Sharing another easy way to cook PORK HAMONADO ROLL / Filipino Style Pork Roll. Pork Hamonado is one of the popular Filipino dish served mostly on holidays or special occasion. It is a pork roll stuffed with hotdog/sausage, pineapple, pickles and carrots. Slow cooked in sweet and tangy sauce. Here is a simple and easy way to cook Pork Hamonado. Here is how to cook PORK HAMONADO ROLL :
PORK HAMONADO ROLL RECIPE :
Ingredients:
2 lb pork tenderloin
For marinade:
2 cups pineapplejuice
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 tsp pepper
For Filling:
4 ham
2 hotdogs - cut into half lengthwise
2 medium carrot - cut into sticks
2 pieces pickles - cut lengthwise
pineapple chunks
For the sauce:
1 large onion, chopped
7 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 cup pineapple chunks
5 dried bay leaves
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp pepper
For breading:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Others:
Kitchen twine to secure the pork roll
Directions:
1. Place pork on a plastic wrap. Using a mallet, pound the pork to flatten and tenderize.
2. Combine pork, pineapple juice, soy sauce and pepper in a bowl. Marinate in the fridge for an hour or overnight.
3. Remove the pork from the marinade. Reserve the marinade.
4. Arrange the ham, hotdog, carrots, pickles and pineapple chunks over beef.
5. Roll the pork into a log.
6. Tie the pork roll with kitchen twine
7. Dredge the pork roll into flour mixture
8. In a large pan, heat oil over medium high heat. Sear the pork roll until browned on all sides.
9. Discard oil leaving 2 tbsp oil. Add onion and garlic, Cook until fragrant.
10. Add the reserved marinade, bring to a boil for 5 mins.
11. Add beef broth, bay leaves, brown sugar and pepper. Stir until sugar dissolves.
14. Add back the pork rolls.
14. Cover and turn the heat to low. Let it simmer for 30 to 45 mins or until beef is fork tender. Stir occasionally and turning the pork roll.
15. Remove pork roll from the pan.
16. Sauce is reduced and thickens. Add pineapple chunks. Turn off the heat.
17. Remove the kitchen twine then slice the pork roll.
18. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
19. Serve and Enjoy!
