thanks for this! your videos have been a gateway drug for me into this new hobby. i'm currently waiting for my floatbags and inlet to come in :)
An inexpensive alternative is to reuse the bags from boxed wine, such as Botta Box. They are easy to inflate, deflate, and store in your folded-up Oru. Two or three bags in the bow and stern fit nicely in our Oru Haven. Reduce, recycle, reuse.
Hello, I would like to see a self rescue with the float bags too. Thank you.
Thanks I bought them but haven’t used them yet! May I ask what life vest you are wearing in this video?
NRS Odyssey Lifejacket: amzn.to/3c97AYo
great video. how is your elbow doing? have you considered using a bent shaft paddle?
Thanks for asking! Yes, I bought a bent shaft paddle and it is working great. I have also been wearing a brace when I paddle and do daily exercises for the elbow. I can tell it's getting better, but not 100% yet.
That's great, I saw a video yesterday that said it might help with your problem.
Do you think you will retry a self-rescue with the flotation bags? I'm so curious as to how much of a difference it will make!
I think so. I really want to practice it, but I have an injured elbow right now and don't want to practice self-rescue till it's healed.
@@smkauthor i managed to do it; i have an unlisted video here: ruclips.net/video/gY9otanO2Ao/видео.html
whenever your elbow heals, be curious to see others try and how it fares. There's not a lot of vids on successful inlet self rescues. I had flotation bags installed and found a paddle float really helpful.
The link to get you credit for referring is not working, do you have another one?
Yeah, I think they stopped using it. But if you are looking to buy something from my gear list, you can use the affiliate links on my site: bit.ly/skgearweb
Where did you get the small air pump from?
