Asta is an Astronomer (actual science) while Mona is an astrologist(fortune telling) while both are related to stars and easy to get it mixed up the difference is VERY important, lumping the two together is an insult to all the hardworking scientists
My favorite 4 star is Hook personally. She can deal good dmg and my team focuses around buffing her and keeping her alive. She does surprisingly well vs most bosses bc her skill and dot dmg application.
I’m surprised how many tier lists are putting Welt in A tier. Even high A tier is too low for him. He is INCREDIBLE. delaying turns is one of the most potent universal buffs for your team. And him with Seele being able to advance her turn upon kill? Insane.
Right! My Welt does more damage than Seele, I must be doing the wrong setup, his 3 hit combo deal lots of damage. If the enemy weakness is Imaginary and solo, he's gonna get so much damage to break.
I dunno why but I still prefer Li sushang’s honkai impact’s outfit more (prob personal preference and taste, but sushang is still waifu for laifu together with Raiden Mei) ❤
Pela is really good support has a 20% def reduction then her ascension one has a extra 20% with her starter skill has a 20% def reduced which is 60% Which is crazy
Its good for the late game since u just want to focus ending with few turns, in the early tho the bosses dmg is way too much to handle without the shield or heal if u got bailu or smtn.
Well the game is new and all the 3* are mostly better then the 4* they just have higher base everything but I’ll say stick with the 3* cause they are much better since u can ascend them 5 times
@@IASSAASSAII mean it’s a gacha game if you roll a nice 4 star weapon it’s going to just outshine 3 star options but you’re correct that the game is super new so focusing on 3 stars isn’t a bad option. You really should transition to 4 stars ASAP though because the base stats upgrades are quite significant especially on certain characters, even if the passive is not as great.
Herta. With the specialized Light Cone and keeping her level pretty up to date she is super strong. Normal battles are cleared with her doing one Skill-Attack and the follow ups just demolish the enemies. She's really strong. And a good breaker as well.
According to what I’ve seen, Herta ends up falling off later due to reasons, to the point where she seems to be relegated to the worst character in the game for a lot of people. Likely because of most of the difficulty coming from the bosses rather then the mobs-
@@kewol5901 The thing with Herta is that her kit is really only good for farming and trash mobs, so if you're at a point where you're finding use for her, it really is just for convenience i.e. farming calyxes. Other Ice elements characters have so much better utility. Pela can def break and remove buffs form enemy. March cqn provide shields. Gepard provides buffs. Herta can only dish out chip damage and nothing else. This is not to say she's useless though, just very niche

But like I said, she will not take you through (current) endgame stuff like these characters are able to rn. She just doesn’t have the dps for non-tradh mobs-
Tingyun is the best 4 star to be honest she buff attack, damage and a battery Pela is also good because if you're going to have showcase you can use her because of her defense shred Herta is actually good of you have Himeko or Clara (I probably afk gaming with Herta and Clara combo)
Personal suggestion here, qingxue, the one you get from completing forgotten hall 3 is actually really good, she mainly meant to be an ult spammer, constantly using strong aoe attacks, you'll want the light cone that regens energy everytime she uses her skill (can't remember what it's called), she works well comps that don't use a lot of skill points, so a good team would be preservation trailblazer, arlan, Natasha and qingxue, however she can be fit into most teams really well so do as you please
@@LycanMOON I personally recommend having an Abundance and/or preservation unit on your team when you use Dan Heng. I myself use both March and Bailu (can swap out for Natasha) atm, and i got great results.

