Exploring an Abandoned Correctional Hospital - Part 1

In this video, I explore an abandoned correctional hospital. The facility was opened as a Sanatorium to treat Tuberculosis patients. Due to advancement in curing Tuberculosis and the increasingly low incidence of TB patients, the Sanatorium was transferred to Department of Corrections in 1983 and became a correctional hospital for prison inmates. In 2010, the facility was closed as part of a statewide budget cut. Since then, the building has been sitting vacant.

Unfortunately, this place has been SEVERELY locked down and watched recently; I've had the "pleasure" of running into the current caretaker and the local police...they arrived 15 minutes after I walked around out front. They're pretty adamant about keeping everyone out. 😞

Dude I always wanted to get inside this place. When I went they had new solar power outdoor cameras setup and new boards on the doors.

Interesting to see that there haven't been many vandals in that place even though it's been closed for so long. I imagine it must be well guarded then.

Yes this was the only place I explored without Graffiti, or vandalism. Didn't see any security but it's fenced all around the building. Hopefully it stays that way.

Not well guarded, but even today a lot of the things in this video are still sitting in the exact same spot
