Reading some of the comments here I'm reminded of how much proponents of peace strike absolute terror in the hearts of many of their fellow human beings. Definitely something that warrants silent contemplation.

Thanks for posting this excellent film / time capsule from 2007. The group at first makes our meetings sound boring, and I find them to be anything but. However, as the conversation moves on, I believe the Friends are hitting on the important points to give the students a sense of who we are. Here's an underlying factor, a common denominator: as we come together at meetings in "expectant listening," and since Quakerism is a living, evolving religion, so too we realize the first part of community is listening to others. The elder here who spoke of the office of Quakers at the UN Building reminded me of this. Earlier in the video, I'm not sure I agree with the member who said women did not minister from the get-go. What about Margaret Fell? Thank you again. Very informative and I believe well-represents our unprogrammed meeting right here in Indiana, Midwest, USA.

My father was a Quaker. His relationship with Jesus was central. He truly lived out the principles of the Bible.

why don't you try other Religions when you're convert from Christianity to Christianity and that if you were Christians. Because, they are Christians they didn't come up nothing different from the old Christian Religion.

@@jacobsaint1874 yeah I lost my faith 4 or 5 years ago but there are times when exposed to the Quakers or Unitarians and seeing their practice of compassion, social justice, tolerance, and no discrimination that I think "may not be Biblical literalist, but this is a culture I would be proud to be part of". but how to overcome the athiest mind and arguements is the challenge i have hehe! :) and always did have even when I considered myself a Christian Deist with some Agnostics leanings.

@@basraabdulle3526 lot of truth to what you just said Basra. I suppose the obstacle I have to even wanting to convert to Quakerism or Unitarianism is my problems with A LOT of the content in the Bible from the King James Bible, to Book of Leviathan, Book of Leviticus, when it comes to other religions I'm disturbed by the caste system, with Islam when I see the kind Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other states export the extreme Wahabi Salafist movements to destroy Syria and elsewhere and read the contents it frightens me and if not that when I meet folk who attend normal mainstream branches but are still very socially conservative and they bring up "what's in the Koran" and I see the same passages they are quoting not out of context, it makes me think I'm better off just not being a believer, but being tolerate of people from different walks of lifes and cultures and subcultures. but who knows! maybe someday I won't be scared anymore, God comes to me, my faith restored and I'll be part of either Quakerism or Unitarianism. or who knows! as John Lennon said "life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Quakers, it new to me, but after, I read and listen what is their main idea, I can see, they are a group of people, who wants to see if they can make any sense about their Religion of Christianity, but, then again, if you look at it, they are trying to solve the problems of their Religion of Christianity, because of the years most of people figure it out that it's just getting boring to go to the Churchs anymore, because, there are no Idea what Christianity is teaching people and after, many researchers look into the Christian Religion they learn that almost everything in the Christian Religion is either just like any other Books that a normal writer write, and is not the real Religion that Prophet Jesus AS come with and they changed almost all the Words in the original script that Prophet Jesus AS bring down with him. Prophet Jesus AS and his Book didn't call the name Bible or the Word Christianity is not actually in the Holy Spirit of the Religion of Prophet Jesus AS. So, Christians are trying to make new names so the Christian Religion won't be bore and people would say hey wait a minute, NJ ow there are new founders in Christianity. But, what they don't realize any lie has time after that time people will cauch up, and what is more important is that nowadays people are not like centuries ago where people were so humble to except and respect Religion and whoever believe Religion, but, people are Now getting very smart and they won't waste their time something that is not real with proven track record in the Holy scripts that should be from our Creator. For example, like the Holy Qur'aan had many proves and clear easy, simple to understand, which is why many people are reading the Holy Qur'aan nowadays and many more are becoming increasingly popular to Islam and many many People are becoming Muslims. I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings but, after I read not all Quakers Religion, but some, and also, listen to them it was clear it's not new Religion and they are still saying we are still Christians, and they are not adding any new information in Christianity or the Bible and everything is still the same, except the new name which they call ( Quarters) but = Christianity?
But, at the end it's still same nothing changes in reality.

so not believing in Christ ? or the Bible?...a close connection to God is in all Christianity. What is good and right is readable in the Bible.

