I visited Kolkata about 20 years ago. I remember seeing some extremely dirty, borderline nasty streets. After looking at this, for a moment I couldn’t believe this is Kolkata. Looks very clean and green. Kudos to the people of Kolkata for doing a great job keeping the city clean. Also I didn’t see any slums. 👏🏽
You do realise that this video is not showing the old city or even Salt Lake but mainly the New Town which hardly existed 20 years ago - it is like comparing Old Delhi with its centuries old houses and streets to New Delhi.

But Kolkata is still poor
Kolkata is as dirty as any other city in lndia like Mumbai and Delhi. It depends on which part of the city you are visiting. People are commenting that all these were not there 20 years back but l can tell you that 95% of what is shown in this video was there even 20 years ago except Eco park which opened around 12 years back, rest everything was there. So when you visited Kolkata 20 years back either you limited your movements to a very small area or you were biased in your views of Kolkata, which most of the cow- belt population are.

Yet few more iconic places have missed to capture....like Mohunbagan ground, Airport, Shyambazar,Kumartuli,EMbypass, Museum , Alipore Zoo, Sealdah Station etc. ...
This is rfeally a masterpiece for every netizens of the city of joy. I personally grew up in Kolkata and I have witnessed the change in the city thanks for putting that up to the whole world.

A huge city with a pleasant atmosphere and just a bunch of places that are interesting to visit and see for a potential tourist, it seems to me that in Kolkata you can get lost for half your life and never know everything!

PLEASE MAKE A PART TWO AND COVER ALL BRITISH STYLE ARCHITECTURE. DURING BRITISH RAJ CALCUTTA WAS CONSIDERED SECOND BEST BRITISH CITY AFTER LONDON. THERE ARE MORE BRITISH STYLES MANSIONS IN CALCUTTA CITY THAN IN WHOLE OF AMERICA.
I was going to say the same, this needs a part 2. Covering BBD-Bagh Area and Lake ( both Dhakuria Lake of South and Subhas Sarovar of North Kolkata) and Swami Narayan Temple. And many other shots(may be not drone) of places that define kolkata like Tram, Kumortuli, Small Golis (lanes) of North Kolkata, College Street, and Zoo.
I live in bhubaneswar now, and everytime I reach Shalimar Station or Howrah ( twice per month), the cab runs through the Sign board (Welcome to Kolkata) and then watching the green clean city in the morning brings tears every time..
