This was an amazing Tutorial. I have been trying to learn Photoshop and Illustrator for a while now. Admittedly I was working a full time job until recently. I had pretty much given up learn these two applications until I found your Tutorials. You make PS and Illustrator so much easier to understand. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
I’m so glad to know the videos helped. There’s definitely a learning curve but once you get past that it’s amazing what you can make this software do 😊
Amazing tutorial! I've been watched tons of this similar tutorial, none of them are worked for me. But this one is the easiest and most straight forward tutorial that finally worked! Thanks a lot!
Thanks for this... Great tutorial! Just a note for those who need to create this for print: This must be created first in RGB mode in order for the Filter Gallery to be available :)
I followed your instructions for using these textures to use on the web. However, when I sized the layer for print when I try to click on filter gallery it isn't highlighted to be able to use it. Can you help me with the settings for printing?
Hi ! Very simple and fun tutorial, yuo have a new subscriber ! I have only one question, I made it using both 1200x1200, and 3600x3600, 72 and 300 ppi, but the second nugget texture with bigger size doesn't look well as instead the smaller one. The dark areas are not uniform and blur. Is there a way to improve it ?
Hi there! The settings in the tutorial are specific for the document size. You can try adjusting the filter settings until you achieve something similar but variations in the document size sometimes give unpredictable results. I would make it in the smaller size, then create a repeating pattern so that you can make it as big or small as you need it without losing quality. This video ruclips.net/video/JDIjxuvLUj8/видео.html will show you how to create a repeating pattern (starting at 2min 28sec) I hope this is helpful and thank you for subscribing!
I have a video that can help, I use glitter texture in the video but it works with any texture, including these gold ones. ruclips.net/video/0mpyS7161Os/видео.html
Thank you, I have many more background texture videos planned. If you have something specific you want to learn, leave a comment and I will work on it.
Loving this tutorial! Quick question for you though. Would this have changed at all with the 2020 update? I was able to create the second and third ones with no issues. But with the first one, rather than getting a "nugget" look after applying Bas Relief, I am getting more of a diagonal sketchy line. It still looks awesome, but isn't the nugget look, lol! All my settings are identical to yours, so I was just curious.
The result should be the same in 2020. Make sure that all other filters are turned off. Sometimes Photoshop keeps your last used filters. You can tell on the bottom right portion of the filter gallery window. If you have anything other than "Bas Relief" make sure to click on the eye icon to turn them off, or just delete them. Also, check the size of the document, the settings are for a 1200x1200 size If you've created a different size document, you may have to adjust the filter settings.
@@PrettyWebzMedia Thank you! The last used filter was applied on top of the one I was adding, and I didn't catch it! All fixed and working beautifully! :)
Karen Tabaka I wish that were the case, But no. When I made the video I had a few smoke detectors that needed new batteries. Some day I’ll redo these videos. Im glad you liked the video, even with the noise :-)
@@mercedestorres9806 the noise doesn't even phase me! I'm used to that noise as I have three little meeping Caiques who make this sound all day! Mostly I'm just disappointed its juts a fire alarm and not a parrot. : )
Go here to download the texture pack bit.ly/2R97UHb the video states "hi-res" these are 72ppi a smaller file for web use only these are not designed for print. My apologies for the misprint.
Hi, yes you can start with a 300 dpi document and convert it to CMYK after you design the pattern just remember that metallics don’t have the same shine that you see on the screen when printed. It’s better to use a foil overlay, usually offered from your printer.
Add a pink color adjustment layer and set the layer mode to “color” you can also use the hue and saturation adjustment layer with a pink hue, make sure to set “colorize” or it will not work and bring down saturation slightly.
OMG your battery needs changing in your smoke detector ---- I dont see how that doesnt drive you nuts --- litterly was like nails on a chalk board thru out the whole video lol .......great tutorial tho !!
I played back one of my older videos recently, now that beep is all I hear. I was so used to the sound. I will probably redo some of these videos in the future. I'm glad you found it helpful, in spite of the sound.
Excellent video tutorial. Ok, me so duh-me but I don't know how to work with swatches. I mean can I add these as a swatch or do I have to apply the technique to the design not later? I have a logo and I don't know how to get the color there lol... it's selects the type and puts color in the fill.
I'm not sure I understand, so please bear with me. If you save the texture as an image file which I show you how to do in the video then you can go to file>>>place embedded, adjust the size of the texture (make sure it's above the layer you want to add texture) right-click the texture and choose "create clipping mask" from the menu. That will clip the gold texture to your text or object.
If you want to save this as a pattern to apply later you can do that by going up to "edit" at the top of the screen then choose "define pattern" name it and the texture will be available as a pattern inside of photoshop that can be applied as a layer style.
I wanted to drop back by to say you are da bomb! A lot of people miss or omit or don’t share the how to(s). I thank you for being so generous and taking the time to help me. #itworked #fanforlife
Where do I get the gold textures? Do you have a link or something?

Yup, that's right, thanks for the great tip! I've never tried to make a pattern in CMYK. I tried it today and sure enough, no filter gallery.
Then can you make it cmyk after? Also do you know how to make this seamless?
I was just wondering why i don’t have access to filter gallery, thaanks buddy

Hi
May I know how to create Matt/shine background in business card.
It’s best to use foil overlays from your printer to get the best results. These golds look best on screens because of the added light.
Very straight foward and useful, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks. Your video really helped me.

when I click on the hue and saturation all I am getting is new layer. I can't seem to get the adjustments to change the color
can i add them as my colour pallete
You can save them as Photoshop styles to apply them quickly.

My filter gallery doesn't work/available. What have i do? Do you have any suggestion?
Make sure you are working with an 8-bit document some filters will not work in 16 or 32
when I add the cloud filter it is always in black and white. What am I doing wrong?

Sure, you can get them here prettywebz.com/product/metallics-digital-papers/
Can these be created at 300 dpi for printing?

How can I make my fonts into rose gold texture like these?
Add a pink color adjustment layer and set the layer mode to “color” you can also use the hue and saturation adjustment layer with a pink hue, make sure to set “colorize” or it will not work and bring down saturation slightly.
you add the foil layer on top of text layer, right click on foil layer and click "create clipping mask", it looks really pretty
