Phantom Liberty was awful in the best way. Honestly I really think that the "good ending" is the worst of them all. Being another face in the crowd. Especially in Cyberpunk. Really made me think.
@skyhisurvivor4724 I agree, but that's mostly because of how CDPR framed the ending. Could have just as easily tried to show it in a more positive light.
@@nukefuel6757 I mean it kinda sucks when everyone's life just goes on without you. Hell if you romance Judy she fully just dumps you, leaves and marries someone else
@ekremslayer3389 It does suck, but realistically speaking, in life we are constantly moving on from one challenge to the next. It's our job to make the most the experience. You'll lose some friends and you'll make new ones. You may do some self exploration and find something else that gives you purpose. I see the ending as a clean slate. Sure, V's life will suck for a while, but that doesn't always have to be the case. Regardless, it all comes down to what you value more at the end of the day and your perspective on the matter.
"Let's delta. Nothin' to see here after all." "Worth comin' out all the same?" "Absolutely. Thanks V. Of all the heads I coulda popped up in, hella glad it was yours."
This is as true as a Cyberpunk genre story can get...it's never truly perfect in the end...you're just trying to survive. "It's not about saving the world....it's about saving yourself." -Mike Pondsmith
People like laymen gaming actually said that the story doesn't make you think by asking big questions that are common in the cyberpunk universe! I had to laugh 😂😂😂 at how stupid that sounds. They don't ask you they actually pose those questions you directly through the gameplay and the choice's you can make! Point is it's a dam good story regardless of how it launched.
@@tonytrident8874 I feel like people missed the whole point of the cyberpunk genre in general its supposed to be ambiguous the world building in general is based around society falling apart with criminals eking out survival in a dystopian nightmare its designed to make you question things in general. Honestly after watching altered carbon season 1 and blade runner as well as reading neuromancer this game hit all the right notes with the story and as you said from what mike pondsmith was saying its not about saving the world its about individual stories of saving oneself. If you knew when precisely you were going to die and there wasn't any escaping it what would you do? such an interesting question sacrifice yourself for an engram or live out your remaining life as a legend maybe not something you wanted but something you got from the whole journey. There are many other options at that point to its fun to see so many people miss those points by complaining about "side quests" being generic when they miss out on some of the more in depth missions that build and expand on characters and add more to night city.
This game to me despite not being able to save V for more then six months is probably the best representation of a story giving an ending that isn't one hundred percent cut and dry good or bad its not even a clean break either especially because with this ending in particular Silverhand hand points out he can never forget V because he's wearing there face sure he could change it but if he did that could be like burying V in some hole in the dirt just like how Silverhand was.

Yeah, the story is golden in this game. People give it shit for being buggy, not being GTA VI and limited branching story options, yet I love it. Why? The story is convincing, instead of being another naive rehash of "you are the chosen one! go and stop evil". The world is atmospheric and characters well fleshed out. If I could change something is that you could invite NPCs on your other missions and just to cruise around the city. I hope this is a start of a new successful franchise.
@@definitelynotadam and also the soundtracks and radio music, which basically "multiply" the emotional effect of all the good parts of the game that you mentioned

I’ve never felt such strong emotional connection to game characters, how I felt in Cyberpunk. Grave scene just ripped tears out of me. What an amazing game, even with all technical problems. One of the greatest story’s, that been told by a game... If only there were way to somehow save V, for real. Because of all I seen, 6 months is all you get, no matter what you’ve done. This fact is just left void in my soul after end credits. But maybe inevitable death have something with idea of “meaningful life...” ? Before anything else I found this message. This game, like nothing else, has got me thinking about last moments of life, about meaning of my actions and importance of goals I’m trying to achieve.
Same. Not a lot of games leave me with a gut-wrenching sorrowful journey that colors my real world perspective. There's a loneliness to the world, even though you are surrounded by fascinating characters.
For Becca, for David, for Evelyn, for Takemura, for Alex, for Songbird, for Reed, for Maine, for Jackie, for Gloria, for Alt, for Saul, for Rogue, for Johnny, and for V. Never fade away, chooms
By the end of my first playthrough (nomad) I said I would destroy Arasaka. When all was said and done I sided with the sister, Johnny died, my mind was taken out, and for about an hour I really hated myself more than I ever had as a gamer.
Get the bad ending on Metro: Exodus (and don't look it up, you have to play the whole game and care) and it'll feel so real you can't even cry because it's beyond that. Profound emotion.

