This video really resonates with me. I had already conquered all the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne before I played Sekiro, but Sekiro just didn't click with me, I gave it a 2nd chance about a year after its release and I fell in love with it so much it became the first From Software game I platinumed.

Love to hear that! Glad you gave it a second chance. Sometimes a new perspective really can make the difference! Congrats on the plat too 😊

Can ppl stop sucking these games off pls? All souls games have terrible wooden inacurate controlls. The cheap souls clones that indie developers make have infinitely better combat.

These games aren’t perfect by any means. I can see and understand your criticisms but for me I really enjoy these games and their indie like versions made by other studios too❤️

tell me you gave up on souls games within your first attempt without telling me...
the control scheme for them takes a bit of getting used to, sure, it uses certain buttons in ways you're not used to. The earlier games can occasionally have some questionable hitboxes too. but to claim "all" of them have "terrible" controls is a you-problem at best, and to claim they're inacurate is demonstrably false - their hitboxes are so accurate that some of your attacks can make you duck underneath enemy swings.
They're not without flaws, and even if they were it's totally understandable if you just don't vibe with them. But to claim their imitations have "infinitely better combat" displays *great* ignorance about the intricacies of these game systems. And to look at a bunch of people just sharing with each other and others how much they deeply loved and resonated with these games shows immense insecurity and resentment.

@@marcog.verbruggen674 No mr. Psychologist it shows righteous indignation caused by the continual observation of bias. I have played almost all of them including Elden ring and all of them have the problem I mentioned, which btw is a huge problem in games that are almost exclusively combat. That is why you need target lock in these games. It is because of its bad design. These is no ignorance the difference to the controls is night and day when you switch from the souls games to most other modern 3rd person action games.

@@Mement0o okay, youtube mobile app being weird so second attempt at replying. sorry if you get double notifications or something.
      This is a nonsensical statement.
"righteous indignation caused by the continual observation of bias" - you're literally looking at a bunch of people talk about how much they like a videogame and complaining about it. Literally the "STOP HAVING FUN!" meme. "I really like and resonated with this thing" isn't a "bias" skewing the interpretation of facts in some objective discussion, it's a completely personal subjective opinion on a piece of art. There's nothing "righteous" about your indignation.
"That is why you need target lock in these games. It is because of its bad design." - That's like saying Devil May Cry needs a style meter that rewards you for mixing up your combos in cool ways because of "bad design" (the safest and most reliable way to win is to spam basic attacks/simple combos rather than use fun interesting moves with complicated inputs), or that Breath of the Wild needs a stamina meter because of "bad design" (you could just climb/glide past everything in the game otherwise). It's not a fix for bad design, it's just *a part of the design*. Did.... did you just assume target lock was a crutch mechanic for "noobs" and decide to play the games without it? Like, you're *meant* to use it most of the time, the game is kinda designed around it. I mean, there are some specific situations where it's better to strategically not use it, and some people prefer to not use it in general - I think it's generally the preference in high-level PvP - but that's the exception.
"The difference to the controls is night and day when you switch from the souls games to most other modern 3rd person action games" - yeah... it's almost like they're... idk, different games... with like.. different designs... and different control schemes or something... crazy idea, i know...
yeeeeah you sound even *more* like someone who the games just don't click for and too prideful to admit it. Or you're upset that you can't participate in the passion and discussion around this series and using the games themselves as a scapegoat for your frustration.
Seriously, it's okay to just not like these games. If the controls just don't click for you, that's fine, there's tons of games in genres i like that I just can't vibe with the controls. I love casual fighting games like Smash Bros and I would LOVE to play stuff like Tekken and Guilty Gear but i just can't get it because of how the controls work. I can still recognize they're good games despite my inability to play them properly. But your claim that they all have terrible controls is your own personal experience, not some objective flaw that invalidates other people's right to enjoy and talk about them. Your claims of "inacuracy" are just straight up false, with a few exceptions, particularly for the original versions of the earlier games of the lineage, which had much more noticeable and prevalent jank which everyone agrees is a genuine flaw and blemish on those early games, but loves them nonetheless. And most of all, you looking at people talk about how much they enjoyed and resonated with something and describing yourself as "righteously indignated" about it is deeply immature.

@@Mement0o "That is why you need target lock in these games" This might be the strangest complaint. You must hate Zelda and Okami; and there is plenty of times where you do not want to use target lock.
"Fuck Mario sucks, i have to use the jump button to the over gaps!".
