This music video has a lot more meaning than the boys simply being carefree. This music video, along with many others, are part of a fictional storyline created by Big Hit Entertainment called the "Bangtan Universe". This universe combines music videos, short films and clips, a webtoon called "Save Me", notes included in every album, and even a mobile game called "BTS World", to create a cohesive (fictional) story. The biggest kicker, is that the storyline contents are not confirmed by Big Hit. The only thing that Big Hit tells us is that there IS a storyline. Other than that, it is completely up to ARMY to analyze every piece of story info we get, and attach it to the storyline. Everything you saw in the RUN music video pertains to this specific storyline. I won't spoil it if you ever want to look into it, but this storyline contains murder, time travel, suicide, depression, as well as friendships, relationships, trust and prosperity. It's a confusing but fun road to go down if you ever want to take the time... You have already reacted to a music video that belongs to the BU: Fake Love. This music video is a part of the Bangtan Universe ☺️ i dont expect you guys to deep dive into the BU bc it can be a lot, and very confusing. The BU includes music videos, short films, the Notes (included in albums), the webtoon "Save Me" and the BTS mobile game. But its basically the story of 7 best friends, how they fell apart, how their lives fell apart, and how Jin (the oldest) tries to save everybody by going back in time again and again and again. There is a k-drama in the works based on this story now! Its very confusing, but its fun to dive into. :) and the storyline is not done yet. Even the song you loved Fake Love is a part of the BU!

I'm excited to see you explore them more in the future! If you want to call us crazy then whatevs, but don’t get it twisted. The BTS Universe. BTS story telling is unique. This video/song, to me, tells you what BTS is about. Socially conscious, talking about problems of the youth. Pills, abuse, rebellion. Fun fact: the vehicles were the staffs cars.

As others are saying here, "Run" is part of the BTS Universe. Most of the imagery here connects to other BTS music videos that run in sequence to this one, to create one big story arc that crosses time & space. It is their own timeline & is another unique feature that draws fans to this band. This Universe is complicated & is also not cut & dry, which means there is no one solid interpretation of it, although there is a consensus on the whole, but not necessarily the details.
They have a really great storyline, but it is not unique. EXO created the first storyline a year before BTS. And now many many other groups have a story universe.
Loved seeing the pure enjoyment from this baby army. Glad that she knows there are toxic army’s as there are toxic people in any group but they are in the minority and her smile shows she’s matured enough to not let that affect her enjoyment. As she continues to learn more about BTS she will know that BTS inspire people to block out toxicity and continue with there dreams. That is what they did to become who they are today.
Jungkook is the main vocalist so he does most of the background vocals, adlibs, and harmonies. I hope you'll watch blood sweat tears, dna, and maybe a couple live performances!
Many have commented that it is part of storyline. Chtonological order etc. Though correct, the songs can be enjoyed and seen as one wishes. Please enjoy the songs without feeling burdened about the storyline if you don't wish to go down hardcore bts fan path.
The playing card with the butterfly on it means BUTTERFLY EFFECT of this video. Bangtan Universe look into it. It will blow your mind. It explains the whole video.
She's so sweet :-D I have not seen the negativity from Army on your channel.. But it sounds like a bummer :-( Hopefully you will get to feel the fun, cool and informative side of Army..
What a perfectly charming young lady she was!!! I think she did a wonderful job!! Even when she got the song mic drop from the “singing” you did, lol! Good job! I love seeing new people learning about the guys. As for the toxic Army please remember there is more of us that are supportive and love when you take an interest, regardless of your own path. Do it your way. It is how it should be done. Have fun. I apologize for any hateful and rude remarks made by those fans who think they know so much and should tell everyone how it must be done. That is not what it is about. It is about support and learning to love in your own way.
A lot of new fans probably aren’t aware of their history and the connection to the music they were releasing run era was their youth story they were only in their late teens/early twenties so this was their story based on their feelings of youth and what essentially others their age feel and go through. As a fan for nearly 4 years it’s been a crazy journey with bts
She's so cute. I would love to see you have an ARMY as a guest that could talk to you about the deeper meaning of their lyrics (you miss a lot at face value) and just their history....how they started and how they came up and why they're SO loved.
