    Got my 02’ w210 e55 4 years ago and drove it in high school at 104k. I currently have 132k and I’ve enjoyed every single mile that’s on it!!! If you keep up with the oil change intervals and with basic preventative maintenance it will be reliable, but it’s ultimately up to. Reason why so many people can’t drive around in a Mercedes especially of this era is that most of them aren’t DIY. Bottom line, if you wanna drive any old Mercedes you gotta do the work yourself are your gonna end up paying a mechanic for work more than what the car is worth!

    Thanks for the video ,,well done..I agree with what you say ,,.I have a 2005 CLK55 ,,my only tip ,,replace the Crank Position Sensor before it fails,,usually at around 13 years of age regardless of mileage....use genuine Bosch only .
    I have had almost no problems at all ,,all just routine maintenance ,changed all the fluids and filters ,,spark plugs , valve cover gaskets , front brake rotors and pads, transmission connector plug ,, and it did also need new front control arms.
    But now it is perfect and will go for years ..

    I have one, any issues with shaking when the car is in gear? Mine feels like i have a small cam but cant figure out what it is. Idle is good. Just shakes. Maybe engine mount..

    • @Addimotive
      @Addimotive  4 года назад +1

      That most definitely sounds like an engine or trans mount. I replaced mine about a year ago when I was getting bad vibrations at stoplights when the car was in drive.

      I have same issue. Also weird idle in gear at lights

  • @RossEnzo

    Yo you’re a lot like me. I had a C55 from November ‘12 to November ‘15. Got it with 89k miles, and sold it with 160k. It was great car all around, I did eventually have oil consumption issues, engine & transmission mounts and of course the valve cover gaskets. Actually, I had a hairline fracture in the transmission housing (you can only imagine how much I beat on the car) I had the car when I was 16, it was fantastic fun lol. I did destroy the car tbh. I traded it for a ‘14 E550. The C55 is certainly underrated.

    Hey! How similar do you think your car is to my diesel engine C 320 CDI Avantgarde 2006? Similar problems?

    • @Addimotive
      @Addimotive  3 года назад +1

      Because your engine is a turbo diesel I would guess any similarities are pretty minimal

    • @Addimotive
      @Addimotive  3 года назад +1

      I don’t have too much experience with that engine though

      @@Addimotive Ok, thank you for the reply. But as much as I've heard, Mercedes makes bulletproof diesel engines especially the 2.7 and 3 liter ones.

    What would you recommend for alternative floor mats, I don’t wanna use the original ones too much, plus they getting faded a little, I want a sharp new looking for floor mats and put the original ones in the trunk.

    • @Addimotive
      @Addimotive  4 года назад +1

      You could look at weather tech style mats if you don’t want carpet.

    • @Addimotive
      @Addimotive  4 года назад

      I probably could've replaced the shocks in the last few years of owning it. That might've helped me rear wheel rubbing issue slightly.

      Usually the front upper control arms or chassis bushing needs to be replaced after 60 to 80,000 miles, depending on how it is used.
