  • Laminating is the best way to protect important documents. Use a lamination machine to create preserve photos, recipes and other fragile documents. Also use your laminator for creating crafts, educational tools, office and home organizers and more. Here are some tips for using your Fellowes laminator to get the best results.
    1. Turn on your laminator and wait for the long beep. This indicates that the laminator has warmed up and is ready to go.
    2. Insert your document into the laminating pouch. Make sure the document fits to the seam of the pouch.
    3. For documents that require image protection, use ImageLast Laminating Pouches to prevent fading.
    4. Use the guides on the laminator to determine exactly where to insert your document.
    5. Never trim the laminating pouch before laminating.
    6. If the document becomes jammed in the machine, press the release/reverse button to eject the document.
    7. Laminator jams typically occur because of misfeeds. Be sure to insert your document properly to prevent jams.
    8. For laminating multiple documents, use a Fellowes laminator with AutoSense. This feature will automatically detect pouch thickness and adjust to the optimal setting.
    9. After laminating a document, you can trim it to the desired size or shape.
    10. Regularly use the cleaning sheets that come with your laminator. This essential tool keeps the rollers clean and maintains the machine performance over time.
Which Lamiantor is Best for My Needs?
Choose a lamination machine based on how much you laminate. If you laminate occasionally at home, then a small personal laminator will be adequate.
If you laminate regularly at your home office or work, a small office or home office laminator delivers more lasting performance.
Heavy-duty laminators are another option if there is frequent laminating at your workplace. Commercial laminators are more robust and are designed to hold up to daily laminating usage.
What Laminating Pouches Should I Use?
Choose laminating pouches based on your laminating project. Thicker pouches offer more rigidity and strength. Select 5-mil or thicker for posters, ID cards or flash cards.
Thinner laminating pouches offer more flexibility. Select 3 mil pouches for business cards or badges.
    Using Laminating Templates
Laminating templates are already designed and ready to laminate. You can use templates to create classroom tools like flash cards or dry erase worksheets. There are templates for creating to do lists or customized calendars. You can create games for the kids or fun seasonal crafts using the free templates available on the Fellowes Idea Center.

When it is laminated with this film "Fellowes ImageLast laminating pouch", the film sticks to the paper leaving everything sealed, or does it only form an edge that sticks with the other side of the film?
