I've had mine for about a year now and it's been a GREAT addition to my shop! Not sure how I managed without it! Great Video BTW!
Just a suggestion, you may want to turn that lift around and make a longer power cord or move the outlet. Running over the hydraulic line and safety lock cable is coing to cause you problems in the long run. Great video made even better by the appearance of Mustie1.

I absolutely love my scissor lift. I have the BendPak, but I have had it for a decade now and it is the single best tool I have ever bought. I also work on old VW's, and they are a perfect fit on a scissor lift. I recommend them to anyone with height limits in their shop.
A couple of tips. Have your sliding lift arms flipped so their outside ends are towards the middle of the lift before you roll the vehicle over the it. That way they can swing out from the center, and not be blocked by the tires on the vehicle. Also, I am pretty sure you should use ATF for the fluid. Not sure if tractor hydro will cause problems, but mine uses ATF.
I bought a 9klb two post lift at storage lien auction and sold it to some one with a shop so he had help to move it. Sold the paint booth at local Auction house, my old hussel, it's good to know people who can help! Great improve of Bill Murry all you need are some ground hogs now. I laughed that was good!

In retrospect I should have bought one of these instead of my two-post lift. Serves the same function for the type of work I do, is cheaper, and takes up much less space. Congrats on your new tool.
Hi Rick , thank you... yeah if I could do a 2 post in there I really didn't want the fixed beams in there . This way I can keep my layout flexible . I did just signb a lease on a shop with a 2 post life that I am very excited to use though :)

You have snow already?We haven't seen snow in the southern UK since around 2010.Nice lift,should save the old back some,that thing about threads was amusing 'cause I was a tool storeman for a few years and I found myself with all kinds of threads to deal with.My most useful reference was a little book those guys on the shop floor used to use called the Zeus book.That little book tautght me all sorts of stuff I didn't know and gave me a good start in that job...................................

Most of the time, you can download the manuals to HF products from their website. How come Mustie Muttonchops never shows up at my place when stuff needs to be put together? I am impressed with how high that lift can rise! I gotta get me one of those!

thank you Chris , I looked at couple similar ones , a few were 110v too ...you can't beat this one with the 20 off coupon . The pump will come banged up as it arrives in a poorly packaged cardboard box . The pallet the lift came on was also destroyed and the driver and I had a tough time unloading it . Also the safety wasn't catching so we had to adjust the cable .

Great video. Thinking of getting this lift for my 1963 VW beetle to do air ride suspension. Seeing it lifts your single cab can you confirm it will lift my beetle on the pan so I can remove all both front and rear suspension? Thanks in advance.

Just curious did you install the lift backwards just because if the power cable or because you work on rear engines vehicles primarily? I just got a scissor lift myself installed it in the same orientation for more under engine access of my front engines vehicles
I put quick couplers on hydraulic lines, makes it easier to use and store.

If you put engine/Transmission side opposite of the Rams , could a person remove Transmission? If a movable steel plate was in place , side to side of lifts flat surfaces! Thx

My pump didn't show with the lift so I actually ( legit ) called customer service ....I had no idea they would send M1 out to rectify the situation haha

You actually do a decent impression of that Bill Murray character. take that pristine VW off the front of that rusted hulk... and send it to me... I had the one off my first car, a VW van turned into a camper for years, but some time in the last couple of times I moved, it got gone somehow. I was 15 when I got that wagen, and it was rusty and looked like somebody took a huge can opener down one side, and of course it didn't run... but even tho I only had farm tools, didn't know metric nothing, I was able to get it running. Just took a carb rebuild and cleaning the tank and fuel lines out... pretty much, new plugs and stuff didn't hurt either. Of course, it didn't last long, It got a bad oil leak while I was (illegally) driving it around the back roads... and it blew up. Had I known then how easy it would have been to swap it out or rebuild it I might still have it today, but I was a farm kid with little money to work with...none in the winter when there was nothing to sell... so I let it go for what I paid for it. all of 25 dollars. guy wanted it to use for storing his grain and such... I took the stove and stuff out of it and sold that later, so I still made a profit on it. sort of, not including the time and bit of money to get it running. if you include that, well I probably lost a few bucks.
By the way, do you know what the record for removing and re installing a VW engine is using only hand tools? Back in the day when they had such competitions it was a minute 30 seconds with 4 guys doing it. I'm kinda surprised it took that long, four bolts and some wires to to take lose... its out.

It does matter. Black is your load, white is your common and green is you earth ground. Where you put each wire matters.