💜🌿👍🏽❤🙏🏽❤👍🏽🌿💜 People who are longtime Army often suggest to follow the Bangtan Universe storyline, watching videos in order. But many people don't, either because they are not aware, or they just want to do their own thing. I think it's fine either way. The point is to enjoy BTS, learn about who they are, and find that they lift you with their message and their art. I personally think that if people think they have to always follow a particular order of doing things, they may feel rebellious or discouraged. So anyhow, I encourage you to follow your heart. I think BTS would want you to do that, too. If that takes you to the storyline, great. If it takes you to the storyline after you've done your own exploring, also great. The storyline will always be there. For me personally, the real storyline is how BTS has grown through the years. They are so impressive. It was great fun watching the two of you react and interact with each other. Thank you.
Hi guys ! For Bts reactions, there is a storyline. So I would suggest you to follow the order of videos. This way you will understand the meaning of the videos/ lyrics.
Because this video is from bangtan universe / BU The boys are all playing a character and each character has a backstory. Truthfully the boys in the BU have really sad stories with a lot of tragedy in their past. So it makes sense that these boys get into some trouble and don't always respect people or property. There's actually a k-drama that's being made right now that's the same exact story. It's produced by big hit I believe but it does not start any of the BTS members but they've casted teen actors to play the different roles. When it comes out you'll get a real sense of what the storyline is and who these characters are and what happened to them.
those things you see, it has a meaning and connected to I NEED U (original version). that's the beginning of the bangtan universe. this was one of the music videos that bts and bighit didn't have enough budget that the vehicle they're using is their director's vehicle. :) i wish you'd re-watch this once you step into the bangtan universe.
If you’re just starting, don’t rush. I recommend you watch their mvs from the start, like literally the start like; No More Dreams because you will really appreciate their works and their personal stories. Although many armies forget to start from the beginning, you’ll have a hard time understanding the BTS universe.
One of my all-time *favorite* BTS MVs and songs (beautiful ad libs)! You should watch the live performance, the choreo captures the vibe so well. And Kendra singing Butterfly... very nice reaction 💜
This song /video is part of BTS universe which is the story in their music that started in 2015. You need to hear the Ballad version of this...I never hear people talk about the Ballad version...imo it's even better than the original.
I can understand why you feel this way but don’t forget that there are many ways to experience BTS. It’s okay if their path is different. If they want to get into the storyline cool cool but there’s no real ‘supposed to’ when it comes to this. They might regret it later or they might not. Either way it’s fine. 💜
@@lilyoongi146 it"s okay to not fully understand the meaning immediately. It"s okay to just vibe to the music. If they'd like to dive deeper and revisit it cool cool. But it"s not a must. I personally love the deep dive and making theories and analyzing music videos and researching the references but all that came after I was already into the auditory experience. I'm all for getting into the BU but I don"t like the notion that there is only 1 right way to experience BTS which the phrase "supposed to" that you used earlier implied. 💜
i understand you want to help but this is first and foremost a song. they don't need to listen to watch the music video at all. the storyline is independent from the song.
This MV is part of a larger fictional story line known as the Bangtan Universe. The main plot point is their friendship and their individual struggles. But this song is so good and the dance practice/ choreography is mesmerizing.
I always get so shocked when I hear of an Army who doesn't know about this era of BTS. Like I get it, this girl is young and there's plenty others who are just as young or younger or even are just more recent fans and haven't had the time or something. But like this was the era when I got into them and I swear you couldn't go a day without somebody linking you a theory on these videos and recommending more and more of them. Like I love BTS and where they've come, but this will always be like the main era that made them and gave them their unique color, and then I'm must personally biased because it's what sold me on them too. Also to any new armies out there pleaaassseee check out their older stuff, even before this era, they've been iconic since debut and to this day some of my favorite tracks of theirs are from their first couple albums and mini albums. Especially if you're younger, their older works were more centered around themes about school and whatnot and I know at least from my experience it helped a lot having those songs to listen to, so please give them a chance!
