Male members of several tribes who belong to the Al-Baharna community gather during the annual Qatar National Day, play music, dance and enjoy their company.
Al-ardha is the traditional dance known in different variations in the whole Gulf region.
In Qatar men dance while carrying swords and sheaths in their hands. Two choruses alternate in singing. A group of instrument players provide rhythm and musical structure. The instruments used during al-ardha are the ṭār (large frame drum) and the ṭabl (large drum).
The piece was recorded on 18/12/2013 in Doha, Qatar.
