This is another variation of 'Never Fade Away' theme I found while playing the "Chippin' In" mission. It plays during the scene that takes place with V & Johnny in the oil fields.

#Cyberpunk2077 #OilFieldsTheme
This is the scene that took Silverhand from edgy asshole into genuine human being. The mask of the revolutionary rockstar fell apart, and you got to see a man who died before his time, filled with regrets, as he realizes he died unmourned, buried in an unmarked grave, everyone who knew and once loved him worse off for it.
And slowly realising how most people he considered friends couldnt even stand to be in the same room as him, I sort of was sympathizing with Johny early on and felt so bad when I found out how badly I screwed him over playing the Devil ending at first and only cuz I didnt want to risk Panam and I didnt realise I could take Rogue to the date and progress further with Johny as friends so I couldnt send him either
@@patrikdobradi509 He was so self centered that he never took the time to see how other people were affected by him, and when he was "riding the backseat" while V was in control, it hit him like a ton of bricks.

"The guy who saved my life".
"Of all the heads I coulda popped up in, hella glad it was yours"
man this ost hits so hard in 1:49.
This game literally changed my life, I love cyberpunk2077
not only yours mine to since 2020 when i first listen to this Masterpiece❤❤🔥🔥
this is the first game i’d genuinely give ANYTHING to experience for the first time again.
i’ve played a lot of good games, from Halo, to GOW, RDR2, The Witcher series.
but this is the only game i’ve genuinely felt emotionally connected to. this scene sold me on Silverhand. the endings were perfect yet heartbreaking.
Cyberpunk will forever hold a special place in my heart. beautiful soundtrack, story, characters. and will forever go down for me as the only game to genuinely make me cry, feel empty, yet also my happiest somehow. it’s a fucking masterpiece. Mike Pondsmith, CDPR, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for a fucking perfect game.
I only wish we got more than 1 DLC.
other than that this game was an emotional rollercoaster of pure perfection.
I agree bro, man this game is insanely good, I don't understand how this game doesn't get the recognition it deserves, it is simply the best game I ever played, just like you said, it connect us to the world like only a few games can.
@@andrefelipe2643 I remember sitting there on that basilisk with Panam during the Aldecaldo ending then getting the Credits with THAT cover of Never Fade Away and Iswtg I think I cried
Love cyberpunk aswell. One other game that has had me emotional is The Last of Us Part I (& 2) if you haven’t played. Try it.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I played Cyberpunk during a midlife crisis and the entire game absolutely took me in and changed my entire outlook of life. It was absolutely enthralling and playing the game every year or so is my new therapy.
Hearing this as Johhny puts V's necklace in his grave is heartbreaking
This song only plays 2 times in the game and both times it plays in a moment where you have essentially failed your goal or find out that your goal was always unattainable but soon after realize you can continue in a new direction and that their is hope.
also 1:43 plays at johnnys grave (here) and v's grave
Pretty sure it plays when youre sitting on the roof after evelyn kills herself
Which 2 times?
@@HaloDude557 at Johnny's grave in the oil fields and at the columbarium in either ending where Johnny either takes V's body or the other way around If I recall
@@duffinthemuffin5792 yea I remember that but I don’t see how it has to do with failure
the two most immersive moments, in a game full of immersion
"Not asking you to never give up, sometimes you gotta let go."
"You don't make a name as a cyberpunk by how you live, you're remembered by how you die". This theme hits so much deeper than original Never fade away. Behind the glamorous night city, there is Johnny's grave left behind in the oil field just like a pile of trash, that no one could even bother remembering anymore, they live on. "There is no happy ending in nightcity", doesn't matter if its Johnny, V, or David, they all had something in common, is that they accepted their fate. The despair feeling I felt from this song was like after giving all youve got and still wont be able to change the outcome made me really felt it deep.
Even those brave enough to stand up to the oppression this world faces are destined to be forgotten. Its too far gone. Far beyond the possibility of salvation.
i just noticed the red thing in the bottom right
this was taken from actual gameplay and it looks stunning
I dare to say Cyberpunk 2077 is the best looking video game I've played so far, and I've played quite a lot of them. One of those games where you can really appreciate what your hardware can handle.
This is the mission that really sold me on Silverhand
Fr. The tower’s gotta go
"The Guy Who Saved My Life" What an Line 😥😥
Edit: Still my G.O.A.T.Y since 2020 December
"So that's it then...nothing here at all."
Here lies Johnny Silverhand, the guy who saved my life.
It's just some place with some guy buried under it, that is why it hurts.
"Today was a good day"
Johny and V just might be my favorite redemption/friend dynamic in fiction.
❤❤🔥🔥 without a Doubt
This universe is special keep up the great work Choom
Fuck .Now i want to replay that masterpice......
When I listen to the 1:49 drop... it makes me cry. I don't know why, but it is sad.
V and Johnny: *have a heartfelt convo*
Also V: *takes betablockers* "damn his metal arm will sell for good on ebay, better dig around"
This happens when you play this mission and when you give Johnny your body ending, See Robert John Linder Isn’t just the relentless rocker boy people say he is, He’s a person with a troubled past, always messes things up with people, reminds me of myself. Love this game and Love silverhand
rest in peace silverhand
My life sucks right now
@canaldodorn839 Life sucks ass in general. But even the worst days can have something good in 'em, just gotta be willing to look for it choom.
There's a little beauty in everything/one.
1:45 and 3:59 are just so good
I don’t usually play games with the audio, as I listen to music n shit, but when I came back to this mission and heard this, can’t even describe how it made me feel
The guy who saved my life
Night City Legend
1:49 kinda reminds me of new dawn fades by joy division
messes me up every time
Love that they used New Dawn Fades and Transmission for gig titles. JD was before their time.
I saw a lot of teeth in this video.
Maybe showing more teeth will make me my fortune.
I feel like im already dead, thats nothing in this life that compare to this game, its been a year since i last played it, its all so empty, so pointless, i feel like a ghost
would have been a perfect fit with edgerunners, what a beautiful show shame it was rushed a bit. could have been 15 ep long at least!
Hell yeah, I'd have been down for another 20 episodes! But I'm not sure if the story would've hit the same way then.
I'm glad it was kept short and sweet. no time felt wasted, that it all served a purpose and established the bonds the team had. I feel anything else would've been padding for time. Here's to that fucking city, and more stories to come from it!
This song wouldnt have fit the edgerunners story imo. 2077 and edgerunners have completely different atmospheres imo. 2077 is supposed to have a more chilling and dark story and atmosphere whereas edgerunners is supposed to feel more vibrant in a way. So this perfectly fits 2077 imo. Also since its a different version of silverhands theme it wouldnt really make sense to have it in an anime that has nothing to do with silverhand
@@weeble4749 All killer no filler. The best kind of shows don't extend to pad for time or to explore side charectors. Its just one story with the max impact on the viewer
@@da_mikkel7052 "All killer no filler" fits the cyberpunk theme of going out with a bang
