Agree with all your points here. One thing I do find a bit disappointing is that the restrictions of the sculpt means that Motti can't reach anywhere near his collar, and for the price Hasbro are charging for this set they could have retooled Motti's arm a bit to give him that ability. After all, the previous Motti figure was specifically designed to do just that. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't draw attention to it on the packaging

I also would’ve preferred Yularen instead of the generic ISB guy…hopefully we’ll get him soon on his own card along with a Tarkin
Okay I'm going to call it here, that imperial officer in white should have been made with a females face, and a cape. (You all know who I'm referring to) nice review Books.
I'm glad the Isb officer has a black cap, I'll be putting it on my Krennic because I liked him better with the cap at the start of Rogue One.

Very nice Bossk. I agree with everything you said, is this a troop builder set? Just 4 random officers would have been great, with named characters on their own card.

Now we need an updated moff tarkin, yularen and general veers... All troops will debark for ground assault. Prepare to target the main generator.
Since he was in the ISB, I wonder if Moff Gideon's head would fit on that ISB officer. It would be cool to have an original trilogy version of him (even though we've obviously never actually seen that).
Hasbro can use the imperial officer sculpts for others like Agent Kallus and a female version for Dedra Meero. Only issue would be the heights of each figure (only clones could be same heights). Maybe with some slight tweaks, we can get clone officers and admirals like Yularen, Coburn, Killian
I'd strongly prefer him to be on a cardback but Valin Hess from The Mandalorian would have been an epic officer to put in this 4-pack so you get one character from ANH, one from ESB, one from new Disney streaming media and then you can make the fourth a generic officer.
Valin Hess is also identical to Veers in rank and code cylinders, so one could lead to the other.
It's so strange to me how they put 9 officers on the box, but only included 4. Maybe there are more to come?
It’s been the same with all the un-carded army builders in the white boxes so far. One side has like a dozen characters on it, and the other side has the four you actually get. They’re really nice illustrations, but I’m not sure what the logic is there.
Nice review, BB! What’s the deal w the holsters? Separate piece attached to the belt area? Cool of Hasbro to go to the trouble of giving some holsters.
Fun pack but I would prefer named characters on card. If a white box is the only way to get Motti, that’s fine. But I can only imagine how great his card could’ve been! Agree that Yularen needs to be carded!

The holster is sculpted into the “skirt” piece.
Ive just got the 2004 Yularen, it is a nice figure, but it definately needs an update and I agree that this pack wouldve been the perfect opportunity!
He has been in Andor recently too, perfect time to get him out in the line!
Hey Tim, great video as always. Do you reckon generic ISB’s cap will fit director Krennic’s head? I’m right miffed he won’t come with one.
In fairness, it is accurate to the appearance. He only wears the cap when he wears his rain poncho, which is different than his normal cape.
With the release of this pack, and that new officer body, I really really hope they redo Tarkin, and re-release him
This pack is really fascinating to me. I'd love to know what Hasbro was thinking when they made the choices that they made here. Bossk, I think your assessment is spot on. If they were going to do this as an army builder style pack, it should have been four generic officers, and I think they'd have been smart to use the likenesses of some of the more notable background/unnamed officers of lower rank, in different colours - I'd pick two in the field grey, one in all black, and one in white and black. If they wanted to do named characters, then they should have followed the model of the recent Jabba's Court Denizens pack, and given us four carded figures in a box, with a new Tarkin, Motti, Tagge and Yularen. The only new tooling required would be heads and torsos. I'm somewhat baffled by the decision to essentially split the difference here. I'm definitely happy to add these figures to my collection, but this selection gives me very little - if any - reason to buy more than one pack.
Another great video Tim. I agree, if it's an army builder it should be generic officers. Leave the named characters for cardbacks. That being said, mine has shipped and I am looking forward to it! May the Force be w/ you!
While I'm sure there are differences, is it just me who thinks the generic ISB officer head looks a bit like Moff Gideon molded in a different color? (I'm sure it's just the hair style and mustache that's throwing me) Great review Bossk!
Nice set with a large amount of swopping around to get what you need out of them.
Some extra hats and other gubbins might have been nice, but I quite like this release
We also need a Star Destroyer Commander 4-pack.
I said on OOK video that I thought the ISB officer was iden versios father, but having a closer look, that head sculpt is totally different unfortunately. Shame, because the rest of the figure is spot on, including rank badge.
How good would an Iden Versio be!
Great review! I was really excited about this pack, and the tusken raider 4-pack when they were revealed, but haven't been able to justify the price for either of them. Also, I already have Piett and am not fussed about the rank badge (although i guess i could customise one). If these 'armybuilder' packs are going to be £60+ going forward, I don't mind if they contain named characters as I won't be able to afford more than one anyway. Maybe we can get the Andor Aldani mission crew in one...
I would have liked if they made less important characters in packs like this instead of their own cards provided the price was significantly lower. Things like jabba's goons rereleaases already can be found discounted.
Great video Tim, agree with your assessment. Love these new officers, especially Admiral Piett, with correct rank badge and Admiral Motti, but wish he could reach for his throat. Also good to get an ISB officer, but why not an Andor related character, Partagaz or Yularen. I hope @hasbropulse start theming these into further releases, e.g Death Star briefing room, black uniform variants from ANH and ROTJ and Captain Tigo from Andor, ISB officers from Andor, an ESB set with General Veers, Admiral Ozzel, Needa and Jeremy Bulloch’s cowardly Bespin lieutenant etc. So much world and army building potential here, I just hope Hasbro realise this and get more of these out.
So many they could do. But I guess they don’t want to fill the line with men in grey suits. Hopefully we will get more though.
I’m a opener and have yet to but piety is he worth buying if you buy this pack. As only reason to buy carded version I can see is for custom.
Instead of another Piett which we don’t really need in that set, they could’ve included Valin Hess, or just another generic Officer.
Great review Tim!! Was looking forward to this one. Agree with your points. As nice as it is to now have Motti and the correct Piett, those belonged on card backs. They seem to have lost the plot on the point of army builder packs, they’re supposed to be generic. We’re going to have to keep hammering that home apparently. As for the ISB Officer, Yularen would have been preferable for sure, but this figure as he is is 95% Admiral Versio from Battlefront II (Iden Versio’s father). The rank and code cylinders are identical, just needs the correct head! So close. And the captain they included with the same body as the original Piett was a waste. We’ve already gotten two different captain bodies with Piett and Jerjerrod. It should have been a black uniformed officer, that would have been better. - Tyler

