Skylar, thank you for making a good instructional video. Too many channels do patterns and talk way too much which makes the video longer. Your format is direct and straight forward without the talk. I am saving this one and the copper john video in my playlist. Good fishing and Tight Lines!

Thanks Mark! The whole reason I started making these was because I was getting annoyed with watching a 12 minute video for a simple fly.

I just found your channel. I really like patterns that use the older materials. The new synthetics certainly have their place, but I prefer the old standards. They are much cheaper to acquire and I find them just as effective if not more so. All the best, Sean

Hi Sean, glad to have you with us! For the most part I completely agree. I absolutely love tying with natural fibers and materials, but I also agree that synthetics have their place. This fly is often tied with a synthetic dubbing down the entire body, but I like to use the peacock because fish just seem to love it and I always have it on hand. However it is sure hard to find something that gives the same type of movement as sili legs that isn't synthetic. If there was something natural I'd probably switch it out in a heartbeat. But sometimes flies like the peacock and partridge sure can get the job done and is 100% natural and simple to tie.