i'm so stupid. when i saw you were reacting to RUN for some reason the first thought i had was that you were watching their variety show, run bts! i was like... huh, that's interesting lol. idk why that was my first thought given that this is one of my favourite songs. btw i've noticed a lot of people recently saying that these songs are part of the storyline but it's the music videos (and other media) that are part of the storyline not so much the songs themselves. there maybe thematic overlaps here and there, and some coincidences, but understanding the storyline won't help you appreciate the songs, if anything, they can be a distraction from the music. likewise the lyrics can distract you from the storyline. personally i would prioritise the music itself, if you're trying to understand bts, as the music and lyrics are personal to them. in fact, the albums themselves (and in some cases the trilogy of albums) have their own narrative arc which i think if you're interested in them as musicians and storytellers will perhaps be more interesting to you than the BU/storyline. that said, the storyline was very ambitious for it's time and is interesting. there recently there have been books and webtoons that have made some things more clear. so by all means get into it if it appeals to you. lastly - just saw you talk about butterfly - i think you might really enjoy the album that these two tracks come from, it's one of their best albums (imo). the beauty of bts albums is that they are crafted with a lot of care and ideally to be listened to top to bottom (at least once). they are experiences. the album is called "the most beautiful moment in life" p2 (you will see also see it written as "hyyh" pt 2) and the repackage album that brings part 1 and 2 together , "young forever", is a fan favourite.
i recommend BTS - We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal(a song made for the fans), Heartbeat, and August D - The Last. this one has very deep lyrics. and bonus: BTS MMA 2018 and 2019. both are amazing performances. MMA 2019 has augmented reality visuals and it will blow your mind. BTS made an award show into a BTS concert.
Ever since EXO debuted with a storyline attached to the music and videos, many other groups started doing it. And nobody except perhaps Loona has a more expansive storyline than BTS. For hardcore fans it's an added feature that's really enjoyable. BigHit tells the story in a way that leaves a lot to the imagination. Fans must find clues, decipher messages, investigate references to piece together the tale. This interactive aspect of fan culture is another thing that makes K-pop so much fun. You do not need to follow it to enjoy the music. Just know that if the MV doesn't seem to "match" the song lyrics, it's probably because the visuals are part of their fictional universe's narrative. This is also true for other groups with an intricate storyline like EXO, Loona, Dreamcatcher, and MonstaX. I hope this helps.
I went to a concert but it is better in my opinion to go there when you are a fan and to be able to sing along. Right now, if we could travel in past I will go to Brazil, wembley 2nd day, and any muster shows.
i remember when this dropped it took me 30 min to watch it fully cuz i was so excited! living through the hyyh era was so perfect i miss it so much our only concern was exols being bitches 😂 good ol times
FYI BigHit and BTS were not able to financially afford to have extras and so they used their hair stylist and managers cars in the part were they were in tunnel. 💜
They actually have a story for all of their albums. It's been 8 years in now. This isn't carefree in the way you think. All 7 members have a toxic reality when they are apart. Things going on behind the scenes of their lives, but when they are together, it is where they gain a real family. They can try and forget what is waiting at home. You can see parts of the cracks, where things just wasn't working. Suga, the mint green haired one and JK with the brown hair, they were grappling and fighting each other. That is the crack, where that surface of "Carefree" isn't what it seems. The mirror breaking, the house of cards falling. And suddenly the room is empty and JK is the only one there. Memories. I'm not going to go too deeply into it. But just know their albums is about trials of the youth, boys vs. the evil of temptations, and entering the world of adulthood far too soon, and seeing just how much colder the world really is once you are alone. So this is the difference you will find between them and other groups. They have an ongoing storyline, an entire universe. If you look into it, you will see how each album is titled, basically letting you know there is a "to be continued" based off the titles. For example, think Adele, she goes by her age, a journal of love, betrayal and heartbreak she encountered during that time; 19-21-25. Ongoing because you are always growing.
This is the epitome of the BU. The one video that is almost dedicated to it. The song & video are absolutely wonderful but the video is part of the BTS Universe and the story within it can be very confusing. Thanks for reacting to it though.
I like your conversation at the end. You casually are able to remember many songs of them. I like you can sing daechwita but you stick to the English way to read it.
i'll also recommend We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal, and Heartbeat. 2 songs with beautiful lyrics. We Are Bulletproof is for ARMY and it has a cute animated MV. 21st Century Girls has a halloween dance practice video and they wear halloween costumes. it doesn't have lyrics so watch this after the one with lyrics.. and bonus recommendation: Suga/August D - The Last. it's a rap with very deep lyrics. he raps about his real-life struggles like social phobia he had, etc.