The officer on the far left looks like the female officer from the mandalorian that set up the Dr that did the cloning

Im not much of an imperial officers collector im waiting for some of the officers from andor hopefully with a trench coat but even if i was i feel like the isb guy is the only figure worth getting from this set
And completely agree they should have just gone all out on bamed characters maybe a general veers and admiral ozzel because i dont think weve had either in a long time
I also felt like it was pretty lazy to just repack piett so soon after the carded one I don't care if the rank badge is different piett is piett
It is a great looking set, but I am with you with regards to army builder packs. Hasbro should either stick with generic army builder figures and not have named characters with them. Named characters should come on their own cardboard.

The ISB Officer looks alot like Wullf Yularen …that is insane he is not. Moff Gideon was once an ISB officer, customizers could pop a spare Gideon head on the ISB body to replicate Gideon before the Sacking of Mandalor

We don’t seem to have any of the other figures from 4 packs put on to a card. The Tusken Chieftain for example.
Wonder if you can swap out the heads of older officer figures like Ozzel and Needa. Should get my pack soon so I will find out.

So they are different “bodies”? I.e: not the exact same material wrinkles in all the same areas? Yes, having so many different characters from a like mold is great, I just like the idea that not all legs/limbs/chests are exactly the same.

If I remember correctly, Hasbro said that this set came with alternate heads. Did I heard wrong or they were ommited?

I definitely will have to pick it up but it is quite disappointing to have two named characters in there. In my opinion they all should have been no names from different departments like one should have been a stormtrooper officer in a black uniform to give it more variety
Hasbro Already Put Out Piett in a TVC Card, So Why Put Him in a 4pck ? They Could Have Put Other Imperial Officers in The Pack Instead of Piett.
Basically it’s the different rank badge on each Piett. As mentioned in the video, the ROTJ version is screen accurate, even though it’s a costume error, and the army builder version is the screen accurate ESB version, so in the end you can have both!

Great review, but Im sorry that Motti head sculpt is a swing and a miss.
These guys look great. But, I still wish they had put one of them in an all-black uniform. I also wish one of them was female, but that's a bigger, different issue. Maybe they'll do an Elia Kane figure on a card, and then we'll have a female imperial Officer sculpt they can make army builders with.

There’s only one reason for adding two rando’s into this box and that was to check the diversity box.
If Motti and Piett are both Admirals, why are their rank badges different? I know they are correct to the on screen uniforms, so is this another mistake, or have we been calling Motti an Admiral all this time when he is actually a Brigader?
Just checked and Hasbro press release says General Motti! I always thought it was Admiral Motti, so maybe it another Lucas error at some point!
@BossksBounty You are right. Motti has always been released as an Admiral, and for the past 23 years, I've never noticed his rank badge was wrong. Just double-checked, and it looks like his rank badge could be that of a Brigadier General, so seems Hasbro has just gone for General in the press release, which is fine, but to put a spanner in the works General Veers rank badge is 4 red and 4 blue 😉
In the credits of A New Hope Motti is listed as a General.
I’m just disappointed that they have Piet. That’s already warming pegs, why force it in another pack

Is it wrong I kind of wanted a female Imperial officer? I mean there's Juno Eclipse and darn it there's one more isn't there? It was a comic two-pack with Luke (he also was disguised as an officer) wasn't it? I would love either Dedra or Elia (Gideon's subordinate).

The figures themselves, I love, the caps they wear are terrible!!! They need to be tighter and smaller. Reminds me of putting an adult hat on when I was a kid. Very disappointing, the rest is perfect!
Maybe they installed a tanning bed in Piett's Star Destroyer!
That’s false advertising for you.
I'm not going to call this "woke," but pre-Disney Star Wars had a 100% white male Empire. I kind of wish this had been more faithful to one era of Star Wars or another. Either embrace the wholly white male characters from the original trilogy or have a Disney era one with a more diverse lineup of NAMED officers. As it is it feels like those two unnamed officers are token representation.