Serval is my new favorite, because I missed my shot to get Seele, but I really hope they add Durandal. Getting the lance at the end of the first planet reminded me of where I come from.
I tried to get Pela on Seele's banner, ended up with 4 Hook with the 40 wishes I could get... I guess the curse of always getting the Fire character on a banner is following me (looking at you, Xiangling)
I've been using Dan Heng and Serval as DPS and sub DPS but I am saving for Jing Yuan. She just feels better to play than the MC 😢 and I have no one else rn. My current team is Dan, Serval, Pela, March but gonna switch March for Natasha as soon as I get her. Not really leveling Pela or March either. They get what they get from battles and thats it lol Edit: if physical MC shares levels with fire one might also work on that but not right now
physical MC sometimes is a better DPS than serval due to bosses resistances and serval not so good ST damage, Dan Heng struggles in the bosses/elites Serval does because those tend to have sub units, in that moment MC shines cuz many of those are physical weak. Ofc, this is about story mode.
Well I haven't even level all of these characters on your list (except for serval) . Because I didn't really know much about them especially asta and sushang. Thank you for making this guide, maybe if I have a bit more resources I could level up some these characters.
Thanks for the light cone recommendations. I built everybody that i have on my roster since i found that it makes the game easier for farming. I.e Himeko, Herta, Sampo, and Natasha/Hook DoT farming, but i hadnt focused on Sushang yet because i was relying on MC for physical.
I probably will use canon party for a while just for immersion. So, ofc, trailblazer, march, and dan heng. After that, I will look up any good team comp that works well with Himeko, Seele, or Welt to do hard content. Probably will use Sushang or Pela too.
Honestly great video but i think the best way to focus on characters is based on the synergy they have with your team for example my current team revolves aroung single target max dps and aoe so i used sushang, sampo, march or asta based on what i need at the time and the fox girl and welt if i had himeko i would have focused more on a follow up team as herta and her are great for add clearing
I was blessed since my first 10-drop gave me 2 *5 characters (Himeko and Yanqing), but agreed, Serval and Sushang do make the dream team for a *4 star team build. In any case, upgrading any of your buffers and debuffers goes a long way, so pick your poison and build it the best way you can. My current favorite would be Pela and Sushang though.
I recomend those that dont like serveal or and are wating for moma kafka to try out quingque, her mechanics are a bet weird but for missions where quantam is needed and you didnt get a seele quing que can dish out some nasty damage, her fully charged skill attack hit for like 1.8k normal when i hit a mob at level 40 on her.
As it currently stands I am not dealing with the problem stated at the very beginning because at the very 1st evolution part which you're forced to do. I stockpiled supplies while getting enough XP to be instantly leveled up to level 29 as soon as I were to do the mission so I built. All my characters in that amount of time while still collecting every single item. I could that I had access to it was actually quite fun. But I guess That only really happens with stockpiler/hoarders.
I was lucky enough to get Bronya from the starter banner, so I probably won't be building Asta anytime soon, even though her shieldbreak abilities against enemies taht are weak to fire seem quite useful. As of right now I'm using Bronya, Dan Heng, Natasha and Herta. I don't have Susheng yet, so my DPS options are kind of underwhelming. I'm encountering a lot of monsters that are weak to ice, whereas only a few enemies seem to be weak to electric, which is why I benched my Serval pretty much instantly. Edit: forgot to mention, I do have Pela's E1, but her debuffing abilities just don't seem to fit anywhere in my current team comp atm.
Asta is an amazing combo for Bronya, Asta's ult enables Bronya need of more speed, and if u are facing a fire weak boss, after getting rid of minions, u can spam Asta's skill with bronya's skill and obliterate its shield for ur DPS to run amok.
ever since i started i LOVED asta so knowing shes good is really nice for me :D my current team (just defeated the jarilo6 boss) is himeko, march 7th, natasha and asta :)
@@yyju-g9g Himeko is a character you can get on the permanent banner. As for Natasha she joins your team at a certain point of the story. But you can also get her on Seele's banner if you want to use her earlier in the game.
Asta ult when used correctly can save you from being steamrolled by 5 enemies in a roll and when paired with silverwolf given that she can apply a fire weakness, she becomes a bar breaker
Hello, I see you playing a Welt, March, Asta, Sushang team. I'm wondering if it's possible/worth it to replace March in that lineup with Natasha? Or too much physical?