Same man, I have so many good memories about it, when I started playing on 10th December, the long sleepless nights I spent playing it, the soundtrack, the characters, the city, the atmosphere I wish I could forget everything about it and experience it again (but on a high end computer this time haha)
Was looking for this for a while. This version is so dope man. This is the penultimate choice for the best moment in the game. “You’re my friend V, and don’t you forget it” “never stop fighting “
Cyberpunk 2077... is literally the single game that I won't ever stop playing... it became an integral part of my life, affected my character, taught me lessons, I just hope.... our world doesn't end that way.. 'Cuz it surely is going full sails ahead smoothly in that direction...
This song isn’t for people who lost things and it wasn’t their fault, it’s for people who lost things and recognizes it’s their fault and they can never go back to what they had before
I've done Red dead redemption 2 8 times, and before I played cyberpunk, I thought rdr had the best storyline. Now, I know, that storyline is a hundred times better in cyberpunk.
This game is 100 certified and IDGAF about the bugs and crashes coming from a PS4 user in Cali this game hit got some many things right....this game is what you call a uncut gem💯
Same guys. PS4 pro. Not as many but still plenty of problems. Still, this game, the soundtrack, the characters, I feel like I've been playing this game my whole life. It hits every heartstring.
I started as corpo and ended up siding with the Aldecados. Didn't give Johnny my body. I know Alt told me 6 months to live but if there's anything Silverhand taught corpo V was to never stop fighting and that's what my character did. Never stop fighting even in the face of inminent death and when you die, then die on your own terms.
There's an unexplainable fear and sadness to this version. Sort of makes you think about how unforgiving Night City is as an entity. Some people just aren't cut out for it.
I've never been so emotionally invested in a game. My first run lasted 130 hours. I've never been able to start another one, because of the reminiscences I still feel from that first run. From the level The bells of Laguna bend, the game entered a whole new dimension. I was in Night city. This was no longer a game. And this will never fade away.
I feel the same pain as you. I don’t think I could ever bring myself to start another play through due to how deeply connected I felt to my first V. While the ending didn’t hit me as hard as I wanted it to, it was the moments with the characters that hit me the hardest, the journey. It sounds silly, but I feel regret for not getting hit as hard as I wanted to from the aldecaldo ending and especially Johnny saying goodbye to me, but the game clearly was special to me if I put about 200 hours into my first run. Starting another run just… wouldn’t feel the same, and it might just end up feeling empty for me…
The endings hit hard for me cause I can relate to V as a character. Now not on every level of course but in terms of personality, yeah, I have lost friends too, sometimes I feel hopeless but keep going, and I wonder what kind of memory I'll leave behind and etc. That's why I love V, hes such a relatable character to many. And really does remind you of the human condition and how fragile we really are. Sometimes you gotta look death in the face and spit, because no matter what, itll eventually catch up with you so make your time here worth it. Think about it, if you had 6 months to live, what would you do?
Johnny: "ahh V... " *Takes V's neckless off* "Can't carry this around anymore ya know.. can't keep wallowing, can't keep obsessing over what happened, couldn't forget you anyway.. I'm wearing your goddamn face..." "Thanks for... Huh... well.. for everything " *Puts V's neckless in a grave* "I'm wiser now and I don't plan to waste it so this is goodbye"
This played during moments of death and/or remembrance. V, Evelyn, johny every loss this was it's orchestra. this song is about inevitably, you can't control the stop of something that you never had control to start. How we can only prolong inevitable situation that we never asked for, think about it. No one asked tombe born but then we ask not to die despite death being something that faces everyone in the face. Coming to terms with loss of anything is difficult but this song shows that the only way to keep someone at our sides when they're gone is to remember them, this version of the is like remembering johny, eveyln, v. While they are gone the faint memory of them might be enough to keep them with us.
