Excellent presentation.. I went to Sounion in 2021. I picked up the coach in Amalias Street in the morning. Did not go to see the sunset just the archaeological site. it’s well worth the trip out. 40 euros is good value.Prices at the cafe were not cheap, but this was fair enough as it has no passing trade and relies upon day trippers only . That’s was a long time ago.

Hi Sebastian! I just came across and subscribed to your channel -- it's been very informative about Athens. I'm a Greek-American who's been to Greece a handful of times (both my parents were born an raised in small villages outside of Sparti). I've been wanting to visit the Temple of Poseidon, but haven't had a chance to yet. In my mind, I thought it'd be nice to maybe rent a car and drive down the coast, maybe stop at a beach, visit some local shops and any other place of interest, and have a nice lunch someplace. Is this possible? The drive looks to be pretty easy from Athens or Piraeus (I've never driven anywhere in Greece though), but is this something you'd recommend? I speak/read Greek well enough to navigate the area, and I would be willing to make it an overnight trip if there's lots of driving involved, or things to see and do. If so, are there places/stops/beaches/restaurants you'd recommend on the way to the Temple? Thanks!
Yes its doable with a rental car. Just avoid doing this on a weekend, insane traffic jams coz all the Athenians are going to the beach. No need to spend a night there, its only a 1h drive so you can easily drive back to Athens on the same day.
50 euros for a 4 hour trip is not really cheap... also, it doesn't include the entrance ticket to the site, so you're essentially paying 40 euros for the bus ride

Hi Mary ! No, you wont have an opportunity to dine out during the tour. So either you pack some snacks, or you wait to be back in Athens.

Hi Sharon ! No, Athens is a very dense urban area, you need to go WAY out to see some nature, like 40min by car.

You re also paying for the guide and for the extra stops along the way
