Poor operating by both pilots. Don't care how much of a hero status the media claims the pilot was This was both pilots error and one has to live with the thought of it. RIP to ALL
If you look at the vision of the chopper coming down he should’ve been looking left and right and seen that the other chopper was taking off ….. and the guy that was taking off should’ve been looking around and seeing if the other chopper was arriving ? 😮. it’s not that hard is it?
That’s so heart wrenching to watch it looks like the guy that’s waving to the helicopter possibly knows someone on it to wave them off and then to see that I just can’t even imagine.
The approach to the helipad should be in just one single direction. And take-off should be in the same direction, so that no helicopter will have any chance to run into each other from side-on, or even head-on.
Whatever is the case, the helicopters should all be approaching the landing pad in a single direction. And taking off should be in that same direction. Which avoids ridiculous situations like this in these modern times.
No, the pilot is fault!! There is video showing the pilot traveling towards the other helicopter that was performing a landing, he had just taken off and instead of ascending vertically, he flew in a fast forward direction while ascending causing his lack of vision above the rotor blades, I’m not sure what the protocol is, but whenever I’ve been in or whiteness a helicopter taking off and landing they have always performed the same manoeuvres, they ascend vertically to a certain height, then hover a few seconds before looking around and getting the all clear, From the video, the pilot seems to be reckless by not performing the common manoeuvre, Edit; to add to that, new footage shows inflight footage of the helicopter performing the landing and three passengers warned him about this 9 seconds before the impact, the pilot refused to look and take any notice, then about 4 seconds before the impact two passengers started tapping the pilots shoulder violently to get his attention about the oncoming helicopter and failed to see it, he was impacted before he had noticed the helicopter, this is the “hero” What’s going on here? Evidence doesn’t lie!! Both pilots were too comfortable with their routines and thought they knew better than the passengers!! There is videos of this incident from multiple angles including inside the helicopters, action should be taken on both pilots and the company should be sued!! This is wrong that they are calling them as hero’s!! They killed innocent people because of their lack of attention! Simple as that
@@aconn58 So how are you making this assessment when you have no clue what happened? I have worked in a job where safety was taken seriously and most of the issues I saw were people not following the rules.
It’s PILOT ERROR, human error …. Simple as that. You can have all the safety protocols in place but unless the people follow the protocols then Accidents will follow
Lot of sky out there....pilot who survived has a lot of questions to answer and maybe a lot of guilt.

Seaworld makes the headlines again. Hmmmm

such a sad start to the year
That sucks😢
Isn't this the 2nd time one of those scenic flights has crashed and killed people , was the 1st 10years ago or 5 ?
I only remember the nz incident where they landed near a live volcano
30 years ago a SeaWorld chopper crashed on a beach close by to the resort
@@johnypirelli1118 l found an article about an incident 13years ago where the chopper landed with a thud in the car park
CoOperation with the NTSB is law, it's not by choice!
Ntsb? When did we move to Florida?
Very sad
The helicopter taking off didn't have a chance, looks like airborne craft flew into its flight path,
