Wow, someone react one of my favourite bands, thanks! :) Грай is really great band, I thing it's more like folk/pagan metal, their songs are about slavic folklore and mythology, sound is also really in folk music. Mara is slavic goddess of winter and death. And yes, slavic women are most beautiful. ;)

Greetings from Finland! The Russian GRAI is one of my favorite folk metal bands presently. They also just released a 15 years anniversary documentary of the band on their YT channel.
P.S. Thank you & the one having requested this reaction.

This is what I have found in Musta Laatta's comment on an other reaction to this song
    "White winter, came without asking,
Came fierce, covered with snow's silver .
Turned my soul and my heart into ice,
Covered the river with frozen tears.
    White winter brought wicked thoughts.
The sun hid and there is a full moon in the sky.
In twilight wandering, I hear death sneaking quietly.
The snowstorm is still whistling and circles dashingly.
Fierce winter settled coldness in a heart.
Came cold, yet came without asking.
Brought loneliness, took all my strength
    White winter.
Snowy firs swaying in the wind,
Yet fierce winter doesn't end in heart.
Knocked on the window with a blizzard
    Fierce winter.
Oh, I can't sleep, the blizzard filled my soul.
The winter led a dear friend away.
Winters wicked spells ruined a soul,
Fierce winter took in Mara's embrace."
Mara is the pagan goddess of Winter=Death. She misleads the man until he dies by the cold. Putting her hands on his face she takes his soul away, he disappears.

A great reaction and a great song and band! The band is named after the last name of the lead guitar player, Redvelt Grai. The lead singer is Irina Zybina.

Sorry. GRAI means cry of birds. That's not Ruzveld's last name. He just writes it down as identification of the band he plays in)

@@irinagastonovna7667 , thanks, yes I learned that recently. :) The rest of my comment was accurate, though! (Although I should have said "The FANTASTIC lead singer is Irina Gastonovna", which would have been more accurate!) 😊👍

I love their attention to details. I'm talking about a girl with a violin. If you're an asian in folk-metal, put on your quipao and pride, even if you play slavic folk-metal)

Hello!! (I skipped couple of videos because I wanted to come here as soon as I saw this video😅.... But I'll go back to them so do not worry😉😅)... Yeah, Hell has definetily frozen😂😂... Because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG🤘🤘🤘🤘... And you know me well enough to understand that IF I get excited about something😌, then we have to have something VERY special in our hands😅...I don't even know anymore how many times I've listen this in these three days since I found them😅... But it has be close to 50 already🤗... Okay, now what I said about folkmetal🤔, I don't think that is exact word to describe them and this definetily is very far from what I understand as a folkmetal😂.. Maybe something like Shamanicmetal is closer to the truth😅 (I just invented a new genre btw🤣)..
The more I listen this song, the more I love the drums and the bass and the guitar and the violin and the flute and ofcourse the singing☝️😅.. OMG what a voice they have (they're very pretty too😊).. and it is like you said, everything worked perfectly together👌... The beat in those heavier parts is SO hypnotical and this is easily one of the most captivating songs I've ever heard😅.. If speaking of my favourite part in this song🤔. It is very hard to choose one because there are not ANY weak point but one part coles to my mind😅, it's the last build-up from the soft part when you hear the guitar building up when she waved her hand and especially that part everytime gives me big goosebumbs😅.. and if telling the truth, this whole song is very beautiful and a rollercoaster of emotions and with this absolutely beautiful video it has to be one of my favourite discoveries of this year🤘..
I didn't want to reveal TOO much when I reguested this song but I was about to write that they kinda reminds me of Heilung but only with heavier instrumentation😅.. So I guess my weak point is this, a bit kind of, shamanic singing by beautiful women😍....😂... (everyone remembers how I struggled with my words after hearing their song😂)
☝️One more thing about the compination of this song and video, I absolutely love the part in the beginning when the view was upwards to her when she sang😊... I don't know how to describe my thought about that but it was just SO "heartwarming" moment for me...(🤔 okay, that didn't sound weird at all🤣) but hypnotic atleast😉...
What comes to this song, it feels that I could talk about it for hours but I don't want my comment to be TOO long😂😂... But I'm glad that you liked it and I didn't doubt it actually😂, I knew you would😅
    THIS SIMPLY WAS PERFECT🤘
About other songs🤔... I'll give you a reguest as soon I've listen their other songs more because I think you understand, that if I've listen THIS so many times, I haven't had the time yet to listen their other stuff SO much😂😂😂...
Thank you for the shout out🤘
    Thanks, catch you later👍
    Btw☝️... The lyrics😅... They're great too👌

Yeah, a folk tune spiced with electric guitar riffs. If it wasn't a metal one, would you still listen it as a folk tune? I would, because I like folk music and female vocals. The singing style reminds a lot to the style used by Finnish folk singers as well so it is very relatable - although I do like world folk music too, don't need to be relatable - but it still vibrates near North Eurasian shamanic world soul. And I think the roots of this singing is within the Siberian, Finnic, Ugric pagan folk, that what it sounds to me (as that is what I'm most familiar with). But then Balkan Slavs often comment Finnish pagan folk sounds familiar to them, so I guess we just have some commomn music roots there. Apparently they are from Tatarstan, from southern Urals and Volga river, where majority is Turkic peoples, and which borders with Finnic Mari and Udmurtia republics. I don't know enough of Turkic folk if it has Turkic folk sounds there, but that region is a melting pot or Turkic, Slavic and Finnic peoples. Could very well listen more songs of the style. I think pagan Russian metal is something that will grow in popularity.

Congratulations on 4000 subscribers and thanks for the nice review. In the documentary Tarmo Tyyri mentions, their producer gets a lot of screen time there. Maybe you find it interesting (it is quite long though).
If you like metal bands with female vocalists and violins, I would recommend checking out Unlucky Morpheus, a band from Japan, maybe ruclips.net/video/PCv3s0T4bx0/видео.html. Probably not so much Japanese-folky stuff there, but then again, I know nothing about Japanese folk.
Somebody said, that japanese music companys tend to hit with the copyright hammer, but there can be some reactions found to some songs from them. So maybe it is not that bad.
