I think what makes Vecna scary apart from appearance and how he makes an entrance is the fact thag he targets those who hit the absolute low and barely got the energy to fight back in their own. Max got out because her friends didn't give up on her and did everything they could to get her back and it worked, that gave her the energy to fight Vecna and get out of the darkness.

So much of the emotional buildup comes from the unbelievably stellar song choice, but frick man, those few seconds of Max’s sheer desperation while she’s running in slow motion with everything falling around her…. Her performance was simply phenomenal.
The editing here was the single greatest scene in the entire Stranger Things series, so full of emotional imagery with how the memories of her past flashed before her very eyes much in the same way they say your life as whole flashes before your eyes before you die, perfectly conveys the feeling "Don't give up, there is so much to live for" with the song playing and getting louder with the words "If I Only could, make a deal with God, and get him to swap our places, be running up that road, be running up that hill, no problems..." all while Max is running for her life to get to salvation, this is how real magic happens and the reason Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill hit song from 1985 has made it all the way up to the number 1 spot globally 37 years later and has made Kate Bush almost 2.5 million dollars and counting in just over a month, I've always loved this song, there is also a slower more haunting version of this song by Placebo that came out in 2010 for the movie Daybreakers that is featured in the movie trailer

I love that the men here aren't afraid to cry. The scenes, the music, the the build up is A LOT...and I tear up seeing it as well, even seeing all these reactions make me misty :) This was so big for Max as well, not only is she defeated Vecna, in a way she's taking back her life, and not succumbing to her mental illness either. Lots of good meanings.
This is like perfect scene. Dark, scary, glimpse of light in the dark, life flashes in your eyes and you remember all the good stuff, you get stronger, you run through tough obstacles while your favorite epic 80's song is playing in the background, your friends are there for you. Then it all goes black. Either she dies or doesn't, anything can happen. Truly best TV I've seen in a long time.
I'm really happy that Kate Bush has got the credit for a great song used in this amazing scene. But it's important to remember that it's not actually Kate Bush's song. There is also an incredible orchestral backing which makes the whole thing so much more majestic and dramatic. Really well done to those that put that together as well!
My prediction for the end of the season will be that they realize that it’s not the music that saves you. It’s opening up and connecting with people about your repressed feelings that saves you from Vecna. Vecna is real and he lives in the mental illness inside all of us. If we address that illness then he won’t be able to get to us.
It might be because I have no soul, but I surprisingly enough didn't cry in this scene, nor any other scene from the show. Sometimes seconds can be more important than hours, days, months or even years because it only takes 5 seconds here to make everyone on this planet stop and wonder what just happened until the final outcome and everything was okay. Genius pure genius work done here.
It's so good that they used montage trick in this scene because from the context of this scene (Max captured, very close to death) most of people would think if there is a montage, that means that character is going to die. But turns out the montage has different meaning. More hopeful one, Max realizing she had all her friends who tried to help her all along which gave her strength to push through. And when I realized this I was like "Oh yeah montage can be used for awakening of something too why didn't I think of it that way?" and turns out, most people thought she's going to die so I'm not alone here. And because most people thought this IS the end of Max, when she attacked Vecna everyone got surprised, we all didn't expect this. I think the directors exactly intended people to think this way which I think it was very genius move. It was just very interesting

