Love this video! Wanted to be a plumber when I first watched your videos my freshman year of high school. Now i graduated back in May and now going to communtiy college for HVAC and Welding! Thank you so much Roger! I would have never known how great the trades are without you!
As it has been said, HVAC/R is King. We do welding, plumbing, electrical, etc. Yes, your trades have been around longer, but we make you comfortable and keep your food safe. 😊
I master a mechanical company and I do all the above. Plumbing makes the most $. It never stops
My hvac guys don’t even braze properly
Going into my 3rd year of plumbing, would love to learn some welding but never leaving this trade. Most versatile trade with so many different types of work/jobs out there. It’s the best
plumber on top. started my plumber education 3 weeks ago and it's the best.
Same just started my plumbing and pipe fitting class this week
Either way, working for yourself in a trade is king. Biggest check I got was a 20 comma. Knocked out 6 groundworks with water and sewer connections in a week. Dead tired at the end but nothing like setting your price and keeping profit.
Roger I’m a police officer in a big city in tx and I’m about to quit to pursue a plumbing license. I’m so excited. I’m 31 years young and tired of looking at my kids and wondering if I will see them again
Thank you for the service you provide in protecting us everyday. You will continue that in plumbing! Good switch good luck to you sir 👍🏼
Im a maintenance technician at a steel manufacturing plant. All Im gonna say, I have to fix a lot of stuff for weldors. Their machines, their grinders, their over head cranes. For all they claim to fix, they sure do break a lot of stuff. How much stuff do you break Rodger?
Love these type of videos! Need one with plumber vs hvacr
Coming soon!
I’d say Fitters are the king of the trades. I am an apprentice but what I see so far welders complain always have a headache and settle for semi par welds. Welding is one trade I want to obtain too but fitting is where I am at right now
Welding is not a trade it is a skill set. Plumbers, Pipefitters, Iron workers, Sheetmetal, Boilermakers ext. all utilize welding in different applications of their trade and can and do become certified welders. But they are a tradesman first and then become certified welders. Welding is not a trade it is a skill within a trade..
It's a trade
No, it is not a trade. It is a skill set used in several actual trades requiring different certifications for the application the skill is being utilized for.@@DolphinPain
Been waiting on this
Which team are you on?
Debating between plumbing, welding, or sheet metal
I’m a pipe welder and plumber . I am a refinery and power plant pipe welder . I would say WELDERS run the world .
Do you use your plumbers license or skills as a welder does it give you higher paying opportunities for a specialty skill set or not really
It's not the money, but if you enjoy the work that's lasting.
If you think about it we all need both
Hey Roger Wakefield can you make a video about why is the construction trade is the best one to get into?
Which construction trade in particular? I've made a couple of them
@@RogerWakefield new construction vs commercial or residential construction
Try this…I hope it helps, I have a few more, but you’re right I need more videos on this

Hey Roger Wakefield I watched the other video I learned something out of it thank you for your help man!
Nice
Im 43 this year. Army dude, BS degree, now im entering the trades for another check Lord willing.
I gotta say I think carpenter is the first trade, making houses even before plumbing was a thing
Plumbing - sewage in particular, has been around since before people were using wood to build houses
Carpenters. Widest scope of work (we weld too). Builds the backbone of all our infrastructure. Second most employed trade (laborers are #1). Ask yourself, would you rather have a running water or a home. If you choose running water whats it running to? Case closed. In all seriousness, it is incredible to think how all the trades come together to accommodate all our needs. At the end of the day its all necessary, its all hard work. And how effectively those needs are met and how productive that hard work is comes down to how well the different trades can work together.
plumbers. Everyone needs one.
Plumbers do welding every day. PVC pipes are welded, not glued.
🤔🤔 interesting
@@RogerWakefield I could be mistaken, but it's my understanding that PVC cement, when used with a primer chemically welds the pipe and hub together. This is why primer is so important, because it softens the surfaces to accept the molecular bonding, much in the same way as heat during a weld. The end result is a single bonded polymer, just as two pieces of steel when welded become one
But, eh, I could be wrong
Both wrong, it's HVAC because we do it all.
Iuec member here: i dont buy regular toilet paper anymore i just go to the plumbers hall and grab some apprenticeship applications (lol)
The tool maker is king, without him nobody is working.
Why not both?
This one’s real simple. If you stay at home the plumber is the king of trades. If you hit the road, the welder is.
It's the a and p
30 years in the trade many of them plumbing high rise hotels and casinos in Las Vegas, along with residential, light commercial and industrial, if it needs plumbing I have plumbed it, with that being said I will never claim that I know it all, remember there's always new tech coming , so keep an open mind and keep up with the times, One more thing TEACH the apprentices, teach them not only the application process but explain to them the reason its done that way or why it has to be done a certain way, one thing I have seen that has become a common practice is a person is shown how to do one aspect of the entire trade IE how to run gas piping or waste and vent if your a beginner dont let this happen to you , insist on learning all aspects of the trade.
I need water more…no water, no drinking, toilet, no washing hands, showering
PIPEFITTERS THAT ARE WELDERS ...no plumber can do what a pipefitter can do but a pipefitter can do what they do lmao & the best welds are fitted by the best Fitter and set up for them welders
See I’m not lien that money real
I would of
Brought a paystub to show 😂
How much can make a plumer after taxes? Sorry for my english.
Plumber's just getting out of trade school can make up to $50,000 a year...the good ones...TWICE as much
I have a plumbing question but why does my tub water get hot a lot quicker then my sink 2ft away????
Cos it pulls a lot more water so it reaches it faster
@@josephchiavetta6361 yeah but my tub gets hot within a few seconds and my sink it takes one or two minutes. Is there anything I can do to make it better?
Bwahahahaha plumber can’t bite his nails
That's funny. Plumber is the biggest insult u can give in my union. The plumbers call themselves pipe fitters and try to hide the fact they are plumbers. Haha
Sounds like those plumbers need a pep talk! What union are you in?
Plumber vs gardener
plumber
#1: Electrician
#2: HVAC
#3: Plumber
You couldn't pay me enough to weld. Hell's no.
Welding barely makes it to the top 3 in my opinion, it’s gotta be plumbing/electricians/ and concrete-rebar
Rap battle!
Welding machines dont work without the electricians...
Welders are very angry people. Some of them. Mainly all of them.
Electrician
HAHAHAHAHAHA
The handy Handyman is king. 😉 Sorry to have to tell you.
HAHAHA... this made me chuckle
@@RogerWakefield In all seriousness I know my place, but I’m the one who will unclog an ol lady’s sink for a basket of green beans and shovel snow for cookies and coffee. It counts for something.
@@RogerWakefielddefinate difference between a handyman and plumber.
No I’m right there with you, I just like to give the bad handymen a hard time…not everyone is like that. Keep doing good work sir 👍🏼😎
Turn the fuckin music off GOLLY!
Sorry about that
His audio sucks
