The ford advance trac is a real pain sometimes. Beware changing track settings after turning off advance trac may reactivate some advance track features. Its best to always turn it off last after making all your other track settings.

ungrumpy hahaha i do the same with words on spanish, great to see you have some fun and search for problems on a much modern car ( way more fun that problems fix themselves only by looking)
different ideas that you could have on the missfire
-check the gap of the plugs ( cant remember if you change them or not)
-check fuel pressure from the pump, then rails ( also maybe it would help changing the fuel filter, inside the tank as the one on the outside)
-if you have different wiring per cilinder bank, swap them, coils and injectors if you can ( or maybe ask a friends bank wiring from the missfire bank)
-swap injectors from bank to bank
all those tips have helped me in missfires from different race/drift cars, even most of them were turbo, still can be similar
different ideas with the tools you have
-use the fordscan to load a new oem map from your engine, maybe you are running a corrupt file that it is doing the missfire ( ive seen remap chips in obd1 cars running bad from corrupts maps never in obd2)
-pour gasoline and set it onfire ( not a good one now since you like it more)
oh forgot to add (also very far from might be possibly) it is that you check for exhaust leaks on those cylinders, if you have some maybe it is small and only occurrs underload/heat until it wont be too small
take care and very glad to see you happy, hope someday can work together in anyway

Great channel, watching your progress is entertaining, maybe try some dielectric grease on the electrical plugs , it will stop arching and moisture, good luck

Brings back memories when I had a persistent misfire in my E46 M3. Painful to figure out...ended up being a bad MOSFET in my ECU.

Yaaaaaaaa, Wind tunnel that beast. Those factory R tid bits look neat. Wondering if they do much .

We’re just at the tunnel. They do a little, but not much.

Misfire issues are often caused by crank position sensor issues. Very common problem on early 5.0, but I’ve heard the 5.2 can be affected too.

Did you know that there is a heads up display for the RPMs. Perhaps I’m not seeing it in the video, but it’s a useful tool when you’re on track. I believe if you go into the track settings you’ll find it. You can set it up based on your desired shift points. Glad you’re coming around to liking the GT350.

Yeah. Used in my first track day and wasn’t crazy about it. Almost found it distracting but also had a bunch of other issues I was paying attention to.

It's fun to follow your diagnostic process. It could also be sticky or plugged injectors. Have you checked spark plugs?
They could've found a better name than 4scan.

Yeah I’m gonna look into injectors. Plugs looked great.

  • @concretevol

What's the code you are getting? A camshaft positions sensor code is likely a short in the wiring going to one of 4 harness plugs at the front of the heads. The wires are thin and tend to fold over and break, particularly on the driver's side.

I'd have to go back and look. I still haven't really dove into it cause oddly the misfire got more infrequent the more I drove it. Almost to the point where the misfire completely went away.

@@ajhartmanaero The symptoms i had were more noticeable at low rpm, including a lower than normal idle. I think the code is a P0010 or something like that.

Glad to see the car is finally enjoyable to drive now. What is the name of the go pro mount you use on your helmet?

    Your coils could be intermittent

    • @ajhartmanaero
      @ajhartmanaero  3 года назад +2

I swapped them around but the code stayed at the cylinder. So that should rule out the coils. If the coil was bad the code would have followed the coil.

@@ajhartmanaero check the fuel injector they might be intermittent a open circuit.

Ok that make sense. Well good luck in your diagnosis and I love your content keep the good work.
