This video kinda makes me depressed because no one looked like they where having fun.
@Nicholas Esposito We were all traumatized, and this isn't a ride, it's a tour, we're busy recording!!
must've been boring for them ... and awkward
People are NEVER satisfied. How hard you try... Their flesh want always more, and cannot appreciatie and enjoy the little things
People are so jaded now, especially in LA... we've seen "EVERYTHING".
People are becoming desensitized to life.
The speaker: 😧
The riders: 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿

Lol, spoiled by CGI indeed
Honestly the host needs to be more hyped. The last time I was on there this guy was like freaking the fuck out and causing a scene and then when it was over he was like "lost my cool there for a second...but then I forgot it's all fake and I've been on this ride a 100 times" he had the personality of Jim carry I LOVED IT.
Pancake Doe right? Mine was so enthusiastic it made the ride made so much better and entertaining!
That’s sounds fun then if he sounded like him Carey lol
I know your comment is super old, but do you honestly expect a Jim Carrey, oscar worthy performance every 10 minutes? These people have to do this day in and day out, so they probably don't have the energy to pretend it's real 50 times a day...lol
@@Maj0ra Probably the best time is mid shift when the host is all warmed up. No energy when they just started work or late in their shift they're ready to leave work.
Same here, brotha. 😢
Earthquake amusement : tries their best to scare those people Them : 👁👄👁
San Andreas Fault: Spoiled bastards. Don't worry I got these guys.
Right...i rode it when i was 16 and me and my cousins had a blast screaming and hollering and laughing. We know it's fake but we made it fun using our imagination
👁️👄👁️💅
For 2020 people just laugh at that kind of effects.
yeah everybody looked so bored lmao
Until they disappointed because they don't see covid 19
Couldn't be more accurate, even in the south of my country we had a hurricane, last time it happened was 17 years ago. 2020 be lookin good
In 1990 this was my favorite thing EVER

I found it hilarious how slow the ceiling fell Lmao

😂😂😂 so true
Honestly all of these people look so unamused
Kylie Gans It's a lot less traumatic than the premise makes it sound...
I was unamused
They probably have passes and have seen this at least 10 times
Maybe because they know a big one is coming soon? Who laughs at that. Id be frightened! But idk who knows why they werent amused. I would be both amused and afraid
I love the effort put into this, but this seems a bit out of date as it was opened nearly 30 years ago, studio effects in the films still used built sets. Also rides were still giving people the WOW factor back in the 90's as they started introducing film themes into rides.
Now days we know they dont use such sets anymore in disaster films as more than most of it is all computer generated.
*Chaos going on*

It looks really cool in person but I think no one usually gets scared because deep down we all know it's just special effects

I went there, and most of the rides are motion simulators like this. The magic wears off really quick.
I wish those assholes knew what a real earthquake feels like.

How is it weak?
I remember going on this ride back in '05 and they had a pre-recorded woman on the subway intercom that you could hear screaming as she got swallowed by the earthquake. As a kid that messed me up.
Same, 8 years ago when i was like 9 years old everything felt too real. Was a crazy experience. Lookin back at it this looks kinda whack :(
I remember going on this when I was way too young and it scared the shit out of me lol. Looking back on it now is hilarious.
I went on it when I was a kid and remember shitting myself (not literally). Did they reverse it back again and show where the water drained to?
As a kid I went on a ride like this but I remember loving it. I hated the rides that moved too fast, or were too dark, though. If I couldn’t see or could be flung out, it was a nope from me
2:09 I remember when this happened i Genuinely was scared because i didnt think that was part of the ride i was like woah that is an insane amount of water and i dont see any drain
1st reply and 100th like

why does everyone look like they are annoyed by the ride? why even go on the ride if you arnt going to enjoy it.

4 years ago: "ok this is 2020 simulation."
Pretty accurate, biggest pandemic since 2020 hits and while the rest of the world fights to contain the virus, we just sit around and watch and do whatever we want. The fact that nobody was wearing a mask or social distancing was a nice touch to make it make feel like America in 2020 as well.
I hate how i love this comment🤣🤣🤣
You had to ride this before 1997 to be entertained by it.

