"I slip, I slide, I gloom, I glance, Among my skimming swallows; I make the netted sunbeam dance Against my sandy shallows" Reminded of "The Brook" by Lord Tennyson, as we listen to the cascading 'Tha-tha-kaaram' (0:44 - 2:22) by Sri. Sankaran. May the Pudukkottai Parampara "go on for ever"!
Hi. These are not lyrics actually. Sankaran-sir is speaking solkattu syllables, which are used in the Carnatic music tradition to teach drumming. Every phrase that Sir is speaking can be played on the mridangam or kanjira. The syllables represent different drum strokes.
@@michaelnixon7132 I slowed it down, that's when I realized how fast it is. I think I'll try again now I seem to have half speed, somehow disappeared before.
Outstanding demonstration of Konnakol by Prof Sankaran.
Amazing!
Amazing, awesome, no words to admir the Master
This is insane! Bravo!

Perhaps slowing down the playback will help