ActionFredo my man I know you are a huge fan of R&B you need to hear V solo called Stigma live, there is no captions on that but there is a lyric video for it
So you guys are getting into the Bangtan Universe where the music videos are all connected. If you don’t watch them in order then it can be very confusing. The BU (bangtan universe) story is covered by MV’s, webtoon, books, and mobile games
The baby army is cute but she is not yet in with most stuff she dont even know BTS UNIVERSE and how Run is one of the MVs that follow the BU's narrative. Shes cute but not the best army to introduce anything to you
Be kind! Maybe she doesn’t know it all, but she CAN introduce what she does know and share her love. Let’s not discourage because she doesn’t know it all but be supportive and encouraging instead please!

u gotta react to bts old stuff like bts - hip hop lover live ..a song that pays homage to hip hop culture like u have no idea how hip hop that song is & their other old songs

Ahhhhh so excited I'm a baby army btw😭✋🏽 kinda disappointed I didn't know the song🤣🤣
kendraaaaaaa!😍
you def check out their old albums! Best of the best in kpop industry. espe the most beautiful moment of life and you never walk alone!!!

My mochi Jimin is the background high pitch notes. Kendra is so adorable 💜
She's so sweet :-D
I have not seen the negativity from Army on your channel..
It is about support and learning to love in your own way.
that’s my best friend!!:) awe im so proud of herrrrr
A lot of new fans probably aren’t aware of their history and the connection to the music they were releasing run era was their youth story they were only in their late teens/early twenties so this was their story based on their feelings of youth and what essentially others their age feel and go through. As a fan for nearly 4 years it’s been a crazy journey with bts
She's so cute. I would love to see you have an ARMY as a guest that could talk to you about the deeper meaning of their lyrics (you miss a lot at face value) and just their history....how they started and how they came up and why they're SO loved.
💜🌿👍🏽❤🙏🏽❤👍🏽🌿💜
People who are longtime Army often suggest to follow the Bangtan Universe storyline, watching videos in order.
No they don't need to follow it to get it Shut up.
@@CuteSuperGeek you’re so sour for what, it was a suggestion . Get over yourself .
@CuteSuperGeek......💜 LOVE YOURSELF!
Thank you for reacting to BTS💜✨ and pls ignore the toxic comments🙏
RUN hits you in the feelings
Out of topic but the girl is so glowy and beautiful 😻
Ahhhh thank youuu
Aaahhh, this brings back memories of being a baby Army! *sniff*
Just continue reacting to bts dont mind the other toxic army thank you for reacting to them purple you💜💜
Just started but can already tell this is gonna be cute and I will love it
Awhhh its pretty fun watching a baby army getting to know the song run while also learning facts about out boys!
You need Run Ballad Remix. Such a mood.
She knew what she was doing and I respect her
those things you see, it has a meaning and connected to I NEED U (original version). that's the beginning of the bangtan universe. this was one of the music videos that bts and bighit didn't have enough budget that the vehicle they're using is their director's vehicle. :) i wish you'd re-watch this once you step into the bangtan universe.
I haven't seen this mv in a while I didn't realize how many references to other songs on hyyh
He jumped in the rabbit hole. Welcome to the BU Universe! Hope you continue it.
Fredooo this is adorable and heartwarming 💜
Thank you for the reaction! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
This song is way sadder than you think
You have to follow the Storyline
You're supposed to watch "I Need U" before "Run"
I can understand why you feel this way but don’t forget that there are many ways to experience BTS. It’s okay if their path is different. If they want to get into the storyline cool cool but there’s no real ‘supposed to’ when it comes to this. They might regret it later or they might not. Either way it’s fine. 💜
@@janshi876 but they wont never understand the meaning if they dont watch in order
@@janshi876 I know, but I'm just trying to help them understand everything better
i understand you want to help but this is first and foremost a song. they don't need to listen to watch the music video at all. the storyline is independent from the song.
I'd like to see your reaction to "Home", BTS performance at Jimmy Fallon's. It's a pop R&B song.
You would probably really like Home by BTS. They did a performance on Jimmy Fallon and it's great.
This is the song and MV that got me into BTS in early 2016 ♡
This MV is part of a larger fictional story line known as the Bangtan Universe. The main plot point is their friendship and their individual struggles.