Season 2: A few weak spots, but a splendid expansion of the lore.
Season 3: The weakest season of all - started cringingly, but ended with a game-saving tear-jerker.
Season 4: The strongest season of all - best villain, best arc, best character development.
Season 5: Well, we all gotta die sometime.
OMG this was THE BEST to watch. So intense for everyone. I loved how every single one got angry at the black screen, then immediately relieved it kept going, just like me.
The lady right at 15:52 was great lol! Loved how she was like "I swear to you-!" as she's giving 2 middle fingers when the screen goes black! (I was right there with her when I watched it the first time!)
The series has found a pretty good way to describe depression. If you take away the supernatural and see everything purely psychologically.
this music mashup gives me freaking chills. this scene had me sobbing the first time i watched it. it was so beautifully directed and acted. props to sadie for literally stealing the whole fricking show
It’s awesome to see the love Max gets, she’s become the best character and did such an amazing job in season 4.
It’s quite nice to know that scene had a lot of people in tears ahaha
I love that the men here aren't afraid to cry. The scenes, the music, the the build up is A LOT...and I tear up seeing it as well, even seeing all these reactions make me misty :)
This was so big for Max as well, not only is she defeated Vecna, in a way she's taking back her life, and not succumbing to her mental illness either. Lots of good meanings.
Really relieved my husband and I weren't alone in our reaction to this!
It’s so endearing all these people watching cried. To a “kids show”. It’s so good to see we are not all stunned afterall.
He visto esta escena mucha veces y en cada una no he podido dejar de llorar, muy conmovedora, la musica, los efectos , sentimientos a mil...!!
4:56 -- GO MAX GO ..........RUN , best part .
I'm really happy that Kate Bush has got the credit for a great song used in this amazing scene. But it's important to remember that it's not actually Kate Bush's song. There is also an incredible orchestral backing which makes the whole thing so much more majestic and dramatic. Really well done to those that put that together as well!
Yes! Whoever the composer for this version is, knew exactly what they were doing. It's orchestrated beautifuly.
When it builds up as she kisses Lucas in the flashback, then her tear... Just rip my heart out already! So good.
well, it's her song.
I think everyone can empathize with the feeling of "that one song that saves your life"
This episode needs an Emmy Award.
The way the screen blacks out momentarily...and you just hear
MAAAX!!! And she comes back!
My prediction for the end of the season will be that they realize that it’s not the music that saves you. It’s opening up and connecting with people about your repressed feelings that saves you from Vecna. Vecna is real and he lives in the mental illness inside all of us. If we address that illness then he won’t be able to get to us.
It's the music
Lmfao great take but Naw it’s just a supervillain
Hands down one of absolute best scenes/episodes in the entire show
his is one of the best and most powerful moments in tv history.
I love that episode so much!
The duffer bros need to see this. The creative direction they have is insaneeee 🔥🔥🔥
CONGRATS, Once Upon a Reaction!!!!!! You deserve the mention!
Seeing all these reactions is so heartwarming. Such an iconic seen and every fan affected and desperately rooting for Max.
And when she cries, "im still here, I'm still here. "
Me too, Max, me too.
I'm just gonna say. I totally understand.
This scene was *INTENSE* and I think my favorite out of all the 4 seasons.
The way i thought she died when it went dark. I CANNOT.
I think everyone, who is a fan of this amazing and beyond show, felt real sad seeing Max suffering and making us think that she was about to be gone.
Not me crying with single one of them again and again.
Sameeee 😭
"GO MAX GO RUN.... sorry grace.... RUN!" 🤣
Episode 4 and 7 are so sick. But the twist with Henry are not a surprise for me.
An hour before Emmy nominations. Really hope Sadie and others are nominated. Like the directing and writing of E4 is so worthy
As someone that knows how depression feels....this makes me so so so emotional!
I am glad to see that I am not the only grown man to cry during that scene.
“Are her ankles okay?!“
Also my concern 😫
Two types of pips..pips who teared while max was running n pips who teared when she made it!!.none d less all reaction was awesome!!!
It might be because I have no soul, but I surprisingly enough didn't cry in this scene, nor any other scene from the show. It takes a lot to make me cry, but this scene in particular was pretty strong with pulling on heart strings. Mad respect to the Duffer Brothers for creating this show, as I'm pretty sure it has been well received by everyone in the world lmao
What movie or series made you cry?
I didn't cry either, i was actually mad really thinking they was gonna kill max, and a lot of shit make me cry
@@reReaction_ Idk, I can't remember the last time I cried at any movie or show, or anything in general
@@josefranco8860 crying is sometimes really good, there is no reason to be ashamed of it
Not to worry, not everyone responds the same way to the same things. It doesn't mean you don't love or value things. 👍
Sometimes seconds can be more important than hours, days, months or even years because it only takes 5 seconds here to make everyone on this planet stop and wonder what just happened until the final outcome and everything was okay. Genius pure genius work done here.
I've scene this scene a hundred times now and still cry buckets during the flashback montage