True Story: So when I was 6, about 20 years ago, I went on a similar, but crazier ride than this in Gatlinburg, Tennesee--A beautiful town in the Smoky Mountains with lots of attractions (Maybe you've heard of it on the news, since a massive wildfire burned most of it down back in 2016). They only had these old straps that locked with a seat belt--No bars or anything else. When they were strapping us in, my seat belt didn't work/click in, and the employee didn't check it properly. So just as the ride was starting to go, suddenly, my straps completely fell off. I was trying to get it to click together, and was trying to wave the employee down, asking her to wait--But clearly she either didn't notice or thought I was just getting cold feet--Because she looked straight at me and then just waived us off!
The hydraulic ramp/thing was rough and literally pitching us off the track in every which random direction, first at shallow angles and then at hard angles, and the only reason I didn't fall off was because I was holding onto my seat and other people's seats like a god-damn mofo. It was longer than this ride and I had to hold on for the whole thing. They had shit crashing and falling just like this & they even had a bigfoot come out and chase the people in the back seats (lucky me). It also sprayed us with water and got wet & slippery--the seats were hard plastic, and there was no cage/cart unlike the one in this vid; just a platform and rows of seats--but I still held on by wrapping my hands up in the straps. And then, to top it off, this giant fucking T-Rex had to pop out in front of us with its jaws wide open, and the ride pitched us all forward nearly 80 degrees, with me in the back at the very top: Now... While everyone else was thinking how "cool" it was to look at this awesome animatronic dinosaur, I was like "fuck this murderous prehistoric bull shit ride" because it felt like I was actually damn near falling into its mouth. If I was in the front row, I probably would have just been pitched out of my seat. But because I was in the back row, I used my legs to push against the row in front of me and stay inside. To this day, I vividly remember the T-Rex that almost ate me.
Of course, my dad & older sister just totally ignored me throughout the whole thing, thinking I was just panicking (Not the most observant bunch, lol), until at the very end of the ride where I could let go (and properly smack them). When the ride went back to the loading station, I came back standing up in my seat while everyone else was still locked in, glaring straight at the employee who ignored me at the beginning--And she had this "oh shiiit" look on her face as she realized she had just totally fucked up. These days, that would easily earn them a law suit, but back then--We had a look of understanding, and then we just left like nothing happened because, well... The 90s, lol.
Anyway, that's the story of the scariest ride of my life. I've been on all sorts of crazy coasters, but nothing beats the adrenaline rush you get when you're 6 and you know you're totally not safe at all, lol.
Ephyne BITCH IM CRYIG 😂

I remember I rode this ride while it broke down. The ceiling fell in and the semi stayed there, there was no water or fire. Then we stayed there for awhile and slowly it pulled into the area before the unloading station and my dad and I were confused and thought “is this part of the ride? They have to evacuate us?” And then they gave us a “pass to the front of the line” or something and that’s how we realized the ride broke down. 😅
I was also on a ride that broke down. But my dad went PTSD and told our train to move off to another train. The ride didn't have fire or water. Always wondering if it was real. It would be 2007 or so

You guys could talk about how bad the effects are. As a kid this was the coolest thing ever to me. And the water flooding was epic. You don’t get the effect here. In person. It was loud. And you fell the heat of the fire intensity. And the water gushed with such force down the stairs. It’ was great. I miss this jaws and kong tremendously. Empirically if you got a really enthusiastic tram operator. Man the memories.
1:58 imagine that train had a actual mechanical failure and hit the pillar collapsing the entire tunnel.

This makes me miss Disaster! at Universal in Florida. Rest in peace Disaster!
+WDWfan42 The set has been in USF way before Disaster! came. It was previously named Earthquake: The Big One when Universal was first opened in 1990. It had a video hosted by Charlton Heston.
+Doug Thompson I've been on both Earthquake The Big One and Disaster! Both were pretty good but I always enjoyed Disaster! a bit more.
...maybe it would have looked better with darker lighting, smoke, more movement with the vehicle.. and something 3D?
Or perhaps if the entire car had a clear dome and all of the elements actually interacted with the people?
Or perhaps if they just waited for an actual earthquake?
Just a thought
agreed, I understand safety measures and whatnot for simulation rides, you don't want to actually injure any of your customers, but this was like "oh look, the ceiling is moving..." but this ride would have been much better if there had been a sense of danger, at the very least the tour guide could have pretended to be freaked out.