I can't get enough of this song. I, like many people here have been touched by this games story. It's such a tragedy. From my experience playing Cyberpunk Red, (the tabletop roleplaying game), this games story is so fitting to the setting. There are almost never happy endings, just morbidly beautiful stories of the fight to survive.
Man this segment of the game was so emotional. It's literally gives emotional vibes like the games rdr2,tlou gave to people. I am sad that people missed out s great story because game performed poorly.
been looking for this version for so fucking long man. cdpr really fuckin nailed the emotion with this game idgaf about the bugs or missing features, the music, the story, no game's made me feel the way 2077 did.
I'm still working on the game slowly but I recently turned 21 and this song is as bitter and somber as I can describe the city where I live in. Dear old L.A isn't too far gone as night city, it strips a human from all of their will and continues to swallow them whole. I finally understand why the quality of life here will never improve here, I hope to move away one day but I don't think I will never ever stop feeling empty. In memorial to all the V's who let their Johnny take over. Never fade away you guys.
Ah, V... Can't keep wallowing...can't keep obsessing over what happened. Couldn't forget you anyway...I'm wearing your goddamn face. Thanks, V. For...heh...well, for everything. I'm wiser now, and I don't intend to waste it, so this is goodbye. *V* *Dreamer*
In the end, everyone who took blaze of glory ended with absolutely nothing, whereas those whom choose quiet life(Lucy in Edgerunners, V if sided with Nomads, or Tower ending, or Johnny in this one) ended with something. Looks like it really was a quiet life in the end
Cyberpunk is literally the most emotional game i ever played. This game made me feel everything so hard, but the sad moments were the most hitting holy fuck
Truly an epic title. Story is phenomenally written. Phantom Liberty was the cherry on top. Here's to Cyberpunk 2! See you all in the Major Leagues chooms!
I completely lost it when this started playing. Thank you for uploading. Despite major hiccups, I consider this one of the best games I’ve ever played and I’m grateful for the experience. Now let’s start a new save. 🤘🏻
Every once in awhile I come back and let this place the guitar was just hitting too beautifully to not have it on replay with the ominous vocals in the background a true piece of music truly.
I recently played out this ending for the first time. This soundtrack combined with V's grave hit me so hard I just had to sit there for a good minute.
There are no heroes in Night City. Only Legends. There are people who try and fuck do they try... but they never win. The City pushes everyone to the edge and you either go out in a blaze of glory or live long enough to lose everything that matters. The 'Good' Cops that don't die fighting corruption go crooked. The Doctors and Nurses that don't break from the daily flood of rent metal, death, blood and guts just go private- their oaths forsaken unless you pay them to care. The Rockers that take to the streets to fight corporate colonialism and maddening chaos- uniting people to seek a better future, they either die young or live to see their message lost, misinterpreted, ignored and forgotten. Johnny did both in a way. Went out in a Blaze of Glory and 55 years later his name scars the city streets; but nothing has changed. He changed nothing. The City scrugged him off and continued its freefall without him. He is not a hero. Heroes save the girl- not trap them in cyberspace. Heroes kill the Evil Emperor- not watch them order their death. Heroes make the world a better place- not make it worse. Heroes are the kind of people who wouldn't sacrifice themselves for someone who didn't deserve a second chance... they won't be that stupid. And that's what breaks Johnny. He can think of a billion reasons why he shouldn't have been saved. Why V should have taken their body back and let him fade away beyond the Blackwall. All the reasons why he had absolutely no reason to come back after ruining so many lives. But there he is. Standing before the memorial of V. The only friend they had left and the only hero Night City would ever know. Cause there are no heroes in Night City. Only Legends.
I love the day to night transition in this. The bit of music that plays during the “day” part of the video is great…but there’s something about the “night” part. I love it.
It's nice to see people who appreciate CYBERPUNK as much as I do for a change. So many complain about its launch and a few glitches they're working out, but I've never played a game with such human bonding and emotional aspects. It was incredible how many countries they linked with it personally as well. The release was rushed, but they were literally getting death threats. I think the ones complaining are also just used to shoot 'em ups. Cyberpunk is deep and they missed that part. Some of us want more than to roam around killing NPC's.
