First thing my friend... level it and bolt it down. I've been a Millwright for 45 years, and take my advice, it will minimize your troubles. Respectfully, Seth
As a serious home hobby user of manual mills and lathes, I would love to see step by step videos from you of the full process of getting parts out this machine, starting from the software aspect.
I have this (new 2024) machine and have been pretty happy with it so far. Just finished first run of my own products in 6061 and 303 and the machine didn't miss a beat. I'm seriously thinking about adding a HRT160 4th axis in the next few months.
Did both of you guys set your machines 36" from the wall? Mine comes on Tuesday and I'd really like to place it 24" from the wall.. at 36" it will look like its in the middle of my garage
How's your chip auger? I've never really been super impressed with haas chip augers but man the one on my mini is next level worthless. I'm switching to inserted shoulder mills to rough aluminum because I can't get the chips out of this thing
I'm also very interested in this machine. Is it worth the money or is al larger second machine maybe a better option. If this will cut steel and hold tolerance I would consider one.
Which Phase converter and air compressor are you running? Wife and I have talked about a VF2 for years but I think the latest Super Mini Mill will work for us for now till we get a metal building put in our back yard for larger machines.
@@FishingWithHoang super ini is 3 phase, standard tm and mm can run single phase, that can be a nice costs savings when starting up not having to purchase convertors, my first TM i would open the garage door and unplug the cloths dryer when i needed to run.
@@brianwaayenberg3099 Yeah it went over my head when I was asking about electrical. I've been eyeing on the new 2024 Super Mini. Mainly because of the side mount tool changer. But the sound of plugging and unplugging from the dryer connection sounds great.
@@FishingWithHoang i liked my 07 TM and it made good parts, but the VF is way more machine. you may not need that though, but the etras like the smtc and tsc are a big plus when you start getting into more production and times matter more,, side mount is just faster, and tsc lets you drill hole like a boss! i would not hesitate starting out with a mm or TM tho, start way cheaper, no phase convertors, if things pickup pay for that VF cash and get all the options!
@@BluCoastPrecision I wish I had some work for you. All my stuff is low profit/high volume. If you haven't already done so I'd reach out to some local anodizers. They usually get some requests for oddball low quantity machining work that none of the big shops are interested in.
My biggest question is what do your neighbors think of this, I'm thinking these are as loud as a full size machine so in your garage neighbors must love it.
I run full time in my garage. The neighbours definitely know I’m there, but be kind and it’s been ok You can be really quiet if needed. By when your making $$ sometimes your gonna need to push the cutters. Make sure to v install good filtering and ventilation as well. A small room fills up with fog and /or moisture really fast. Air filtering and the x change is key for long term health
@brianwaayenberg3099 For sure, man, I'm conscious of the neighbors and try to only run for a couple of hours in the afternoon so I don't annoy anyone. Yeah, I'm going to have to look for something soon. I'm hoping I won't have to work out of the garage for more than a year or two.
@@BluCoastPrecision i love garage life, my neighors are shockingly cool about me unning full time in the garage. snow blowing, holiday treats abd bbq's go a long way! been running 8 years now in a residential setting. only downside is lack of power to run multiple machines hard and lack of space. got a vf2, nak as200l and lt-65 slantbed.. i'd say the neighbors only crindge a week out of the year with some jobs, but im suuuper clear im gonnabe a bit louder and am wiling to shut it down the second they need the volume down. wanna nap at 2pm? just let me know. :p

I’m curious what the differences are from my tm0p, I agree Wi-Fi camera is shit, glad I didn’t have to pay for mine
Brass or bronze would look cool, but i like aluminum and mild steel too
Except on the d 20 side... the 20 is your company logo... but you have to engrave that with a .06125 ball endmill

@FishingWithHoang it's a single phase machine so no phase converter. I'm using a 27gallon fortress from harbor freight for now.
