      @toyotaprius79 Год назад +4

      All cars a damned expensive.
      The market has trended toward premium, crossovers and SUVs for over a decade.
      This contributed to inflation, and inflation reduces the value of profits hence why every automaker has gone down this spiralling dead end

    • @toyotaprius79
      @toyotaprius79 Год назад

      @@glennchinyangarara8225
      Absolutely not
      That demand is created by advertising. But crucially, it's profit that pushes all the gizmos, premium build, larger crossovers and SUVs.
      And you may have noticed that there's far fewer entry level city cars, and a problem with inflation. You should realise how the value of profits diminish with inflation.

    Having owned a CHR Lime and Orange edition IMO this is a ‘Marmite’ car. My wife loved driving the CHR, me less so. Both cars were very noisy at motorway speeds but town driving was a joy due to the hybrid engine. Both our CHR were second cars and didn’t get driven much which meant constant recharging of the small amp hour 12V battery as this constantly drained even with the car turned off. This problem was so bad I installed a battery monitor as there was no indication in the car’s display that the battery was getting low. Hope Toyota have improved this.

      Had the same issue on the 2023 corolla hybrid I solved this by stopping the remote from talking to the car computer over night. Hold the lock button on the remote for 2 seconds and push the unlock button twice while still holding the lock button down. the LED remote light should flash twice all done. This also saves the button cell battery in the remote. Just push the unlock button on the remote to gain entry to your car. Never had the 12v battery go flat since even after sitting for a couple of weeks.

    I would have bought this when I was looking for a car a week ago but the rear window visibility is still a big let down. Toyota have already transferred the rear door handles but still decided not to widen or extend the windows a little bit further down the back. So the claustrophobic feel is still the same as before which I really don't like. What's the point of releasing a new one if you're not changing the negative aspect of it. Toyota is yet again failed to listen to the critics of their customer.

Toyota GB initially said they would not sell the sleek gorgeous looking new Prius as the previous Prius incarnation didn't sell well here in the UK . I'd suggest it didn't sell because the styling was an over styled in-cohesive mess just for the sake. History repeating itself perhaps? I'm thinking the new CHR will be harder to sell than the previous version. Possibly another own goal by Toyota styling? We'll see. The new Prius is much nicer.

    Just rented one for a month in Germany. Good point is the esthetic, and the totally seamless transition between electric (not a lot of it) and gasoline engine. The economy is quite good, about 50 euros for 600 km (in Germany).
    But… From the driver standpoint, the CVT is a huge pain, it’s totally basic and if there’s any up and down in the road the RPM go up in an extremely annoying way. It feels like you are driving an old Fiat 500, if you know what I mean, even though there’s actually some power (Btw, I’m pretty familiar with CVT, within my vehicles there’s a Subaru Forester, and that CVT is a much better thing, night-and-day better). The gear selector seems standard, but it isn’t, you need to do a kind of a left-and-right dance to go from P to D and R. In a month I never got it completely right, I had to always hunt around to make it work. And the *beep* at every speed signal !!!! Triple *beep* if you dare to go over the limit by one kilometer… Huge, huge, huge annoyance that after the initial amazement gets old very soon if you are driving countryside…
    I had rear passengers for a week, and they all lamented a very high noise and most importantly a very bad outside visibility. The cute exterior lines evidently didn’t consider the consequences…
    So, all in all I was happy to have this car, worked reasonably well for the month I needed it. But I would NEVER buy one, no matter what…

    We purchased one of the first models back in 2017 great looking car and very reliable. I definatly will not be purchasing this new shape model it is way too expensive and very ugly.

    At first sight looks good .But having seen one in the flesh and sat in it .make no mistake.this is Not a family car.it is so small and cramped.there’s no room in the back for any reasonable sized passengers.

    For everyone who complains about the price. There’s always a Dacia waiting for new owner.

    Given the price, I'd rather have a Volvo EX30! Much more space, quieter and quicker!

      Shame about the awful software and lack of real controls only touchpad driven through multiple actions just to change the fan speed.

    Why don’t you refer to the Qashqai in comparisons? Here in Spain they are cheaper - E Power electric transmission, much more equipment, faster, bigger inside, better interior quality and for me the “over the shoulder” view in the Toyota is lethal (overtaking warning available?). Finally, try getting the Evoque that you mention on the road at this price point!

    the new model is smiling 🌝whilst the old one looked frowned/angry 😠. I liked the old one more, it was more masculine. My opinion of course, I did not see the car in person.