Totally agree here! I experienced some bugs, but not near as much as I heard other people did. All of that aside, the things this game did right (story and music) were AMAZING, in my opinion. This wasn’t the ending I did on my first playthrough. (I did the Aldecaldo ending). There was one particular part of that ending that really resonated with me. I’m a healthcare worker and had had a particularly sh**y week. I completed that quest on my day off and when “Breathe Free” popped up on the screen…it was something I needed to see. This game nailed it with emotions.
@@JH-jj9zf It sure did. Too many people complain about tiny stuff and miss the big picture. @@beeinthehive Totally agree. Do I think it could have been better? Absolutely I do. But even with the bugs, I’d put it near the top of my list. The soundtrack (both the background music like this one…as well as the radio stations) are an absolute favorite for sure. My take is that while they could have done better on some things (or many, depending on how you look at it), the things they did right, were RIGHT. I saw something about the soundtrack being nominated for best score awards. Well deserved in my opinion.
@@JH-jj9zf Right. They're fixing the bugs too, but that isn't good enough for them. Did you know that the creators were getting death threats because they were taking too long releasing it? I'd be in a hurry to release it too. I think they were going to do several things differently but we're worried. I agree, man. The best score ever. The best game ever, and that's including Skyrim. No game has ever made me tear up before Cyberpunk. It is definitely the best game ever to me.
At this point right now im pretty sure that somewhere out there them cd project red devs are sitting, listening to this song thinking what could've been if... if they didn't launch that game when they did but instead delay it one more year.. i mean sure yeah that extra year would be hell because everyone would trash them for such a long delay, BUT... when the game would finally come out polished and just the way it is right now, not only people would forgive them that they had to wait that long but also the game would become the best game of the century right away... seriously no other game or movie made me feel the way this game did.. i never cared this much about any fictional character ever before.. i stopped playing it week ago and its still in my head.. truly a masterpiece.. really sad that it has this rough beginning and that it took me 2 years to finally give it a try....
I haven't had that nostalgic feeling of wonder and adventure since I played Skyrim. But Cyberpunk has revived it, there's just something in the world that makes it all feel far bigger and vast. The world is well fleshed out with thousands of people roaming the city with many quests and questlines to do yet people complain "what we do doesn't actually change anything" We'll is skyrim any different? That's the thing with RPG games they always tell you that your actions change the world but in reality the world changes us. We get absorbed into it we adapt and learn as we gain more knowledge of said world. But in the end of the day we never actually care about that it's truly the adventure that is most important not some mindless pay to win multiplayer where skins are more important than the game itself. No cyberpunk is different its alive and has a story which drives US forward just as we drive IT. May this masterpiece never fade away. Now wake the f### up samurai, you have a city to burn. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
I played the game when I was quarantined in December 2020. During that time, my life revolved around this game. I really enjoyed it and it was a great experience!
I find myself coming back to this song, 10 months down the line, right before phantom liberty comes out, i hope its fantastic. After the year ive had i need something like this.
After finishing the game on all endings, while the nomad one is my favorite and don’t fear the reaper is probably the “best,” Johnny taking the body hit me the hardest by far
First ending I chose was to throw away the pills and I sat at my computer with tears in my eyes because I've been at that spot before. I still remember what it felt like. I didn't chose that ending for myself in real life obviously but it was a relatable scene.
I'm so glad CDPR didn't cave under all the hate they got. Bro real talk what have you been doing for 400 hours. I beat the main storyline and all the side quests in like 50 hours. Did all the side content in another 50. In total I got 100 hours in the game and there's nothing else to do