I realized the Pela + RSaPoS value the moment I got both of them and super ranked her in on things. I've also found that Hook can be paired to do some pretty solid single target damage with the Light Cone "Woof! Walk Time!"
I don't think it's a bad idea to lvl many characters, you get the ticket from the first ascension, so it'll help in the long run to get you closer to a 5* on the standard banner
The problem is the resources we have is very limited. I only level 1 Healer (Natasha), 1 Shielder (March, and 4 Dps (Welt, Danheng, Serval and MC), I too want to build Asta since my team doesn't have Fire rn but the resources are just hard to maintain through all the characters
@@salwaahmadz6215 I only leveled Natasha, M7, Danheng and MC for now. I don't think I can manage anymore resources for the other units. I just really really need the protection from Natasha and M7 and Danheng and MC are both pretty strong as damage dealers themselves.
One of the things about HSR I noticed is every character can be viable. I haven't seen a character that isn't actually useful. Some have higher damage but ones with less damage usually have a different pro to their kit. And all the different ways to boost their kits is even more neat. Invest in characters you like; only recommendation is to build a healer, a shielder, some buffers (spd def etc) and one character of each type for weakness breaks. Light cones and armor sets are also pretty expendable between characters. Yeah five stars are great, but the four stars are enough on their own
Hi if I dun have shishung who can I build as a forth unit. I already have the other four in the list. Ok my roster I have herta, qingque march and Natasha. Who should I use as the fourth unit? Didn't have luck in bronya, bailu and welt TT
I use team: fire trailblazer and seele with asta ( with fire dmg increase relic and fire increase cone) because trailblazer is fire dmg is boosted. Astas boost seele with spd. so I boost up all team more. no issue with higher level mobs.
I unfortunately like most if not all the characters. I won't spoil it but Serval was definitely up there on my list for the story on the surface of Jarilo compared to the others characters.
i didn't fall into any trap, im literally leveling up everyone like I did in genshin, all my char are level 90 and that was the best thing I did, I can play with everyone and every team and all the bew char one I get I can easily put it to 90 with the resources the new update brings and focus every resin now only on artifacts
Building serval might be worth building for the future when Kafka comes out, the lightning AOE damage with Sampo & Kafka will probably be a future meta.
I just use Sushang's Light cone on Seele because BIG DAMAGE. Asta skill is great against singular bosses even if no weakness, along with Seele is just perfect. Team comp is Trailblazer, Seele, Asta and Baizhu. Even if the enemy has no weakness the sheer Dmg I can do is enough and I can survive long enough with Baizhu's heals, for Baizhu's relic I just use the 4pc set that gives one extra skill point and Trailblazer has the 4pc set from the Underground Market where you use shields as currency. Got blessed by RNGesus and my 4pc set on Seele all has attack and CR and CD with the boots Main stat as Crit rate...
The lightcone "Dance, Dance, Dance!" doesnt have synergy with asta's speed buff, they are neutral with eachother. I personally would use the 4 star "memories of the past" on her, to further increase break effect and give her some more energy recharge. Her ult has one of the highest base costs in the game. So even if "Dance, Dance, Dance!" is generally really good, asta doesnt get to cast her ult enough times to really get the max out of it. Giving her "memories of the past" will allow her to ult about 32-40% times more often at max superimposition, therefor giving more turns to your allies than "Dance, Dance, Dance!" would with 24-32% of a turn at 100 base speed. So not only does this lightcone give more turns, but also gives huge chunk of break effect ontop. Asta's ult is very particular about how you use it anways. It gets less effective the faster your characters are and also less effective the higher the difference between your character's speeds are, as you wanna ult right after everyone finished their turn together for the max effect.
Me who falls into that trap every new gacha game despite knowing I should choose a few to invest in…Broke in FGO, broke in Granblue, broke in Arknights, broke in Genshin…now time to be broke in Star Rail
Out of principle I'm personally trying to build everyone just so I have more team options. But that's a resource investment, especially early game, so that'll be a long term goal
ngl in my opinion arlan is also a decent character, his damage is not bad when compared to danheng and is an excellent option for players who didnt manage to get a good lightning dps, but i am sure most players can find a better alternative soon

