I have this guitar It plays fantastic I have 27 guitars and this one has a great feel I changed the pic ups for Seymour Duncan's P rails triple shots and now it can play everything also has the ghost acoustic pic up on the bridge so it's a work horse if u play out like me covers it's a hidden gem love it....
first off, you're a phenomenal guitarist. second, this was a really well done video and demo, i'm surprised more people didn't see this. i feel like i'm sold on the pdf35....... a few questions: 1) is this guitar good for clean sounds that don't sound so "twangy"? this guitar seems so versatile but i didn't hear a super clean sound that i was looking for. (the kind you would find in contemporary christian music; but i was wanting to play all kinds of styles) 2) Also what was your setup for this video: amp, pedals, cords, etc
Thank you for the comment and kind words, I appreciate it. To answer your questions: 1) Yes, I think you can get the clean tone you're looking for out of this guitar. It may take some playing around with the tone knob and pickup selector, but it's probably in there. The amp you use can be a big part of that sound as well. One thing to note, the light body and 25.5" scale length will naturally give this guitar a little brighter or "twangy" tone than say a LP style guitar, but that's certainly not the only kind of tone it can do. 2) For this video it was just the guitar going into my Peavey Vypyr Tube 60 amp. All effects and amp models were internal to the Vypyr. For a few of the piezo parts it was the guitar going into the Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator pedal, then into a DI box. I'm considering doing a follow up video to this one to answer some of the questions people have had, and demonstrate a few things I may have missed the first time.
+Iguana Talk Audio 1) Thanks for replying. What kind of amp would you recommend to get the sounds you were showing us and also the clean one i was looking for? 2) What is a DI box? thanks.
Hey cool fat sound dude r u useing the peavey or Eganator r u useing pedals I have one of these and it has a super fast neck I put Seymour Duncans triple shot and P-rails on it which really fantastic sound thanks video
Hey, thanks for watching! I was using the Peavey Vypyr for this video. I think the only pedal I used was an acoustic simulator for some of the piezo demonstrations. Nice, I bet yours does sound fantastic with those pickups! Since this video I replaced the bridge pickup with a Dimarzio Super Distortion. 😎
sorry if im bothering you just wondering if you could have a look on ebay they are a 35 for sale is that the same as yours and is that a good price ,where was yours made is it not usa thanks again.
Shoot...it looks like they may have discontinued it now. I'm not finding it anymore either. :( Around $500 was the normal retail price for this guitar. I originally got mine for a bit less as a "B stock" or "blemish" item.
Thank you! The only "outboard" effect I used was the Boss acoustic simulator pedal. Everything else was from the amp models and effects available within the Peavey Vypyr itself.
Roughly the same weight, yes. However, the PDF30 does not have the piezo pickup in the bridge for the acoustic sounds. The piezo was one of the main reasons I decided on getting the 35.
From the top down there is a Berhinger V-Amp Pro, a Palmer PGA-04 speaker simulator, a stereo 15-band EQ, a 4-channel compressor, a stereo 31-band EQ, and a power conditioner. However, only the power conditioner was used in this particular video. :)
Ah, ok. The brand of that particular one is "Roadie". I think I had gotten it relatively cheap from a retailer on eBay some years back. There's lots out there. I recently got an "XSPRO" for some other gear and it's a much more solid rack than the "Roadie".
+Cooper F I don't have a Roadrunner bag to know for sure, but I think it should fit. I have a generic soft case and it fits in there fine. Thanks for checking out the video!
Iguana Talk Audio I assume your playing in drop d? And very nice video btw. I really like the piezo pick ups. They give the guitar a lot of flexibility.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I didn’t see one available on eBay when I looked, but neither the PDF30 or 35 are USA made. And sorry, I don’t plan on selling mine anytime soon ;) I’m really disappointed to see they discontinued them, at one time I was considering buying a second one. I think they’re very versatile guitars. Good luck, and I hope you’re able to find one at some point. Thanks again for checking out the video and commenting. :)
Parker DragonFly - comes from name of original USA model with same body shape. Name was later changed to MaxxFly after a rights issue with another manufacturer but DF (USA) & PDF (Indonesia) model nomenclature was retained... ...or it could be Portable Document Format. Take your pick!!
Great demonstration. Thanks for taking the time to show lots of different pickup combinations and musical styles. VERY useful video.
Thank you, I'm glad you found it useful!
Thanks for the video and for recording the sound through PC. Great job!!!
Great tone! Nice playing too! I had a PDF85 and stupidly sold it. I'm gonna get me a PDF70 very soon.
Sweet setup and sound

thanks.
Heard some Bullet For My Valentine in there, too...
Been looking for a piezo-equipped guitar that isn't a signature model. Might give this one a look.
i love your metalcore riffs

Thank you. Unfortunately they seem to be discontinued now. :(
Your best bet would probably be on eBay or something like that.

what is the riff you're playing at the beginning of the video? I swear it sounds familiar but I cant place the song.
nice video. You sound like Father Guido Sarducci!
I think you and I are the only people in the world that own one of these.
i can't seem to find a parker pdf 35 anywhere and if i do they're $500.... do they not make these anymore or something?
Shoot...it looks like they may have discontinued it now. I'm not finding it anymore either. :(

+Iguana Talk Audio NVM!!! found one. brand new for $370 + shipping.... got lucky.....
hi again could u tell me how much you paid for the guitar thanks.
Cool Boston loop demo at the end of your video!
Thank you!
what effects r u using? sounds great!
Thank you! The only "outboard" effect I used was the Boss acoustic simulator pedal. Everything else was from the amp models and effects available within the Peavey Vypyr itself.

Maybe anybody knows what is the rack on background for equipment?

Iguana Talk Audio This is cool! But I'm interested in a manufacturer of the rack :)
I want the same for myself.
Ah, ok. The brand of that particular one is "Roadie". I think I had gotten it relatively cheap from a retailer on eBay some years back. There's lots out there. I recently got an "XSPRO" for some other gear and it's a much more solid rack than the "Roadie".
Thanks for your detailed review of the rack! :)
how thin is the body and neck?
does this guitar fit in a normal roadrunner gigbag?
+Cooper F I don't have a Roadrunner bag to know for sure, but I think it should fit. I have a generic soft case and it fits in there fine. Thanks for checking out the video!
Was that Rose of Sharyn by Killswitch Engage i heard?
Yes it was. :)
Although this guitar is in a different tuning than the real song.
Iguana Talk Audio I assume your playing in drop d? And very nice video btw. I really like the piezo pick ups. They give the guitar a lot of flexibility.
if you are ever selling that guitar will you let me know thanks man

What does "PDF" mean?
Parker DragonFly - comes from name of original USA model with same body shape. Name was later changed to MaxxFly after a rights issue with another manufacturer but DF (USA) & PDF (Indonesia) model nomenclature was retained...
...or it could be Portable Document Format. Take your pick!!
ok thanks again
