Arrh the memories come flooding back, working freight trains to Goulburn from Enfield. We would get relieved at Goulburn and spend the night in barracks and a work another freighter back to Enfield in the morning. I loved the sound of the GM loco's 421 and 422 classes.
I caught an Endeavour through there back to Central at about when this was filmed. I assume the driver was at the end of his shift because it was a wild ride after East Hills! We were constantly hitting the lateral bump stops on the suspension.
How central has changed and the Trains over the years...I loved the 4222..look at that driver comfort...
Best sounding train ever, what an engine it was
Fantastic video, hopefully one day a couple of 422's (or even 22's) will end up preserved

Thank you for posting this. The mighty 422. I never had the opportunity to see any of them in person when they were running.
I have seen 44204 and 06 shunting the track equipment when doing track work in the hunter valley
What a good cab rider, sounds great.
An iconic loco, and you captured the sound of it perfectly.
Thankyou Gentleman.
I have my LIMA train model of this, great vid btw.
Great video, thanks for posting.
Back when East Hills to Glenfied had 160km/h permitted, unlike now capped at 115km/h.
