Great walk! Two comments Ilfeld is pronounced "ILL-feld", and you went right by the iconic Murphey Drug Store. That has a history all of its own.

Thanks - and thanks for the pronunciation of Ilfeld. One of the hardest things for me to do when I travel and do videos is know how to say names correctly and that really helps!

I drove through that town late at night one night in 2019, on our way up into Colorado, then onto Fargo, ND.

You must of been there on a Sunday...nothing is open and no cars parked along the street near the plaza. However the cars parked 'backed-in' in front of the Plaza Hotel is really weird! You missed showing the building used for Longmire's office. Also the historic bridge, you were just steps away when you turned back. There is so much more rich history there than mentioned here.

I totally agree I could have seen much more after researching more of the city after my visit. That just gives me incentive to return back one day to do a more comprehensive video. Thanks for watching. Oh, yes - it was a quiet Sunday morning when I visited. I often film on weekend mornings so I capture the buildings without a ton of car parked and blocking the views.

The town of Las Vegas is an ideal location for demolition and reclamation of National Power Grid Infrastructures. Recent fires have rendered drinking water fowl and almost made the town toxic and uninhabitable in certain areas.
    The Benefits of Dismantling.
The benefits of dismantling, decentralizing and repurposing the Infrastructures related to the National Power Grid, can not be understated any longer. Abandon cities and towns, rural developments and Superfund sites are ideal opportunity candidates for demolition, dismantling, decentralizing and repurposing the Infrastructures in order to reclaim areas to their former natural conditions. Business Models, associated with constant growth ambitions, are not sustainable. Cap oil and gas wells, backfill abandon mines and phase out their infrastructures. Regulate or meter flow, curtail transport and production.

You really need to research your subject. You walked right by the jail and then misidentified it as being in the wrong building on the wrong side of the street. While on the plaza, you were less than 100 yards from some of the oldest continually inhabited houses in Las Vegas. It is pronounced el feedell....

Thanks for the info. Next time I head to Las Vegas I'll know a bit more. It's sometimes tough when you are a visitor to understand pronunciation and some of the historic places.

I really enjoyed exploring Las Vegas - I love the history and the buildings. I talked to a resident for about an hour during my walk and he was the friendliest person I met on this trip - so I agree about how friendly the town was. I'm headed back to that area and would like to explore more and wander around on a weekday or Saturday when more people are around.