I remember doing the mission where you go to Johnny’s grave and it was so emotional when this started playing
Because in the end, only one can survive. And if not, they both die.
This also plays when Jackie passes away in the Delamain.

Cyberpunk 2077:
Johnny: "Goodbye, V. And never stop fighting'."
Phantom Liberty:
Johnny: "G'night Vincent/Valerie. Today was a good day."
"Not askin' ya to never give up. Sometimes you gotta let go..."
The night transition was cool AF.
Rest in peace, V.

Finished the game, johnny took v's body, he went to leave a memento for v, this song started playing and I burst into tears

Was looking for this for a while. This version is so dope man. This is the penultimate choice for the best moment in the game. “You’re my friend V, and don’t you forget it” “never stop fighting “
Idc what anybody says, forget the bad launch. Best/most emotional RPG I’ve played in awhile.
Tbh this story is better than most movies today. Loved it and Keanu was incredible.
Cyberpunk 2077... is literally the single game that I won't ever stop playing... it became an integral part of my life, affected my character, taught me lessons, I just hope.... our world doesn't end that way.. 'Cuz it surely is going full sails ahead smoothly in that direction...
This song isn’t for people who lost things and it wasn’t their fault, it’s for people who lost things and recognizes it’s their fault and they can never go back to what they had before
Cyberpunk is most definitely the best story I’ve ever played… it touched my soul
Cyberpunk has one of the best stories in gaming history to me.
I've done Red dead redemption 2 8 times, and before I played cyberpunk, I thought rdr had the best storyline. Now, I know, that storyline is a hundred times better in cyberpunk.
Love this cover. Love this game. Even with all its problems!
Peace and Love from Cali
This game is 100 certified and IDGAF about the bugs and crashes coming from a PS4 user in Cali this game hit got some many things right....this game is what you call a uncut gem💯
Same guys. PS4 pro. Not as many but still plenty of problems. Still, this game, the soundtrack, the characters, I feel like I've been playing this game my whole life. It hits every heartstring.
Fell In love with this story and characters, the endings haunt me, I want a sequel/prequel and spin-offs
Despite the bugs and glitches, the story itself is impeccable.
130? Tf were you doing I did all the major side quests, main quest line and like 70% of the side content in 60 hours
*Takes V's neckless off*
"Can't carry this around anymore ya know.. can't keep wallowing, can't keep obsessing over what happened, couldn't forget you anyway.. I'm wearing your goddamn face..."
"Thanks for... Huh... well.. for everything "
*Puts V's neckless in a grave*
"I'm wiser now and I don't plan to waste it so this is goodbye"
When this was playing during the Evelyn scene my V just was holding her on-screen for a good fifteen minutes before I could stop crying
Honestly story in this game is phenomenal, never loved characters more than this
One of the greatest Storys I've ever played and the memories will "never fade away"
"Here Lies Johnny Silverhand...."

That quote hits hard
Maybe with V's body Johnny could do more good in the world than V could do in 6 months if V kept the body.
What a truly pure form of sorrow, regret, and wistfulness this piece conveys.
"When we die we only become a memory"
"Tell me V, Quiet Life or Blaze of Glory?"
looks like in the end, it was the quiet life
Blaze Of Glory
In the end, everyone who took blaze of glory ended with absolutely nothing, whereas those whom choose quiet life(Lucy in Edgerunners, V if sided with Nomads, or Tower ending, or Johnny in this one) ended with something. Looks like it really was a quiet life in the end
I love the fact, that it's starting from complete silence and then... just like in the game 😢

Here lies Johnny Silverhand...
"The guy who saved my life"
"Night City Legend."
"Nightmare of Arasaka"
"The man who changed lives, took control into his hands. Who finally did what he wanted. Never Faded Away"
“Relentless Rockerboy”
Night city legends never die, they go out in a way that gives that one spark of hope in a otherwise bleak dark and destopian future.
Every once in awhile I come back and let this place the guitar was just hitting too beautifully to not have it on replay with the ominous vocals in the background a true piece of music truly.
That sound in the background of the guitar. That Like screeching sound… feels like a breath a fresh air while staring at the city.
A Thing of beauty...
Will never fade away...

The world is well fleshed out with thousands of people roaming the city with many quests and questlines to do yet people complain "what we do doesn't actually change anything"
We'll is skyrim any different?
That's the thing with RPG games they always tell you that your actions change the world but in reality the world changes us. We get absorbed into it we adapt and learn as we gain more knowledge of said world. But in the end of the day we never actually care about that it's truly the adventure that is most important not some mindless pay to win multiplayer where skins are more important than the game itself. No cyberpunk is different its alive and has a story which drives US forward just as we drive IT.
May this masterpiece never fade away. Now wake the f### up samurai, you have a city to burn.

"It is what it is"
What a absolute heartbreaker of a story.
I'm so glad CDPR didn't cave under all the hate they got. After all the updates and clocking nearly 400 hours I can easily say this has to be one of my Top 5 favorite games of all time, up there with the likes of Red Dead 2. I love everything about this game, the only thing I hate is that I'll never be able to experience it for the first time all over again.
Bro real talk what have you been doing for 400 hours. I beat the main storyline and all the side quests in like 50 hours. Did all the side content in another 50. In total I got 100 hours in the game and there's nothing else to do
You can hate and you can love cyberfixedbug, but we need to say, THE BEST IMMERSIVE GAME IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAMES
If i survive till the year 2077, i dont care why, how or how old I am, i will sit ontop of a skyscraper watch the city and just hear never fade away. Alone and just thinking about what ive done with my life and what the world has become. Then I would shed a last tear before going back down, because that would probably be the last moment in my life where i could just have a quiet thought by myself before I die.
