Story 3. My daughter was born in 2001, and due to postpartum depression, I ended up taking care of her the most for her first almost year. One of the areas that I enjoyed taking her was the library. Well the library did not have a changing table in the men's room, but they did in the ladies, I was able to use the counter in the men's room to change her, but I mentioned it to the library staff and they advised me to go upstairs to the admin office and mention it to them, so I did, and the response was favorable, they listened to what I had to say and said that they would look into getting them installed, and eventually they did indeed get them installed, they told me that they never really considered the need for them in the men's room but saw my point and took action.

Hereditary HOAs should be illegal, and any such additions to a contract or deed should be rendered NULL and VOID. HOA membership must be voluntary at all times, and any person should be entitled to QUIT an HOA at any time without any legal cause or penalty. When a house changes hands, all HOA membership is automatically cancelled. THAT will help.

well i almost agree with you, there should ALWAYS be an exit from an HOA but there are some cases i do not think it would apply.
For example i used to own a townhome so it was something like owning an apartment i had neighbors below me, and to both sides.
Before i sold that home the HOA decided to replace the aging windows on all the properties, i dont think just leaving makes sense in a situation where everyone is essentially sharing the same structure.
However with stand alone homes? Yes you should be able to leave if you want.

HOAs are service providers, which should put them under "The Fair Business and Services Act" which prevents you from being forced into paying for services that you don't wish to use and the right to leave the service contracts when you wish. HOAs do not abide by this law because they have twisted our legal system to allow their fascistic tyranny to thrive.
Similar issue with the Squatter's Rights laws, which were created for people who found an abandoned house and made improvements to the property.

    • @Torsin2000
      @Torsin2000 Год назад +1

@@KameraShy well you see they put the HOA on the deed of the house, so the HOA follows the deed regardless of the owner. Presumably it is voluntary because you are (supposed to be) told upfront that the property is part of an HOA and you are supposed to have access to review the CC&R's before purchase.
Personally I think joining an HOA for houses (not condos/apartments) should be voluntary and treated like a lease, wherein every year/two years/etc members are able to opt out moving forward.

Tbh if the ladies room is sign marked as "baby changing facilities" it's now a legally protected space for him to change the baby. This is one of those cases were the resturant needs to be glad that OP never realised that he could sue them for discrimination and have a slam dunk case as enforcing gendered changing facilities are a violation of a few laws. This is why alot of places have a unisex bathroom (often fitted as a disabled bathroom, as not having that can also get you sued unless you have a valid excuse not to these days) that includes these facilities.

The one time at a Burger KingI had a woman telling me she didn't care where I changed the diaper, but I couldn't do it in the washroom. I just went to a table in the restaurant a few tables away from the woman and started to change the diaper on the table.
She yelled at me and I just answered out loud, you "you told me you didn't care where I changed the diaper as long as it wasn't in the washroom, for god sake make up your mind." And continued changing the diaper.

"Squatter's Rights" (I think the legal term is 'Adverse Possession') are legally a thing, but far more limited than this woman thought. For one thing, the squatter has to be living in the house, continuously, for much longer than a year. (Varies by location, but usually seven years.) Second, they must be living there openly, not hiding that they are doing so. Third, they must be repairing and maintaining the structure just as a legal resident would be expected to do. And finally, the actual owner must NEVER set foot on the property, at all, for the entire seven years. To put this in perspective, if I owned a house, and someone was squatting, and I didn't go there for years, but, with just one day left before the seven years I walked up to the property line, stuck one foot over the line, touched the ground, then turned and left, the seven year timer would reset to zero.

In much of Europe it's 10 years openly(as in not hiding it) living there without permission(so not a tenant or house sitter for example), maintaining it as a homeowner would, with a reasonable belief it was abandoned(which also means if the homeowner comes back and tells you to leave you have no rights to stay).
Then it's down to the original owner needing to take it to court where a judge decides based on evidence if the property was actually abandoned, did the squatter fulfil all the requirements for squatters rights, etc and if all of those are met the property is legally considered the squatters after they pay property taxes for the 10 years they were squatting.
If the property wasn't abandoned or there is dispute over the requirements(maybe the squatter was only there 9 years, or the original owner told them to leave 2 years in, etc) then it's still the original homeowners property and the squatter has to leave.
Don't know why everyone seems to think it's this magic and easy to claim thing that let's you steal a house in 6 months, it just doesn't make sense legally.

I was of course as I explained to the cop, not really blocking his access to his food, they could always come out, get the food that was left outside the property and since he is outside leave.
He was out in less than 24 hours.

