I just stumbled across this video. OMG you are such a hoot. I love your excitement and your energy. You are a breath of fresh air. Love your organization as well. you have a beautiful smile and your personality is infectious. Thank you for doing this video. I cannot wait to see more of them.
I just found your video and I enjoy every minute of it. Your enthusiam is so contagious, often when I'm watching videos I'd normally just listen and take a glance once in a while but in your case I have to put down my work and watch you and I feel that I'd like to start fixing and arranging my floss now. Hope to see more of yoyr videos.
So fun to see your excitement about getting all your DMC. Very impressed by your organization. Reminds me of someone else I know (who shall remain nameless!) ;)
I just visited Stitchville U.S.A. after watching your video of it. I had similar feelings of being overwhelmed! Thank you so much for sharing about it - I live about 2 hours away. A safe distance for my pocketbook!
You are a younger version of me. I did this exact thing with my floss about 25 years ago. The most recent shoppers checklist I have is dated 1994 though and I'm thinking I may need to update my floss stash. I found floss at a garage sale once where she had several skeins of one color so I bobbinated one and put the extra of that color in Ziplock bags. I also have a seperate stash of odd and end floss that my kids used and now my grandkids use. If I knew the color you needed I would send it to you but with postage it would be cheaper to just go to Joanns and buy it. Love your videos. TFS💞
Thank you, that is quite a compliment :) I did find the colors I needed, I happened to be traveling so I was near a different store! Hope you are having an awesome stitchy day!
Love you videos! I am in the process of bobinating my floss too. I purchased the double sided floss container that is supposed to hold one DMC set. As for my silks and specialty varrigated threads I keep them in Floss-A-Way bags organized in a shoebox from Michaels.
I had to order online at JoAnns but looks like it is 50% off right now!! Might have to get another one...lol www.joann.com/creative-options-thread-organizer-1013inx325inx1425in-clear/10672699.html
Boy I just did that same thing . I printed up charts and conversion charts and inventory all my floss. It took me a better part of my weekend. But its worth it.
to Rachel d I love your video I love floss to 2 years ago before prices went up I bought the whole doc floss collection and the whole anchor collection I work on stamped cross stitch quilts I love it keep the videos coming
Congrats on bobbinating all those flosses, hopefully you'll find the one you are missing . The camera works great it even showed dust motes floating around occasionally. Lol I don't know what to do with my Caron Waterlilies either, I just got my last bits for my Miribilia as well and guess what.........there was an error as well but fortunately someone let me know . However I ordered it from England but they didn't have one of them and it was that one so I managed to not buy the wrong one. The moral of my story is to always check the corrections page before kitting up a Miribilia as there are actually quite a few of them on the list.
I have just discovered you.I used to bobbinate but switched to DMC’s new method.I am now switching back to bobbins.DMC’s new method is a mess!! It’s nice to have the thread on a spindle so it doesn’t get kinked u but there is no way to sto the
To keep the floss on the spindle. So it unravels. Then I called DMC because the the floss number gets erased with handling. So I was told to buy some scrapbook double sided tape to keep the wrapper on the spindle.when I asked how to keep the thread from unraveling she told me that the DMC stitchers didn’t have any problems.I ended up buying little rubberbands that kids use in their hair. The system is not cheap and it irritated me to spend more money to fix it.I have been a stitcher for almost 40 years.I even stitched shop samples for the shop I used. So I am “serial stitcher”😊.I am sorry this is so long but I don’t want any pne to waste their money. What I did was to purchase a chest at Hobby Lobby ,sort of like a lingerie chest.I covered the bottom of the drawers with acid free paper. There are 10 drawers so each group gets it’s own drawer. Now,my thread stays unkinked and has no light to fade them.I used to use the plastic boxes but if you leave out they can fade.Again,I am sorry this is so long, butI had a lot to say. I enjoyed the show.I will continue to watch you,you are very upbeat and funny.Take care. sincerely, Becky
I've been watching your videos and I can't remember which one you talk about how you wind your bobbins by hand. And I don't know if it would interest you but I found out from another stitcher here, can't remember who lol but she said she wound them with a screwdriver. Wait no it's called a drill. Ok so yes, I put the bobbin card on my drill with the little piece inside holding it and then I pull my thread a bit off the skein and then push the button on drill and it winds! I'm not sure how to post photo. Or if u have email I can send a pic if it's something you might want to do. Maybe you can try looking it up here too, it seems to be a faster way than hand winding...anyways been enjoying your videos keep it up! 😊
You make me laugh! Oh what husbands have to put up with…… and I so empathize with the frustrations of corrections! By now all your colors should be in hand, and as a sufferer of whole set syndrome (was) I trust you are at peace. :)
I am an old lady and love you to death! Will you be my pet sitter when I go someplace? LOL I am curious where you got the storage boxes that hold the floss bobbins the way you have them. The only boxes I have found hold the bobbins sideways. I really want boxes like you have! Oh, and you can stitch while you watch the pets... they are used to it and won't mess with the threads!

5 yrs later this popped up in my Recommended videos today. Wow so much floss!!! I love it!! 🥰
I am glad you got that much cross stitch thread that is neat.
OMG loooooveee the collection... So much envy of all the boxes
You are a hoot. Love your smile. Inspiring me to get organized.

Thank you!! I have no idea who you are talking about... 😉
Great floss organization!! I use the snack size Ziploc baggies for my waterlilies, and various pretty threads!
Thank you! I think I will go with the Ziploc Bag thing as that is what most people are telling me and I think it would be best organizationally

Yay Stitchville, USA!!!! I have many dreams of going back there... makes my Mom happy too as when I visit the cities I stay with her

I couldn't find one like that so I used the ones I showed that I got at Walmart. It's fun having so much floss, inspires me to do more projects :)

The Cataloger in me loves, loves, loves your floss organization. I need to work on mine!!
Great Video - love the Nimue chart - had to go to sew and so and look - LOL. Great job on bobbinating.
You are so fun and hilarious! I love it! And I enjoyed your video very much!
Love your organizational skills - mine suck less than they used to, but they still suck ;) Enjoy your videos!
Thank you! I am glad you enjoy them as I highly enjoy making them :)
Great storage!! Even thou I am a bobbinator as well I keep my Caron's in a plastic container I don't bobbinate them.
I hear silk is not good to bobbinate so I am planning on putting them in plastic bags

How long did it take you to bobbin and put all your floss in order?

Try the Xstitch app........it's nice and you can keep all your inventory in there as well.
I just downloaded it on my iPhone, but have not yet had the chance to put things into it yet. I added my WIPs and some of my FOs, but not the floss
That will take forever with your loot! lol
I know...hence the fact I am dreading doing it! LOL
Omg your literally me but like I guess like 15yrs older than me
What website did you have to go to to download that sheet
Your so fun would love to see more
You go girl!
You go girl!
Check hobby lobby too
OMG don't know how you did that but please come and do mine 😜
I am an old lady and love you to death! Will you be my pet sitter when I go someplace? LOL I am curious where you got the storage boxes that hold the floss bobbins the way you have them. The only boxes I have found hold the bobbins sideways. I really want boxes like you have!
Oh, and you can stitch while you watch the pets... they are used to it and won't mess with the threads!
Bobbins are roughly square, you should be able to put them in either orientation in most of the boxes.
OMG you r adorable!
Lmao you sound like me and my sisters, a little crazy, a little ocd! Lol jk you're funny 😊
