flame (no smoke or flame), which is expected as they are only rated to 2,600 F. But no heat reached the wood table below them and you could barely see the marks cause by the super hot MAP torch, so I'd trust them to the rated 2,600 F.

Cool. Was thinking about making a cooler cover with them, and wrapping it with thin neoprene. Seems to be the best insulation material I can find. Though I'm open to suggestions.

I think Styrofoam has a higher R-value, (and is less expensive, lighter weight, easier to cut.) the real benefit here is the heat resistance, which you hopefully shouldn't need for a cooler. If you want the flexibility I'd also suggest considering fiberglass batt. [or stone wool which has some of the same heat/fire resistance and material flexibility]
