In present days Kolkata is a dead city. This city is dying slowly 😢
If Kolkata is such a great city how is it the International airport only has a handful of international flights as no one comes there due to a lack of demand? How is it no financial boom/companies expanding from Kolkata because of continuous political and leftist unionism? How is it that Kolkata is compared to Havana - charming but where time stands still? These are NOT asked to be derogatory- they are real questions for introspection. Kolkata should have been like Hong Kong, a flourishing financial hub connecting SE Asia with the rest of the world instead it is still sitting mired in politics, 18th century ideologies and backward looking policies. I took my young children to the Zoo - what a disgrace- animals were in appalling state, dust and dirt everywhere and the worst was toilets- literally we had to jump over crap to get to the toilets and people had crapped the entire way in! We were so concerned about health we had to cut short our trip and go.

I dont know why Kolkata metro city is not expanding like Delhi NCR and Mumbai-Navi Mumbai, Bangalore. Kolkata deserves a place like Delhi and Mumbai. Kolkata city can be develop and build like Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This city badly needs an expansion including Greater Kolkata metropolitan region. Even UP CM Yogi has planned to develop Lucknow city like Lucknow SCR or state capital region including Kanpore and its neighbourhood villages encroachment.