There’s been some cases where there’s some creepy person puts a hidden camera in the unisex bathrooms. So I can see why separate bathrooms are better. Plus from my experience of working in a food establishment, men dirty the bathrooms far worse than woman do. Poop smeared on the walls and pee everywhere. It’s disgusting 🤢. I even saw a turd in the sink before in the mens. Like who does that!! If I was in the bathroom when this happened I would have spoken up and tell the workers “I would rather him change the diaper in her then on the table where everyone is eating. Would you rather him do that? I don’t want that baby to have to be in his dirty diaper any longer. You aren’t a good mother if you want any baby to sit in soiled diapers. First story, what OP was referring to in regards to taking over ownership of the house is called "adverse possession" but generally requires many years before it becomes legal/valid. In the state I'm in, it's at least 15 years. So one year alone wouldn't have done it and OP must not have known that, which is fine in and of itself, but a lawyer would have and would NOT have given the impression that OP was in danger of losing their house. In other words, I think the story is fake because OP dun goofed with that part of it. If it were real, the lawyer would have explained adverse possession and OP would have known that it would take several years and that's something that would have been mentioned. But leaving it out gives the impression that OP was actually at risk of losing the house.
Obviously someone learned a little bit about it and thought they could make a cool story out of it, but failed to learn enough about it to realize that their story wouldn't make sense because of how short the timeline was.

I mean the line about the lawyer is a little vague. The lawyer may have said something like "yeah that's a real thing but she doesn't meet the standards so don't worry." and OP just worded it badly. Then again I normally assume most of these are at least exaggerated a little.

The changing table guy is NOT by any stretch of imagination in the wrong there. "announce his intentions?" HE HAS A BABY WITH HIM. It's clear that he is there for the BABY. I'd put the restaurant on blast for not letting him take care of his son because what could he realistically do? Leave his baby with a stranger? No. And they'd never have asked a mother to do that. Change the baby at a restaurant table? Health hazard. Change the baby in the car? Awkward and there goes his food. This is all the restaurants fault and yeah the ideal solution was to have the hostess stand there while he changed the diaper to ensure the crazy women who think he shouldn't change his baby's diaper weren't made more "uncomfortable" Those women disgust me. One even said she had kids. That means she knows how it's NOT good for the baby's skin to keep a soiled diaper on, and then she had the audacity to offer to change the diaper like that isn't the creepiest pword crap ever. No lady, you don't get to see and touch a random baby's private parts. Creep.
I'd also avoid ever going back to that terrible restaurant if I were dad there. Clearly they think fathers shouldn't take care of their children and i wouldn't want to eat anywhere with such archaic views. Who knows what their views on food safety are if their views on parenthood are that outdated.

In the story about the woman who found the bank statement, just to clarify, they were not married yet so yes, they can do a pre-nup. The whole way through this story all I could think is that this was a huge Red Flag. She had no reason to be this anxious about what she found because it was NON OF HER BUSINESS. Even if they did discuss finances (which I highly recommend), any money or accounts that he had prior to their wedding day is his and his alone so there is no need for him to disclose this unless he has been living off of her. That would just be wrong. Also, if they were living paycheck to paycheck and he was sitting on over $4 mil, that would be kind of shady but it seemed like they were doing ok so it was non of her business and the reasoning he gave proved that.
Ladies, NEVER ask your significant other "is there something you need to tell me?" And I mean NEVER. Remember, men and women dont think the same way and they dont store information the same way. You may know the topic you wish to discuss but he doesnt. Such an open and vague question will have him scrambling through his memory to figure out what you are after and you may not like what he comes up with. I'm not saying men are dumb (I'm a man and most consider me fairly intelligent) but backed into a corner, their brains do tend to jumble a bit. The answer you get could be anything from the fact that he stepped on some of you flowers in the garden to he once killed a man to watch him bleed. You just never know and in many cases, you might not want to know. Let your brain digest this one. Say you have been together for 10 years and it has been great with little to no problems. One day, you just randomly ask "is there something you need to tell me" and he breaks down and tells you that very early in your relationship, he cheated on you with your best friend (who has also been in a blissful long term relationship since then). Remember, your relationship has been fantastic and you may think you can fool yourself into thinking you will be ok with this but you wont be. You will feel betrayed and hurt and there will be a strong urge to confront the best friend. You could potentially nuke the lives of 4 people over this and why, to what end? It wont make anyone feel better. It wont enhance anyone's life. Yes, cheating is wrong and I dont condone it in any way but it happens sometimes. The fact is, you're all in a good place right now so knowing this information would be very bad. It all could have been avoided by asking a specific question that is actually related to what you want to know rather than fishing with such a broad question. Men say whatever pops into their heads when backed into a corner and there are many things you just dont want to hear.

    Hi Ripe 😎⭐😺🧸,
    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The story about the father needing to change the diaper in the restaurant... More places need to provide a “family bathroom”. It's like a large handicapped bathroom, with a changing table. It's where fathers can take their daughters to the bathroom. Mothers have been taking sons into the “Lady's Room” since indoor plumbing became a thing. However fathers have to send tiny girls into the lady's restroom all alone, hoping for the best. On the job I've assisted many little girls too short to wash their hands. Hear their fathers hollering in if they're ok every minute or so. I've hollered back we're washing her hands, she's too short to reach the sink. They relax when I come out wearing a uniform with a name tag on. But nobody thinks anything about little boys being in the lady's restroom; unless they're trying to peek under the stalls, or between the door gaps, or crawl into your stall.
And it's completely unfair. If every place that has restrooms had a family bathroom as well the father in this story wouldn't have had a problem. 😊

He had no right to walk into a woman's room. There were other options about how to change the baby. No one male or female should have to feel uncomfortable while in a vulnerable situation like using the bathroom.
