James McAvoy is a brilliant actor who played the part of Leto Atreides to perfection. He slew the part. Should have been nominated for an Emmy or Oscars for his scintillating performance.
Jessica's taking of the water of life when she was pregnant has driven Alia mad. Her demons have come out to haunt her and with Paul out of the way, there is no one left or powerful enough to restrain her or curb her ambitions.
She was overtaken by the persona of her uncle the Baron Harkonen she had no mental defense against his dominance. The twins were protected from such attacks by the personas of ther parents Paul and Channi
Princess Irulan used to be the enemy. Not anymore. Now she is a friend and a protector of the Atreides twins. Proving that in royal politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies. Only permanent interests. Which in this case is the protection of the Imperium and the consolidation of the works of Muad'Dib.
In this second episode, the focus shifts to the growing tensions surrounding the Atreides Empire and the political intrigues threatening the rule of Paul Atreides’ children. Paul’s twin heirs, Leto II and Ghanima, are central to the plot, as they continue to be manipulated by various factions vying for control. Alia, Paul’s sister, is struggling with the inner turmoil caused by the multitude of personalities she has absorbed, most notably that of her grandfather, Baron Harkonnen. Her descent into madness threatens her leadership, and conspiracies within the court deepen as she becomes more unstable. The twins, meanwhile, realize that they are being targeted for assassination, and their preternatural abilities, inherited from their father’s prescient vision, allow them to navigate these threats. Leto II begins to contemplate his eventual transformation into the God Emperor, a path that will forever change humanity. Throughout the episode, political machinations involving the noble houses, the Bene Gesserit, and the Tleilaxu intensify, setting the stage for major shifts in power as various characters plot to control or destroy the Atreides line. This episode sets up the crucial decisions Leto II will face regarding his destiny and the future of the empire.
I still can’t make up my mind if this series was good or not. Perhaps if I watch it as an alone show, untethered to actual Dune lore, it would be better.
très belle retranscription de la Saga DUNE , merci

Truly a shame that these versions weren't given a bigger budget, I like the news ones, but these sci-fi movies were better.
Agreed! This series tells the story better than the 1980s movie and the new movie and I tend to rewatch this one more than the others.
@@clintpot8521 May the spice Flo.
This adaption of Children of Dune is OK, it's good... But everything gets much more complex from this. Leto II is gonna rock your world.

Kids don't look anything like their father. I would request the DNA test.
The actor that plays Gurney is bad...
TERRIBLE. WAS MORE LIKE A SOAP OPERA.
