Thanks for the video! I figured the alternator job im about to do would be pretty straight forward, but a little research and knowledge still goes a long way. Very well done!
Thanks! My check engine light followed by the battery light came on while driving home from work today. I watched your video and it helped a lot. Like you said, it took longer to get the replacement alternator than it did to replace it!
Brother you are saving my BACON. I got my first day of work at a new place tomorrow morning and i have to skip the faniky Easter function to fix my truck. Didn't really wanna see them anyway so this is a welcome excuse. Cost of labor I'm saving is gonna cover the cost of parts, so I'm looking at it as a win-win-win.😂
Very good. I have same 2000 Ranger. Same problem Edited. Replaced alternator in about 30 minutes. I made me a fan belt idler wrench out of 1” x24” flat steel & short 15 MM socket cut shorter . Impossible to get ratchet or other wrench in there. Can rent one from auto one.
I’m driving with no worries now! Thank you very much! I had an issue where, once installed, the vehicle wouldn’t start and instead made a bunch of clicking sounds. If anyone else encounters that, just jump the vehicle even if it’s a brand new battery. That’ll solve the issue and it’ll be good to go.
Usually clicking sounds with a good battery can usually be the solenoid on the starter. Replacing the starter would usually fix the problem. I had a vehicle that had that issue and would only start with a battery charger. Turned out to be the solenoid on the starter was shorting out.
Check out my other video on how to replace serpentine belt, i mention the tools i use to loosen the tensioner ruclips.net/video/LePZ-mL4X6k/видео.htmlsi=6-yExnVN-PFpShZu
@raiderman28 ok thanks I just wanted to make sure what size mine was mine ended up being a 15mm I just didn't wanna buy the wrong wrench lol Thanks for the fast response 👍

@@raiderman28their battery was dead from the bad alternator, they replaced the alternator then had to jump start it to get the battery charged.
Thanks for the video
Sorry for the poor quality in video, my camera was acting up. so i could only record in standard mode not in HD, up to 720p.
What is the size for the tensioner bolt?
I think 14mm or 15mm can’t remember
@@raiderman28 is 14
