Awesome video. My family enjoyed our first time kayaking. It was a lot of fun. We were with experienced kayakers. The river was only 3 feet deep. Your video has me prepared for deeper water if I capsize. Thanks.

Great useful video, and your right, we should all practice getting back in, once a year or minimum once every 2 years. Lying flat sliding on is the way to go. In rougher seas, you can orientate yourself, so that the wave acting is pushing you towards getting back on, and maybe do the opposite for righting the kayak. You can grab the PDL drive to pull the kayak upright, it works great. I was asleep this summer and drifted into very shallow water, whilst paying a fish, and the PDL drive touched the bottom where a vey large and very flat rock was, once your PDL prop is touching solid ground, you have totally lost all balance, you will flip in a second. I was totally caught by surprise, because it was calm conditions. Always remember if you go into shallows chasing fish, and you don't know whats under there, (sandy bottoms are less inclined to cause you to flip, but best avoided too) Keep your PDL in the upright position, prop out of the water at all times where there is any danger of it resting on the bottom, and flipping you. About the only advantage Hobie mirage drives have over OT PDL, is they can be down in shallows.

Ah, well that is nice and easy in lovely calm warm water. Now show it in the cold water and waves of England, that will sort men from boys! Darn good advice and an excellent video and demonstration though!

Yes I have done it in rough and cold waters but I to film it I needed a day when it was calm enough to get someone to easily film it. My advice it everyone is to practice re-entry in all conditions...Cheers!!!

Wow, don't judge a kayak by its looks! Way better to look at function and in that case this kayak comes out on top! Cheers!!!

Go vegetarian leave the fish alone

Or go carnivore and leave the plants alone! We evolved to be omnivores and a variety of food sources available to us - I for one will continue to do just that...Cheers!!!