    Accepting “Family” as the 10th.Testimony
The Quaker testimonies of Equality and Justice have failed in the family. Fathers and children are at a disadvantage with many having been lost to each other. 45% of UK school age children do not now live under the same roof as their father.
Quakers and their testimonies constitute a feminist/woke institution that does not accept this as being a problem, never addressing it. It is more likely to do so if “Family” is accepted as a Testimony on the understanding that children’s natural maturation process has 3 essential stages of need.
    A. The unconditional love of the mother from birth until about 7 years of age.
    The mother must have “thefinalsay”
    B. The conditional love of the father, who takes his children out into the world, gives security and teaching social boundaries from 7 until about 13 years of age.
    The father must have “thefinalsay”.
C.The friendship and respect of their peers from 13 until 18 years of age.
    The child must have “thefinalsay”.
If these 3 stages are not sequence in order, maturation is unlikely to be achieved and mental resilience reduced. This has now become generational.
Such a regime of equal and just parenting rights (over time) would bind parents into a co-operative relationship, because (over time) each will hold the power of “thefinalsay” sequentially when it is needed and best favoured to use it.
Such family protocols need to be the default position, (allowing love, courtesy and humour to prevail) but could in exceptional cases be varied by the courts.
    Buckminster Fuller said:-
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete”.
To alleviate suffering is worthy. To prevent it is divine, but thankless.

The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, and it is a fool who trusts in his heart. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. He who has the Son has life, he who has not the Son of God has not life. Jesus Christ said I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes unto the Father but by me. These people unfortunately have not rejected people or religion but God and his revelation to mankind the Bible. We cannot trust our own hearts, the standard and foundation of all truth for the human race is the revealed word of God. The word religion in the Greek is threskos, it means to worship God in fear;to tremble. When you have a genuine encounter with the one true God by his Spirit that just comes naturally. These people seem like nice people with good intentions but unfortunately that means nothing in the eyes of the God and Creator of all things. You must be born again of the Spirit of God to worship him in Spirit and in truth. Our emotion and experience is just that(emotion and carnal experience and not spiritual though it may seem that way), and can be highly deceptive. Don’t forget also there are dark spirits, rebellious against God who present themselves to mankind as angels of light to take them captive and destroy their souls. Gods message to us is contained in his inspired word the Bible and it is this: God is perfect and his standards are perfect, he is also perfect in his judgement. The Ten Commandments are his moral law that he has even wrote on our hearts(conscience). We’ve all broken these commandments, we’ve all lied, stolen, dishonored our parents, taken his name in vain-Jesus said if you look with lust you’ve committed adultery in your heart and if you hate your brother your a murderer at heart. So God will judge you by the secret things of your heart and will do so perfectly. If a judge on earth released the guilty without punishment we would call him corrupt, God is a perfectly just judge who will punish our sins against a Holy and eternal God with an eternal punishment in hell. Again he is perfect in every way, including mercy so he entered into his own creation in the person of Jesus Christ the Son of God-fully God and fully man, and he lived a perfect sinless life fulfilling his own perfect standard which we’ve all failed at. After doing so he gave himself as the perfect sacrifice on the cross, taking upon himself the wrath of God and punishment we justly deserve, satisfying Gods perfect justice so that all who would repent(forsake your sins)and believe you are justified because of Jesus Christ’s righteousness(not your own)would be granted eternal life as a free gift. Our sins punished on the cross of Christ, his righteousness imputed to us as if we lived his perfect life. If standing in that same courtroom you were guilty and owed a huge fine that you could never pay but someone stepped in a paid it for you, the judge could let you go even though you’re guilty because your fine has been paid. (That’s why Jesus said it is finished(paid in full)just before he died).God will do the same on judgement day for all those who believe in the Saviour. He rose from the dead proving he is God and that his sacrifice is acceptable before the Father and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father reigning as we speak. He will return and judge the world in righteousness at the appointed time. Repent and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved, God has extended his mercy to all who believe. He will give you a new heart, change your desires and make you a new creature in Union with Christ, acceptable before him and declared righteous by your faith in the righteousness of Christ. Please give this some thought, this is the only true God and salvation given to mankind. No one can know the day of their death, could be tomorrow or next week and then we enter into eternity. We will be judged and held accountable by our Maker for this life and the only mercy given is in the Lord Jesus Christ and the blood of his cross. I pray God bless whoever would read this with saving faith, grace and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord
