    That`s just what I was thinking Kevin for the grease mesh, a small frame with a couple half moons to fill the sides, and a couple tabs so the motor don`t suck it up, I think this will work just fine. I`m curious to hear how loud or how much vibration will come once you plug in the motor, if you think there is too much vibration you could cut out a rubber gasket where you have it mounted to the barrel, and that should dampen the vibration, It`s coming along real nice, it`s got the industrial look, that`s gonna be great with the light right on the cooking surface, nice job.

    I'm confused, the fan was mounted in #1 and then again in #3??

      I mounted that fan at least 10 times lol that's fabricating and mocking it up.