gepard + pela team carrying me fr (sushang main dps, still pulling for seele and asta that i might switch out for tingyun if i ever get her). this team made me pass world 2 of the simulated universe so i'm glad

I kinda wanna main Serval ( as the sub dps ) but my first 5-star was Bailu. Seeing that they are same element would that hurt progression? Pulled Tingyun aswell , another lighting....surely that's not efficient xD
This team would work best if you use fire MC since Asta both buffs fire damage for the team and buffs them _indirectly,_ meaning your only way to proc Dan Heng's passive would be with March's "Power of Cuteness" shield
I still leveling up and the available characters that i have; because of the reward system, getting free tickets is tempting for progression of my account. Building character is another story.
I cant play HSR. When I download it it keeps repeating the same download process and says fixing game resources. I've downloaded it so many times and I just want to play HSR.
So this is the first honkai video i saw recommended and you said you didn't want to talk about a character to not be a echo chamber, but that led me to have to go search for other videos to find it because you didn't cover it. You should just cover everything regardless of other people covering it so we don't have to go elsewhere for the information
The most important bit is to not build characters you don't like even if they're good or someone is telling you that they're, especially in this game where they're on screen a lot more than in genshin where u can just quickswap.
The issue is that unlike Genshin where you can really scrap by with dodging and stuff, in HSR that's simply not possible. You HAVE to eat the enemies hits. You need stronger units to get past all the content, or you are going to be perpetually stuck in certain points of the story.

Welt and Asta are such a funny duo. Welt just says no to the enemy trying to move and Asta makes your team to super sonic

I find pela incredible, i use her ultimate and then follow it with himeko and servant ultimate. It just destroys all the enemies

Coming from epic 7 any character that can manipulate speed or turn order is top tier.

Pela is in Chinese late game builds. Defense break and dispells are OP in turn based games.
She'll get better once people start getting access to energy boost substats, she needs a lot of energy rn which makes her feel lackluster for most

Using chorus is really beneficial. I am not f2p but even then, I am using r5 chorus for the team wide atk bonus!

I like all of them, but Serval has a lightning guitar, and that just sweeps all of my logical considerations away immediately.

I decided to build Qingque, she’s so fun to play with and does good damage for me!! Not sure if she fits in the meta though (because of her playstyle)
Only problem with her is the fact that she EATS your skillpoints if you want big dmg.

dan heng isn't bad unit tho, but u need someone to apply buff on him in order to activate his passive skill ( wind resist down or something like that)

Go level up serval. She’s a niche unit meaning she’s good on certain situations (simulated universe and some parts of the story)

I'm using Serval with Dan Heng atm, who are both supported by Bronya. The game gave me E2 Pela, so I guess I'll build her when I get more resources.

Honestly great video but i think the best way to focus on characters is based on the synergy they have with your team for example my current team revolves aroung single target max dps and aoe so i used sushang, sampo, march or asta based on what i need at the time and the fox girl and welt if i had himeko i would have focused more on a follow up team as herta and her are great for add clearing
I was blessed since my first 10-drop gave me 2 *5 characters (Himeko and Yanqing), but agreed, Serval and Sushang do make the dream team for a *4 star team build. In any case, upgrading any of your buffers and debuffers goes a long way, so pick your poison and build it the best way you can. My current favorite would be Pela and Sushang though.

I recomend those that dont like serveal or and are wating for moma kafka to try out quingque, her mechanics are a bet weird but for missions where quantam is needed and you didnt get a seele quing que can dish out some nasty damage, her fully charged skill attack hit for like 1.8k normal when i hit a mob at level 40 on her.

