- Pokemon Competitive Singles has been turned on it's head with the release of the new DLC. Rillaboom fell to UU when it was first released with Home compatibility, largely due to the lack of access to Grassy Glide, it's best attack in Gen 8.
Grassy Glide has returned in Gen 9's new DLC and Rillaboom now has access to this important option once again. Even though it's been nerfed to only 55 Base Power, this important priority option has enhanced Rillaboom usage significantly.

From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on RUclips. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

Ironic this happens to every starter two shines while last one goes li'l fade
Scope lens sniper boosted snipe shot from Inteleon hits pretty hard. The issue is that it has so few high crit moves
Cinderace also has libero, which out of the three starters with protean/libero, is also by far the best user of the ability the game has seen so far.
Inteleon just has so few set up or coverage moves, and its cursed with being a bland special wallbreaker with too little bulk to withstand most priority moves. Truly the worst water starter of all time.
I fear what Iron Humorous may be able to do, and sincerely hope Great Dancer (past paradox Mr. Rime) can do something about it

It is said that the powerful dance move, Quiver Dance, is derived from a signature move known by Great Dancer. Hopefully it will be of huge help in this dire situation.

If you think Rillaboom is strong now, wait until the next dlc comes out. It's rumored this is where Rillaboom will reunite with its trusty steed, Iron Horse, from which it will gain the As One ability, allowing it to have Grassy Surge and Technician at the same time.

Iron Humorous actually has a bellow average stat distribution for the game it came out in. In generation 57. It's classed in RU in it's debut game.
Don't worry it has an above average movepool (7 moves)

I don’t understand why people aren’t talking about heatran dropping, it’s more of an ou staple than Garchomp, being in ou longer than it.
well yea technically since garchomp was ubers in gen 4 but then again... he was ubers in gen 4
Heatran is one of those legendaries that is better known for being excellent in the competitive game than for a stellar participation in the story arc of the games or anime. There are even people who question the legendary rank
while garchomp is an icon and a legend of the fourth generation due to the power of him presented in practically all training media in the saga and the community.

Because heatran is overrated and boring and there are other OU Pokemon to talk about which is probably more interesting
Rillaboom may have been not horrible beforehand, but when it uses its ability to make it funky monkey Friday and uses grassy glide, he goes absolutely insane

grassy terrain chip healing has become a lot more valuable in gen 9 with the healing move nerf
You mean how you don't get healing right before the terrain disappears?
@@DJPrimeAmvs no chip healing is gaining little bits of hp back during the match. Say you have an ogerpon you use as your main switchin for an opposing headlong rush and take 25% with no hazards up, you can only do this 3 times in a match, fainting on the fourth switchin. If you have grassy terrain up you'll be able to take that attack a 4th time due to the 6.25% heal you obtained. A pokemon without a healing move such as melmetal can use this + protect to get a lot of health back over the course of a game and serve as a viable defensive option despite not having recover.

I feel like in gen 8 the devs forgot that Grassy Terrain boosts the power of Grass type moves by 50% when they made Grassy Glide 70 base power plus most pokemon that would use Grassy Glide would be Grass type meaning STAB is also in the equation

I do like the resurgance of the non gen 3 content and while I do love the tier I have unfortunatly gotten a bit burnt out and or salty after my loss. Still a really amazing tournament though!

It's so wild that it's base power was PATCHED by an update. In Version 2.0.1 of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Grassy Glide's base power was reduced from 60 to 55, making it the only move whose base power was changed via a patch to a game. They can't keep the Monke down😅

Okay that got a big laugh out of me.
I recently decided that I want to participate more in the community by playing some current gen ou, as opposed to only playing gen 1-3 random battle and watching vids on pokemon. I went on the ou ladder with choice band rillaboom, and honestly I had a great time. I didn't win every match or anything, and honesty the team I had was riding on the back of gliscor and dondozo, but at the very least I didn't feel like I was simply overwhelming the opponent with powercreeped offense whilst still keeping strong in the game.
Balanced, I suppose, from my point of view.

iron humorous' gimmick is that despite the gigantic sp. atk stat, its only offensive special moves are Honk and Seltzer Squirt
Honk: 15 BP Normal move, sound based.
Seltzer Squirt: 10 BP Water move, 10% chance to flinch.
Tera Blast also becomes 10 BP if its special (which it always has to be, in this case)
Pokemon would probably do this then forget to disable tms on it and accidentally give it tbolt ice Beam flash cannon and psychic

Ever since Rillaboom got partnered with Hatsune Miku he's had the power of both god and anime on his side.

