Having owned a CHR Lime and Orange edition IMO this is a ‘Marmite’ car. My wife loved driving the CHR, me less so. Both cars were very noisy at motorway speeds but town driving was a joy due to the hybrid engine. Both our CHR were second cars and didn’t get driven much which meant constant recharging of the small amp hour 12V battery as this constantly drained even with the car turned off. This problem was so bad I installed a battery monitor as there was no indication in the car’s display that the battery was getting low. Hope Toyota have improved this.
Had the same issue on the 2023 corolla hybrid I solved this by stopping the remote from talking to the car computer over night. Hold the lock button on the remote for 2 seconds and push the unlock button twice while still holding the lock button down. the LED remote light should flash twice all done. This also saves the button cell battery in the remote. Just push the unlock button on the remote to gain entry to your car. Never had the 12v battery go flat since even after sitting for a couple of weeks.
Toyota didn’t even tried to widen the rear windows even after they transferred the rear door handles. Still feels claustrophobic at the back. The main reason why I replaced mine with a Volkswagen Tiguan. My kids love the wide window visibility, they can see landscapes and views, they don’t feel nauseated and they are happy.
You can get a Peugeot 2008 for 19k which is about 10k less than this. What am I missing? Reliability maybe but build quality and looks appear the same.
I would have bought this when I was looking for a car a week ago but the rear window visibility is still a big let down. Toyota have already transferred the rear door handles but still decided not to widen or extend the windows a little bit further down the back. So the claustrophobic feel is still the same as before which I really don't like. What's the point of releasing a new one if you're not changing the negative aspect of it. Toyota is yet again failed to listen to the critics of their customer.
Why don't they design a little boxy shaped car these days? This car looks amazing and superb but considering practicality it's like 2/10 as the rear window is too small and the rear looks smart in appearance but no rear wiper.. that's an issue for crazy weather here in Sydney. And the price omg!!
