"A beautiful love letter to everything that came before it." she says. First of all Movies are supposed to be stories, not "love letters" to other movies - the entire thing is completely meta, it has scenes that evoke the other movies - it's more like a dour, miserable funeral for starwars then a love letter. Secondly WTF everyone in the resistance is a complete idiot in TLJ. Holdo, Poe, Finn, Rose, Luke and even rey make stupid decisions with disastrous consequences. Holdo not telling poe the plan. Poe sending Finn and Rose out instead of more seasoned agents (and without weapons?). Everyone in the resistance is going to die but Maz has to stay home over a 'labor dispute'. Finn and Rey nearly blow the mission over parking in the wrong spot, then hire a codebreaker who betrays them, etc. All stupid, pointless decisions.

@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi She was talking about the The Clone Wars *movie. She said movie right after TCW, fyi. There's a movie made for it and it is considered the weakest of the entire saga, I don't necessarily disagree, even though I personally love the movie they made for the show, but I do agree it was too early to make a movie for TCW at that time. Still worth watching, especially after you finish the entire show. Means so much more in the aftermath! :)

There's nothing wrong with her. People like to read into stuff too much online either that or they are too dense and miss the point completely or a little bit of both.
She did say it was a controversial opinion after all. So, give her that at least. She's self-aware and isn't acting above anyone with her opinions. She even said that's her opinion. The beauty of Star Wars is that we can have discussions and debates, no need to shut anyone down for having something that differs from your own personal opinion on fictional entertainment.

There's nothing wrong with her, you're reading waay too much into it, bud. There was very clearly a solid amount of laughter at 1:10, the first time she said it. And in 3:40, Sam quipped back and it was again, clearly all in good fun. And lastly, in 3:50 she said it a 2nd and final time and there was still some laughter if you listen closely. She only said it twice and it's again just fooling around. I know and have seen MANY fans say this and it's all just jokes at the end of the day. Do you understand what sarcasm is? She was being sarcastic and wasn't being obnoxious about it. She even said, at 4:36 "We've been waiting!!" to the fans as yet another joke, but self-deprecating in a sense, that they were waiting for someone to finally share to them a favorite SW movie that's not TLJ. It's pretty obvious. People like to read into stuff too much online either that or they are too dense and miss the point completely or a little bit of both.

See my problem is this, episode 7 wasn’t bad, it was a good start, it gave you what seemed to be good and compelling characters (minus Rey) and was setting something up but then 8 came out and ruined what could have been, I thought that Finn would have been like a Kyle Katarn character and learn the way of the force, and then 9 could have been great but it spent most of its screen time fixing what episode 8 screwed up, it just saddens me that what we got is well, final. It doesn’t feel right

@@Inkbud I mean he did not have to retcon TLJ, it could have easily gone the direction of making Kylo the main villain without him having to redeem himself like Vader's arc in episode 6. The movie was very messy and despite TLJ being controversial, there was plenty to work with and make a cohesive movie, not try to jam two movies worth of content into one. 2, 8, and 9 are my personal least favorites as well.

@@willfield9881 I know many decent ST fans who truly love and cherish the Star Wars saga, even TLJ fans who completely understand why people don't like it and why there's many problems with it. I don't think you understand that just because someone likes something, they don't believe it to be completely void of any flaws whatsoever and even if someone believes that so? As long as they're not being jerks about it (unlike that female moderator in this video hehe) and are willing to listen to polite arguments and respond back politely without belittling, then what's so bad about that? All art is subjective, everyone has their own opinions on entertainment. Many ST fans are decent, normal people who simply just like what they like, understand that there's even flaws to what they like (just as there's many flaws with everything else, nothing is perfect) and aren't being total jerks about it. I know there's a lot of ST fans out there who are the exact opposite, but don't let those crazy twitter/social media in general folk cloud your vision. Millions of people enjoyed the Sequels and millions of people don't. The overwhelming majority are decent, normal human beings. Social media is but a fraction.

i like last jedi for different reasons. kylos going through his bit of trauma and snoke bashing him for losing in the last film, i actually like the reveal that rey is no one and just a survivalist who happens to be force sensitive, i liked the tensions between poe and holdo. the first half of scenes with rey and luke.
my dislikes were luke throwing his fathers saber over his shoulder, the discussion is the last time he saw it his father cut his hand off with it which probably gave him trauma, but i still disagree because its played out for laughs. reys mystery being dragged out only to be revealed she is no one. fins arc being shoved to the side. from the last film i wanted to see fin and rey become a jedi. luke banishing himself for considering killing ben out of fear. luke banishing himself in general goes against everything the original trilogy established because why wouldnt he want to help his sister regardless of what he has done.
all in all even with its flaws its still watchable compared to tros. i think that film becomes to fan servicy that it flat out destroys the entire franchise. i think that one is the worst. tlj couldve been salvaged even after what its done but tros incinerates everything it stood by. from bring back palpatine to ben solos death and rey taking the skywalker name and banishing herself to not train the next jedi.

I love the originals because the started it all, We got to fall in love with people like Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Vader, etc. watch fantastic fights of its times, vehicles like the T-65 X-Wing, the Tie Fighter, the AT-AT, etc. I could go in about this.
But my favorite episode is Episode 1: I love that because I always wanted to know why the Republic fail, and how the Sith came to be. Episode one went to show that the government was to blame. Slow moving, unreliable, even the Jedi who were praised in the originals were shown to be nothing more than Monks with a stick. Trying to mediate the galaxies problems and getting nowhere.
My least is the Sequels. I’ll be honest just watching them was like getting a gut punch. It could have been done a lot better. I love legends and the expanded universe and to see that there is no mention of Mara, Jaina, Anakin Solo, or any of the stuff that was brought up in the comics and books. It’s like JJ, went and created a whole new timeline. Maybe I’m over thinking this but like I said, I’m not saying the direction was a bad one, but.....it could have been better made. Or at least with the timeline established.

I'm with her. When I saw TLJ all I got was a ton of thoughtful affection for Star Wars, what it was, is, and might become. We got to see Luke reflect on his own life and legacy. We got to see him struggle and grow, even as a master. We got to see Leia use the force---a promise kept from Episode VI---and it was badass. We also got to see more of her mature personality: her quiet command of a room, in contrast to her sharp and imperial tone in the original series. We got to see Kylo finally have his own thoughtful and sympathetic ambitions. We got to see Rey hope, fail, and find tranquility in accepting herself. We got to see Po get both a 3rd dimension and a full character arc.
I was blown away. It was much more than I'd hoped for after TFA.

Whether they would remain fully conscious past thirty seconds is a different question. But if you really think that Leia surviving ~90 seconds in the vacuum of space is so implausible, then I recommend you not watch space operas to begin with. In Star Wars, force sensitives jump as high as small buildings, fall even greater distances, get cut in half, survive full-body burns and multiple amputation, extended electrocution, and run literally at a blur --- and that's not even counting the powers which are just straight up magic. It's the sort of thing that can happen in this universe.
