An impressive amount of passion and dedication have gone into this and it certainly shows. Looking forward to your next project: a shrink ray so you can ride your creations PS that slow mo shot *chefs kiss*
Woah! Why did this take so long to get recommended to me. This is amazing! The trains look very realistic, and I live how they swing. Again amazing job!
Amazing work! Too bad the numbers of them are dwindling in the wild. Just as a side request, if you make a second version, it would be awesome to see a corkscrew like the original concept had intended. Keep the passion alive!
this dropkicked me back to the Last Season of Big Bad Wolf. We rolled into the station singing "Who's Afraid" and I think we got the WHOLE DANG TRAIN in on it. I wonder if some Damping Grease on the car swing pivots would damp out the wild swinging out of the turns without completely killing the dynamic
I unfortunately didn't make it out to this part of the States (VA) in time to ride BBW, but that's an awesome memory! Also, that's a great suggestion on the damping, I couldn't think of an simple solution at the time but I think that may work, thanks!
The rails are made from polyethylene tubing which can be found at most hardware stores. I used a small tool that my brother and I designed to cut a slot out of the rails. If you have the means of 3d printing, I shared the files of this tool on thingiverse (www.thingiverse.com/thing:6028353). Have a good one!
Always loved the Arrow suspended coasters - this excellent project reminds me why. Bravo! If you're ever up for it, I'd love to see some 'behind the scenes' vids on the design process - reference materials used for scale, design tools used (thought I saw Fusion 360 quickly in one of the vids), 3D printing considerations, etc. I know it's a ton of work, but just putting it out there that at least one person out here would be interested in that kind of info 🙂
Thanks for the great comment! I've thought about doing a big behind the scenes video, but sometimes get nervous that it wouldn't be the kind of video people would watch, but it's people like you that get me excited and hopeful that a video like that could be appreciated. It may take a bit to be made, but I would like to make this happen!
@@3dcoaster I would definitely watch it. I'm a huge fan of Arrow these suspended coasters are amazing, and the few that are left are national treasures. I'm toying with the idea of building a model coaster.. Any help would be welcomed. Amazing job by the way...
@@3dcoaster I'd certainly watch it. It might be a niche video, but it would be super appreciated to those of us who like that kind of content. And damn.... Those trains are super beautiful. Makes me miss Big Bad Wolf so much.
That would be sweet, they're very aesthetically pleasing coasters! An invert may be possible, but I'm pretty constrained on space so a hyper probably would not be possible for some time.
Good question, we (my brother and I) did design a jig of sorts a couple years ago for the rails. It's kind of like a utility knife that holds two blades at a set distance which you pull over a piece of tubing to slice a section out
Love all the angles!
My son was playing with my Lego Coaster, and I told him I have a friend who designs these. He loved the video! Awesome work.
Hey thanks Kyle, glad you all liked it!
You can just tell this is a passion project. Looks like all that's left to do is give the coaster a sick nighttime lighting package. Great Work! :)
Hey thanks, and yea a lighting package would be awesome!
Amazing!
The swinging of the cars is great.
I went on the Big Bad Wolf at Bush Gardens when I was a little kid. Excellent job! Whoa!
That's frigging AWSOME

Hey, thanks so much! It did take a while but thanks for noticing and appreciating those little details!
this is so cool, it is cool to see you uploading again

Hey thanks so much!
It was a bit of a labor of love, but I was happy with how the trains turned out and glad you like them as well!
Wow! Looks great! I would love to have a giant coaster hanging on my ceiling!
Thanks! Yea, it was pretty fun having it fly over the bed and around the room!
i know you're working on a 4d coaster. i just wanna say i believe in you.

Thanks, and inversions, would be really cool... stay tuned....!

this is insane!!
Thanks!

maybe a tiny rubber band or leaf spring would work. try to smooth the track and make the change of curvature more gradual.
sick!
we have one of these at canadas wonderland and its everyones favorite coaster its just so great
I heard Vortex is most likely the best suspended coaster still standing, glad to hear it's a favorite!
@@3dcoaster i heard that too and yes it’s really good smooth and fast lots of g force
owowow nice looks cool
An authentic Batman and/or Superman coaster is now possible
Where do you get your rails from? I also noticed that you used a device to slit the rails. What is that called?

is the track system yours? and if it is do you plan to ever sell the prints?
The track system is mine/custom, and at this time I don't have any plans to sell anything, though I have thought about it

I would definitely want to see a video of the how did you design, build, source, the build of the coaster track and train.
I would love to see you make a hyper or a b&m invert

How do you put the slots in the rails and keep everything even? Do you have a jig?
Good question, we (my brother and I) did design a jig of sorts a couple years ago for the rails. It's kind of like a utility knife that holds two blades at a set distance which you pull over a piece of tubing to slice a section out
When will you upload again😢?
it would be amazing if you did the 1981 to 83 Bat at king's island with the two corkscrews.
Stay tuned... :)
How did you make a go pro suspension
I mounted the go pro with some duct tape to a swinging platform in place of the train
Hi I am making my own roller coaster and I have a guestion what are the rails made of?
Hey neato! These rails are made from polyethylene tubing. Hope you have success on your model!
@@3dcoaster thank you
you're really not going to include a continuous pov shot of the whole ride? 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
That was last week's video
Awesome!!
