Hi, I was going through all the comments and I am impressed to see you replyed to all of them in a very sweet and polite way, all though they were some repeated questions but you still answer them. Keep up your good work 😍
Oh thank you so much for that comment Kaukab!! That’s so kind of you ☺️💕xx
U life saver mam ..I needed this tutorial...thank u thank u..love frm INDIA
To resume all the measures: the 4 cakes are 12", 10", 8" and 6" diameter and each of them 4" high.
The styrophome separators are 8", 6" and 4" diameter, 2" smaller than the cake above and each of them are 4" high. Please confirm if this is correct!!
Do you know the weight of each cake? This would really help me as I need to make a cake of 15 kg and so I need to find the right meaurments. The diameters and width of each cake should be in proper size to teach 15 kg alltogether ( without the weight of flowers and separatorts).
Have a nice day and hope you can help out with a good advice.
Love this tutorial! Thank you 😁😁 and you don't need bright setting to hide your face! Beautiful lady
Haha thanks doll! Glad I FINALLY know how to work the camera xx
love your videos cos you make everything seem possible even to an amateur caker like me....thanks x
Ahh thanks Elaine, that means SO much because that's exactly what I want to do for people! Thank you :) xx
Very lovely
You are the best I like the way you explain
Thank you for this tutorial. My daughter is wanting a floating floral tier for her wedding cake and this is the only tutorial I could find to carry it off. She is just wanting one floral tier. The cake dimensions will be 12", 10", 8" and 6", with the 10" tier being the floral tier. Do I need to put dowels in the cake dummy that will contains the flowers? I've never used a dummy before so I'm not sure if they are capable of holding the weight of the upper tiers. Thank you!
Hi Kathleen! No, the dummy is a really dense polystyrene and won’t need dowels ☺️ Good luck with the cake! xx
Thank you!
SweetieDarlingCakes thank you so much for this! I have a wedding cake with a dummy as a separator at the base and I've been pulling my hair on wether to dowel the styrofoam dummy as well. I was afraid that the 5 tiers will crash the styrofoam.... so the tiers doesn't matter as far as the cake underneath have dowels? Thanks
So nice and easy 🥰
Youre stunningly gorgeous in ANY light! :)
Those Styrofoam where can I buy them
Aside using the dummy as the separators,
Can one also use mini cake pan with same inches as the dummy ?
Thanks for this tutorial, I love it
Gorgeous cake 😊
Thank you for this video dear. So I don't need to centre dowel this cake? I.e. one dowel running through all layers. Is that correct? 🌷
I want to do something like this but with buttercream, not fondant. I am making roses and blue hydrangeas. Any suggestion on how to now mess up the buttercream frosting while trying to place the flowers in the styrofoam?
Beautiful..but what do u use to get the flowers to really stay put ..and dod u leave the stems on ?
Hi great video. Do you pit the stem of the flower inside the dummy? I could not tell. Thank you so much.
How did you prep the flowers and how do I get them to stick into the foam
Fantastic cake and brill video!! Thank you xx
Thank you so much Alison, you are very welcome :) xx
Hi! I know this is a really old video but do you know where I can get a stand like this from? I’m doing a cake very similar to this in 2 weeks and your video has been the most helpful x
Thank u so much .the cake is amazing and u r a sweetheart
Did you add a center dowel to this cake?
Love this tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. Did you use royal icing to attach the cake to the cake dummy? Did you use a protractor for the quilting? How tall were the cakes?
Hi Chantelle! The cakes were 4" tall, I do use a protractor and yes, it would be royal icing to attach :) xx
thank you so much for this helpful video! Would this work with a cake that doesnt have fondant? For eg - swiss meringue buttercream. I'm worried if I use big flowers like yours, it'll bump into the icing and ruin it.
Did u put a dowel of ur cake from top to bottom ?
How did you stick the flowers into the dummie?
Can i use paper straw for support each tire?
Please am doing the same cake. Can I add wires to the flowers and insert it in the dummy
Thank you for a great video. You are gorgeous! Just one question if the cake is five tiers tall do you recommend a central dowel going all the way through?
+j mc hi! Thank you so much!! I never use a central dowel but I've seen a lot of overseas cake makers do that xx
Wonderful tutorial 🥉love this video
Is the separator just a small cake foam?
Lovely tutorials, thankx
Thank you so much! You're welcome! xx
lovely cake .. one more thing I've learnt thank you xx
Thank you Riri! You are very welcome :) xx
Hi, what are the sizes of the cake dummy separators you have used?
