This boss fight is based on luck. For you can't ALWAYS flying swallow her all the time for it is random. Alma is still one of the best boss designed fights in any game, she feels like a real thinking A.i
I think that if you keep your distance for a while, she will become vulnerable. At least, that worked for me when I tried this method (I tested this method after recording this video). I also think that the brightness of its core might have something to do with not being able to damage it.