But this song is so good and the dance practice/ choreography is mesmerizing.
omg she's very prettyy!
you included the baby army She's so gorgeous 😍😍 & really cute
Thank youuuu☺️
Yeah, there's a whole storyline with other songs. It's a rollercoaster
butterfly is in the credits because it is the sonh you need to hear before this song,
Cat and dog by TXT
0:35 ayyy me too me and my 2 best friends went to watch the bring the soul movie by bts back in 2019 when I was 14 lmao
i'm so stupid. when i saw you were reacting to RUN for some reason the first thought i had was that you were watching their variety show, run bts! i was like... huh, that's interesting lol. idk why that was my first thought given that this is one of my favourite songs. btw i've noticed a lot of people recently saying that these songs are part of the storyline but it's the music videos (and other media) that are part of the storyline not so much the songs themselves. there maybe thematic overlaps here and there, and some coincidences, but understanding the storyline won't help you appreciate the songs, if anything, they can be a distraction from the music. likewise the lyrics can distract you from the storyline. personally i would prioritise the music itself, if you're trying to understand bts, as the music and lyrics are personal to them. in fact, the albums themselves (and in some cases the trilogy of albums) have their own narrative arc which i think if you're interested in them as musicians and storytellers will perhaps be more interesting to you than the BU/storyline.
that said, the storyline was very ambitious for it's time and is interesting. there recently there have been books and webtoons that have made some things more clear. so by all means get into it if it appeals to you.
lastly - just saw you talk about butterfly - i think you might really enjoy the album that these two tracks come from, it's one of their best albums (imo). the beauty of bts albums is that they are crafted with a lot of care and ideally to be listened to top to bottom (at least once). they are experiences. the album is called "the most beautiful moment in life" p2 (you will see also see it written as "hyyh" pt 2) and the repackage album that brings part 1 and 2 together , "young forever", is a fan favourite.
the one is the water is V who has already jumped in the water in the previous pn prologue butterfly song, this songs picks up from there
Kendra! 💜 You were "lovely, lovely, lovely" as Jimin would say
I watched this on patron already but I'm here patiently waiting... I hope you do more bts. Like a guide for example
i recommend BTS - We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal(a song made for the fans), Heartbeat, and August D - The Last. this one has very deep lyrics. and bonus: BTS MMA 2018 and 2019. both are amazing performances.
Hey I AM 14 TO AND I HAVE THE BTS HODDIE SHE GOT ON!!
AHHHHH TWINSSS
I've been an army for almost a year and It never been the same 😭

I went to a concert but it is better in my opinion to go there when you are a fan and to be able to sing along.
Right now, if we could travel in past I will go to Brazil, wembley 2nd day, and any muster shows.
i remember when this dropped it took me 30 min to watch it fully cuz i was so excited! living through the hyyh era was so perfect i miss it so much our only concern was exols being bitches 😂 good ol times
FYI BigHit and BTS were not able to financially afford to have extras and so they used their hair stylist and managers cars in the part were they were in tunnel. 💜
Please react to BTS Jungkook my time
My favorite part of RUN will always be the "cry cry" part 😂✋
FAKE LOVE Is also part of the storyline in LOVE YOURSELF SERIES
Thanks for reacting to it though.
bapsae is one of my fav tracks
I like your conversation at the end. You casually are able to remember many songs of them.
I like you can sing daechwita but you stick to the English way to read it.
Please react to BTS Airplane pt 2
watching old bts mvs hurts my heart
Need to watch SAVE ME .
You're such a pretty girl, ARMY.
U go girl💜💜💜
Wings, TMBMIL eras will be always and forever be the best eras
bring Kendra again and react to BTS - 21st Century Girls. it's a song dedicated to girls. she will like this very much.
👀👀
i'll also recommend We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal, and Heartbeat.
ActionFredo my man I know you are a huge fan of R&B you need to hear V solo called Stigma live, there is no captions on that but there is a lyric video for it
i hope new armys dont focus only on title tracks & new stuff..they should watch older stuff too
So you guys are getting into the Bangtan Universe where the music videos are all connected.
I think is refreshing to see a baby army react ☺️
The BU, bts universe wow it's awesome but the story is really sad. Next time watch " i need you" mv original version. By the way I love you guys. We purple u💜
u gotta react to bts old stuff like bts - hip hop lover live ..a song that pays homage to hip hop culture
like u have no idea how hip hop that song is & their other old songs

I still wish that you finish react til the end. There is reason to it.
This is a story lines💜👍
I believe those high notes were from Jimin. This video is a vibe, I love the beat but it does hint at tragic events in the BU storyline. I just dove into that rabbit hole and I am massively sleep deprived right now. Also learning Korean.
