Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below! Remember that you can download the example floor plan at www.thecgessentials.com/floorplan !
Great job on your tutorials, even when i jump out of my chair every time you begin with "whatup guys, this is ..." :) Everything well explained when there is a new addon or if there is an update. Learned a lot with your videos. Thanks
When I brought my door in, it came in really small, unlike yours, which came in as the exact size of the doorway opening. How do I make it come in the proper size? My Blender also doesn't show the borders between the different faces in object mode, only in edit mode. But I cannot access the create panel in edit mode
That happened to me. But then I realized I build my model with the wrong proportions. In my case I used centimeters instead of millimeters. So my model was 10x bigger than it should, making the door 10x smaller. Hope that helps.
Hi guys! What could one do if they needed to snap the door in 2:20 to the edges/vertex of the wall, eliminating any overlapping in the walls and the door? I tried scaling and snapping, the window snaps but the window shrinks in size. What could be the problem here guys?
Just want to thank you big time for these tutorials. Also I have a question. Right now I only have a tablet and pen which I'm using as my mouse. I don't know how to remap the tablet's buttons, but I was seeing if there is any alternate way to do the "Select Heirarchy" and the copying of the windows and doors, as I don't have a working right mouse click. - Thanks in advance
when I add an object from archimesh and try to edit another object, and when I go back to edit the archimesh object that I have installed such as changing the door model, the object shrinks back to the size I originally added. is there any way to keep the size and position fixed? I hope this helps, thank you
Since you wanted to use archimesh (I have no problem with that) why didn't you use it to create walls in the first part as well? In this way you didn't have to make these walls and cut them to make the openings for doors and windows. Now if you want to show beginners how to make these walls without an addon this is fine, but I believe you should show them how to do it in Archimesh again and then how to add the windows and doors by the addon as you did here, so the complete workflow for the Addon is explained. I appreciate your effort to make these tutorials but the workflow is something that you have to consider. Thank you.
@@TheCGEssentials oh yeah, I tried using that for walls once and it was a disaster 😅 mostly cause of the baseboards thing and it felt less structured for that part of the model
Thanks for this video, I really like all the videos you post about Blender. Quick question on Archimesh, I’ve added windows and doors to my model like in your video, but when I go to render mode the empties and bounding boxes appear in the render mode. This happens with both Evee and Cycles. Is that normal?
@@TheCGEssentials They don't show up in the final render, just the viewport. Thanks for the tip. It's still weird that they show up in render viewport, anyway to turn that off?
You do this too fast, I know YOU know what you're doing but I don't lol, so I know you are not keeping that in mind most likely. I have watched part 1 five times now, I get the jest of it however I'm writing down the hotkeys you use, still don't know how you get to the "edit" mode on the scale line as you are not saying. I am waiting on another PC with a much better processor to actually start using the software but for now just taking in as much as I can. My main focus with this is to assemble a hotel design I designed in other software, but want to use the floorplan here in Blender to ultimately be able to use Twinmotion for life-like rendering. Thanks for the tutorial, but I wish you'd slowed it down somewhat for those that has never worked with blender before.

question, im looking at this, and love the tutorial, but did we every talk about getting the simple clay rendering like in the thumbnail?

Man I spent hours looking up why archimesh was not showing up in my view port, you have to be in object mood.
You're great! Thanks from Italy...

Thanks for watching!
Thieves must be very happy with your house with openings all outside and not on the inside xD
Can you make a living using blender like this? Great tutorials sir!
Awsome tut thank you you're on my top 10 list for watching tut's and I pass on your YT Channel well done
Awesome. Thank you!
This was really helpful , thank you so much!
How do you find out the correct height of the floorplan?
Is there a similar add-in to Archimesh for common types of building furniture; desks, chairs, tables?
god bless you
thank you gave me a great knowledge .. hope you where used some zooming for blenders parts my eyes soo week😁

Oh yeah I subbed
why don't you put the cursor at the bottom of the window / door instead of putting it at the top and then dropping it down ?
how can i get the door and window panel options?

Someone helped me figure it out, it was the ctrl+p and then choosing clear and keep transform that way the dimension does not change.

How does one make the panels of the rail window above each other instead of beside one another?
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the tutorials! But I am unable to hide the door in my viewport. Any idea how to and/or why this is? Windows are disappearing when hiding.
What HDR are you using in the video?
which blender version you are using can you pls pls send me the download link ?
why when your render it or you dont like why it looking soo good why dont i have it in blender is it like new blender?(version)
Hye . I wanna know . Van we use a Sketchup 3d wearhouse models in blender ?
I wasnt able to get the door to snap to the center of the frame. Not sure how yours snapped like that?
where is the "In" key located on the keyboard?
Would anyone know why my doors and windows look like thick blocks in the rendered view?
hey, thanks for your video - I have a question though, Why my glass window is not transparent?
Did you apply a transparent material?
@@TheCGEssentials thanks - I found it (I am a beginner) took me a while but I found it
@@thejoto How do you get and add a transparent material to the windows?
@@thejotoi also am wondering what you did
Nvm, I figured out that i just needed to change my render engine to cycles. The window is already transparent

Because I don't like the way Archimesh adds walls? Feel free to do it that way if you want

Why do my objects rotate when I make changes to them?
i ask myself the same, send me your discord if u wanna pass tips between us
How do you change the colour of the handle?
Cool... !
:)
11:10 glass to travel through the light?
Light is not going through my windows
My glass is not being transparent... please help
Are you in material preview mode?
@@TheCGEssentials I think i found why. Find our rending options and select "Cycles" as the Render Engine instead of "Eevee"!

Do they show up in the final render? (Not the viewport render)

For some reason, once I adjust the size of my window, I can't move it. I can still scale it, but it doesn't move.
make sure you select the entire hierarchy by right clicking
Would be pretty cool if you'd actually finish this house....
where is the roof?