Hi, loved how it looked, but was it stable for cake cutting? Wouldn’t want the whole thing to tumble down when the couple cuts the cake
Ah no it’s okay. I do always tell the couples to be slightly cautious during their cake cutting ceremony because it isn’t as sturdy as normal cakes but as long as they don’t try and cut it by slashing a sword down on it then it tends to stay put ☺️☺️xx
Love your tutorial, thank you. How do you keep the flowers fresh and stop them from wilting?
Richard Ellice thanks Richard! Roses are very good sturdy flowers so they last the day at a wedding very well. For flowers that aren’t as hardy, you’d probably need to use oasis to push the flowers into. I work with the florist on things like that, I’m no flower expert ☺️
Thank you.
Richard Ellice g
Hi thanks for this video, what size were the cakes and seperators i never know how small theu should be compated to the actual cake x
+Tweenie weenie hi! I always do the separators 2" smaller than the cake above. So I'd put a 4" separator between a 6" and 8" cake ☺️
Please can u teach how to make a vanilla wedding cake from the beginning 🥺🥺
Thank you I was looking something like this tutorials, just wondering will the cake stay stable when cutting the cake?
You're very welcome! Yes, there is plenty of support with the dummies and dowels :) xx
Great tutorial. Thank you :)
+Katrin Patergin thank you Katrin! ☺️☺️
Hi @sweetiedarlingcakes may I ask how you get your diamanté ribbon to stick to the fondant? Love your videos!
Quarter spoon Tylose powder mixed with quarter cup hot water stir vigorously and leave to rest. This is the transparent edible gum you will use
wow beautiful cake. you most definitely do not have to have your features distorted x
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Just wondering was the flowers easy to dig into the styrofoam? Or do I have dig initial hole in?
+Abigail Amankwa hi Abigail, you’re very welcome! I don’t dig the flowers into the styrofoam because it’s too hard. I actually just trimmed the stems and pushed them up against the styro. You can use some icing to stick them in place if need be xx
Where do I buy the foam and can they be squared?
Thanks for this tutorial 😊
Just one question, how many roses did you use for this cake ?
Thanks
You're welcome :) I think it was 30 xx
Is this cake stable enough to be moved once it is stacked, as there is main dowel going through the whole cake. Thanks for answering soon!
Hi Svetlana! No, this isn’t stable enough to be moved xx
Oh, I wanted to stack it on a table, put in a fridge and againg out and on the table when represented to the wedding couple and all other guests.
Gourgios cake for how many people is this 5 tier cake?
Are you kidding?!?! You do NOT look better with your features bleached out. You're lovely to look at. The lighting you used on this video worked well for me.
Haha oh my god, you're an angel! Thank you! It was like that for three weeks because it's a new camera, I set it up wrong and recorded three tutorials in one go... I'm an idiot haha! I'm glad this is working better :) Thank you so much xx
When you use fresh flowers , does the cake designer buy them or do I tell my customer to provide them ???
+Diana Martinez I always say that they should get extra from their florist then I'll talk with the florist about what we'll need xx
Thank you.
Omggg thank you sooooooo much ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful!!
Thanks Svetlana!! xx
Pls what inches dummy did u use
Thanks for sharing this video
You are more than welcome Becky :) xx
What brand of fondant icing do you use please?
Massa Ticino 😊xx
SweetieDarlingCakes. Thank you xx
You are sooooooo... pretty and those eyes...wow that look so scary for me without a central dowel..
How wide are your dummy cakes? 4 inches or 2 inches?
+Linda Xiong hi Linda, they are 2” deep xx
What a beautiful cake! 😍love your videos always so helpful xx
Thank you so much Ellen!! xx
What's the height of the separators?
2” ☺️xx
Hi where can I get cheep fake flowers from?
+Muhammad Jahangir hi Muhammad, if you're in the UK, you can get them in The Range. Hobbycraft do them but they're quite pricey... you could also try online, somewhere like eBay is probably quite good for those xx
Great tutorial as usual, so helpful! 😃
How deep are those separators you used Billie?
+Jacky Gardner hi Jacky! Thank you so much! They were 2" deep :) xx
is that styro?
+Cresty Fernandez In between the cake tiers is styro, yes ☺️
Please tell me the hight of the dummies . Thanks much
Good instructional video but please turn down the background music.
+Lee Bond ahh sorry about that Lee, I've since corrected that in my later videos ☺️ Thanks for the feedback 😊 Billie x
👍👍👍👍👍👌😍
Height of those dummies??
Wwoooooww!
This is worst tutorial i have ever seen. She shouldn’t have bother to do this.