In other news, tornadus-t could rise back to ou next month due to regaining its most valuable move, knock off. (It was also really close to doing so.)
Similar to rillaboom, losing its one move that defined it in every gen it was in hit it hard. But now, tornadus-t is considered far more viable up here in OU with knock off, finally likely coming back to its home in the A ranks of OU again. Regen + knock off with all of torn-t's other strong moves absolutely make it the strong offensive utility beast it was before in gens 6/7/8, and now with knock off back its back to how it used to be. Tornadus-t is a pokemon that is truly the sum of its parts just like rillaboom, and seeing them both restored to their former glory brings a smile to my face.

fr tho it's definitely better w/ knock off but from what i've seen it doesn't fit that well into the breakneck-paced meta rn. it'll be better if things slow down or if it gets defog again but for now it's easily at its worst this gen.

Iron Humourous is overrated tbh. Its base 135 attack is completely wasted since he's a special attacker. It's really let down by a below-average HP stat as well so it takes a lot of damage from Seismic Toss and Night Shade despite its pretty decent 130 defense and good 1000 SpDef. Its most common set only uses Psychic as an attacking move, since coming off 1500 SpAtk it OHKOs most of the tier (what doesn't in gen9 amirite?), but as a result it's left as setup fodder for Kingambit, the best Pokemon in OU. It's true that 4-attack sets were very hard to switch into, but it performed a useful role in the meta (beating Stall) and you can always revenge kill it with CB Dragapult's Phantom Force so I don't really see the problem. Can't believe Smogon quickbanned it to Ubers - the OU council love stall and are completely out of touch with true gamers. Toxapex should've been banned instead tbh.
Rillaboom is my favorite grass type. My move set is Drum beating, Knock off, Acrobatics and trailblazer/drain punch

I dread to know what a 1562 Base Sp.ATK looks like with 31 IVs, 252 EVs, and a Modest/Calm nature.
since IVs and EVs always boost by the same amount no matter what the base stat was, at this point it honestly wouldn't make that much of a difference if you don't even invest anything
Neutral Base 1562 Special Attack would have 3160 Stats with 31 IV at level 100 Neutral
252 EV would be 3223
Possitive Nature would be 3545
1 Base Stats is 2 Actual Stats so its countable

Imo rillaboom as a sole support guy or a legit sweeper than “cheap wall breaker/revenge killer” made it OU worthy.
-bulk up trailblaze, last 2 between knock, a rare commodity att, terra fly Acro, terra fight drain punch
-other trailblazers are scary. Urshifu, terra steel 4 pieced dragapult between TB and SStrikes, zama, a guy who’s supposed to be bulky, gets relieved of a lil bit of chip w/ terrain. The ursalunas, and tusk: same situation as zama, plus headlong rush to cheat the terrain nerfing EQ, das dirty. And something any fire, steel, electric, rock guy appreciates until idk a non terra’d Garg eats a boosted wood hammer.
Edit: still best discount tapu, glide or no glide. Indeedee is a gimmick, and G Weez is too valuable, unless ur bold enough to make a duplicate team w/ Geezing misty surge and Evio koffing neut gas

i personally love running sash endeavor rillaboom to not get 1 hit by boost sweepers and then grassy gliding them out the salt is real xD

Ive been using a Bulky offense team with Rillaboom + AV Glowking, it works great, I take less than 40 from gliscor earthquake
just remember to use headlong rush on great tusk instead of earthquake if that mon is also on ur team!