As it currently stands I am not dealing with the problem stated at the very beginning because at the very 1st evolution part which you're forced to do. I stockpiled supplies while getting enough XP to be instantly leveled up to level 29 as soon as I were to do the mission so I built. All my characters in that amount of time while still collecting every single item. I could that I had access to it was actually quite fun. But I guess That only really happens with stockpiler/hoarders.
tbh, personally the ones that I think really helps the most is asta, tingyun, and natasha

I was lucky enough to get Bronya from the starter banner, so I probably won't be building Asta anytime soon, even though her shieldbreak abilities against enemies taht are weak to fire seem quite useful.
As of right now I'm using Bronya, Dan Heng, Natasha and Herta.
I don't have Susheng yet, so my DPS options are kind of underwhelming.
I'm encountering a lot of monsters that are weak to ice, whereas only a few enemies seem to be weak to electric, which is why I benched my Serval pretty much instantly.
Edit: forgot to mention, I do have Pela's E1, but her debuffing abilities just don't seem to fit anywhere in my current team comp atm.
Asta is an amazing combo for Bronya, Asta's ult enables Bronya need of more speed, and if u are facing a fire weak boss, after getting rid of minions, u can spam Asta's skill with bronya's skill and obliterate its shield for ur DPS to run amok.

ever since i started i LOVED asta so knowing shes good is really nice for me :D my current team (just defeated the jarilo6 boss) is himeko, march 7th, natasha and asta :)
how did you get Natasha and himeko?
@@yyju-g9g Himeko is a character you can get on the permanent banner. As for Natasha she joins your team at a certain point of the story. But you can also get her on Seele's banner if you want to use her earlier in the game.
Asta ult when used correctly can save you from being steamrolled by 5 enemies in a roll and when paired with silverwolf given that she can apply a fire weakness, she becomes a bar breaker
The four stars I use is Dan heng and Herta. Herta is absolutely broken in attacking enemies in groups and Dan Heng is basically wind Seele
When i get sampo i will definitely build. Him and serval will be such a good combo. Also building Qingque bc i like her a lot

Hello, I see you playing a Welt, March, Asta, Sushang team. I'm wondering if it's possible/worth it to replace March in that lineup with Natasha? Or too much physical?
I realized the Pela + RSaPoS value the moment I got both of them and super ranked her in on things.
I've also found that Hook can be paired to do some pretty solid single target damage with the Light Cone "Woof! Walk Time!"
how does the web event for serval's LC work? or is it ded already? Been busy and haven't been able to start until today.
I don't think it's a bad idea to lvl many characters, you get the ticket from the first ascension, so it'll help in the long run to get you closer to a 5* on the standard banner
The problem is the resources we have is very limited. I only level 1 Healer (Natasha), 1 Shielder (March, and 4 Dps (Welt, Danheng, Serval and MC), I too want to build Asta since my team doesn't have Fire rn but the resources are just hard to maintain through all the characters
@@salwaahmadz6215 I only leveled Natasha, M7, Danheng and MC for now. I don't think I can manage anymore resources for the other units. I just really really need the protection from Natasha and M7 and Danheng and MC are both pretty strong as damage dealers themselves.
im just gon say this but sampos slept on. Once you get to the harder parts of the simulated universe he becomes extremally useful with this DOT
One of the things about HSR I noticed is every character can be viable. I haven't seen a character that isn't actually useful. Some have higher damage but ones with less damage usually have a different pro to their kit. And all the different ways to boost their kits is even more neat. Invest in characters you like; only recommendation is to build a healer, a shielder, some buffers (spd def etc) and one character of each type for weakness breaks. Light cones and armor sets are also pretty expendable between characters. Yeah five stars are great, but the four stars are enough on their own

Hi if I dun have shishung who can I build as a forth unit. I already have the other four in the list. Ok my roster I have herta, qingque march and Natasha. Who should I use as the fourth unit? Didn't have luck in bronya, bailu and welt TT
I use team: fire trailblazer and seele with asta ( with fire dmg increase relic and fire increase cone) because trailblazer is fire dmg is boosted. Astas boost seele with spd. so I boost up all team more. no issue with higher level mobs.
I unfortunately like most if not all the characters. I won't spoil it but Serval was definitely up there on my list for the story on the surface of Jarilo compared to the others characters.
I adore Servals gameplay so i have her as my main dps right now
i didn't fall into any trap, im literally leveling up everyone like I did in genshin, all my char are level 90 and that was the best thing I did, I can play with everyone and every team and all the bew char one I get I can easily put it to 90 with the resources the new update brings and focus every resin now only on artifacts
Building serval might be worth building for the future when Kafka comes out, the lightning AOE damage with Sampo & Kafka will probably be a future meta.

