- Hope you like this one played on Banjo and Guitar:
Now it fell about the Lammas tide
When the muirmen win their hay
The doughty Douglas bound him ride
Into England, to drive a prey
He chose the Gordons and the Grahams
The Lindsays light and gay
But the Jardines wad' not wi' him ride
And they rue it to this day!
I am informed the tune was written by Roy Williamson of the Corries, great tune, great song. Видеоклипы

Lovely 👍
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Love this one, I learnt it as The Battle Of Otterburn from the McKenna Brothers singing. Great version!!!
Simple and satisfying. Keep 'em coming, fellas!
Great old Borders Ballad, lads, and I have not heard it played as a banjo instrumental before. Great driving delivery, both of you.🙂
Thanks John glad you liked it! We heard the Corries singing it and thought it would be a bouncy tune for the banjo. Glad it worked. Hope you're well :)

Hey! That's a brand new Yamaha F-310, isn't it? I wish to play only happy tunes on it! Greetings from Georgia. I am looking forward to show your performance to my dad. He loves your sweet performances and humbleness just like I do.
Hi Konstantine, good to hear from you. I hope you and your father are well. It's still the same samick, new tune though. Kind Regards.
@@fireflyxl5 Thanks again. It's always pleasure for us to listen to you. My dad sends his greetings too you as well.
Je vais essayer de faire un peu de cuillère irlandaise Là-dessus
Merci Jean-Pierre, merci!
Sorry not an Old Scottish Tune but one written by Roy Williamson in the 1960s .
Hello Alan. I believe the Corries did sing this song, but it's much older. It's other name is the Battle of Otterburn 1388, it's first noted in a book in 1765. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battle_of_Otterburn_(ballad) Kind Regards :)
@@fireflyxl5 It is indeed based on the old border ballad , itself a mash up of various historical events . However , the tune , which I really like and love the version here , is entirely Roy's composition . I love the old Border Ballads and adaptation of them is entirely in the spirit of our wonderful music . Thanks for your response
@@fruitychink Thanks for the info. I changed the title. It's a great tune.
