    That shifts really nice compared to our 1206s. Nice tractor!

    Great looking tractor. Seems to shift much easier than my 1086, but I've always thought the throttle location was odd on the 66 series...

    Great video! Makes me miss my old black strip. It was no where near as clean looking as yours though.

    Man that shifts good. We had a 1086 and you nearly had to stop to change gears.

      We got a black stripe 1066 that you have to stop to shift lmao

      You're exactly right about the 86 series shifting issues.

      We had a 1586 and a 1566. Except for when the linkage was worn on the 66, I don’t recall shifting issues with either other than down shifting. But it’s been 30 years now so...

      Our 1086 has horrible shifting too, grinds horribly on every downshift

    Ours needs some new paint. We still use the hell out of ours. Not sure if it was new when we got it, but it was old when I was born (I'm getting close to 40, damn I'm old). You can't read the dials, they're yellowed. Not sure on our hours.

    I have a few questions, 1: does this not have a TA because i can’t really tell where the stick is or whether it’s there, 2: do you have a shutoff other than the throttle because it shutoff without you moving the throttle, and 3 when I was a kid my great uncle had hundreds of old case tractors and he always told my to shift it more like a car where you go into gear throttle up then throttle down shift and so on do you know if there’s a special way to shift these because I see everyone doing it differently.

    No TA or you just don't use it for some reason? With this camera angle I can't see whether the lever is there.
    And did you install some secondary fuel shutoff in the dash? Looks like the engine stopped without pushing the throttle lever all the way left.

    • @bluegoose1000
      @bluegoose1000  4 года назад

      Tony M no TA on this one. It’s a very early 1066 that’s also a retired pulling tractor.

  • @corycooper5100

    I have a question do you need to press the cluth in to go through 1-4 or can you just bump the throttle and change it

    • @bluegoose1000
      @bluegoose1000  Год назад +2

      I always press the clutch to make sure I get a clean and solid shift

    • @OnyxHuber1187
      @OnyxHuber1187 8 месяцев назад

      You theoretically could which we are forced to do on our 1086 with a broken clutch disk but if you have a working clutch, use it