Most obvious answer for me is Herta, I MUST take this girl as far as possible since among the 4-Star's, I like her the most right now, lol.
Natasha is a must have. March is bonkers if you have Clara. And Sampo... I hate how good Sampo is, because he really bothers me as a character.

I just use Sushang's Light cone on Seele because BIG DAMAGE. Asta skill is great against singular bosses even if no weakness, along with Seele is just perfect. Team comp is Trailblazer, Seele, Asta and Baizhu. Even if the enemy has no weakness the sheer Dmg I can do is enough and I can survive long enough with Baizhu's heals, for Baizhu's relic I just use the 4pc set that gives one extra skill point and Trailblazer has the 4pc set from the Underground Market where you use shields as currency. Got blessed by RNGesus and my 4pc set on Seele all has attack and CR and CD with the boots Main stat as Crit rate...

The lightcone "Dance, Dance, Dance!" doesnt have synergy with asta's speed buff, they are neutral with eachother. I personally would use the 4 star "memories of the past" on her, to further increase break effect and give her some more energy recharge. Her ult has one of the highest base costs in the game. So even if "Dance, Dance, Dance!" is generally really good, asta doesnt get to cast her ult enough times to really get the max out of it. Giving her "memories of the past" will allow her to ult about 32-40% times more often at max superimposition, therefor giving more turns to your allies than "Dance, Dance, Dance!" would with 24-32% of a turn at 100 base speed. So not only does this lightcone give more turns, but also gives huge chunk of break effect ontop. Asta's ult is very particular about how you use it anways. It gets less effective the faster your characters are and also less effective the higher the difference between your character's speeds are, as you wanna ult right after everyone finished their turn together for the max effect.

Out of principle I'm personally trying to build everyone just so I have more team options. But that's a resource investment, especially early game, so that'll be a long term goal
I recommend building Sampo, he's a useful support in game.

I've built my serval with almost 2k Atk at lv 50 and she is my only dps on my team. Its insane if you can build ult and spam it
ngl in my opinion arlan is also a decent character, his damage is not bad when compared to danheng and is an excellent option for players who didnt manage to get a good lightning dps, but i am sure most players can find a better alternative soon
Herta really makes my content clearing easier, Shes clearly my current best dps.
She’s amazing against weak monsters, just make sure to have a decent single target damage dealer in boss battles

@@HuuTonyTran sushang is really good she’s my main dps and can do upto 3atk if u have her ult up ,also bleed is a really good passive sinces it’s stackable servel is also good since she has a low ult recharge and has good Aoe

gepard + pela team carrying me fr (sushang main dps, still pulling for seele and asta that i might switch out for tingyun if i ever get her). this team made me pass world 2 of the simulated universe so i'm glad

This team would work best if you use fire MC since Asta both buffs fire damage for the team and buffs them _indirectly,_ meaning your only way to proc Dan Heng's passive would be with March's "Power of Cuteness" shield

I cant play HSR. When I download it it keeps repeating the same download process and says fixing game resources. I've downloaded it so many times and I just want to play HSR.

The most important bit is to not build characters you don't like even if they're good or someone is telling you that they're, especially in this game where they're on screen a lot more than in genshin where u can just quickswap.
The issue is that unlike Genshin where you can really scrap by with dodging and stuff, in HSR that's simply not possible. You HAVE to eat the enemies hits. You need stronger units to get past all the content, or you are going to be perpetually stuck in certain points of the story.
