In Jan 2016, I was in very bad state due to financial problems, health issues (hyper tension - Blood pressure was 111 177), addictions(smoking, alcohol, lust, porn), etc - I went on my knees and cried out to GOD to help me. And I heard a voice in my mind. The Holy Spirit spoke to me while I was praying on my knees. To tell you the truth I was not expecting GOD would answer. I thought that happened only for really pious or religious people who are into prayers and fastings. But when the Holy Spirit spoke to me that night, GOD became real to me an thus started the process of me reading the Bible more to know about the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The problems also got resolved and now I'm free of all addictions.

If Satan cannot read people's thoughts then he must be omnipresent, being around each and everyone, monitoring their acts and talks. But Job 1:7 said Satan "going to and fro in the earth" meaning he is definitely NOT omnipresent!!!

But also depends on our parents life style, and later our life styles. The devils and demons thoughts interceptions are like: "I am sick or feel sick", "I want or need more food, money etc ", "I need a smoke", " I don't feel good", " I think I have cancer" (Then the "doctor" will confirm it), or many things like that. And as result we can see people smoking, do drugs, over eat, people confused, suffering, sick, etc... How do we know that? There is one example in scripture where Satan had the opportunity to show he can read minds and failed to do so. Its often overlooked when it comes to this subject and it's Daniel 2. King Nebuchadnezzar summons his magicians, sourcerers, and enchanters (aka people who inquire of from demons), to interpret a dream he had. They asked him to reveal the dream so they can interpret it, but the king doesn't, hence they cannot interpret the dream. The demons were unable to make the dream known to the Chaldeans because they were unable to read the mind of the king.

I know that Satan and the demons can tell when a person has the Holy Spirit in them and they don’t like it. I encountered a person I’m pretty sure was possessed at my last job. She came into my office and sat down. I had never met her before but as soon as I looked up and saw her I got goosebumps. She literally stared me down and her movements were jerky and very unnatural. She said there was a teacher (I was the school nurse) that she wanted to kill, but that she couldn’t talk to me. I was feeling sick to my stomach and scared. She tried to shut my door. I said, no, get up and took her to the principal. I was not dealing with that. I almost had to go home I felt so sick after that encounter. I don’t ever want to run across someone or something like that again. I carry a Bible everywhere now. I have one in my car, my work bag.
Sorry if I'm late on this, but that is very concerning that a person like that is out in the public. If you have a gut feeling about someone, whether it's a gross feeling or just overall a very negative dark energy you are sensing on them, you better listen to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. My gut feeling on people (through the Holy Spirit communicating to me) usually ends up being right. Put on the armor of God the Father and stay strong and calm at all times. He shall cover thee with his feathers and guide us. For we are his sheep, and he, our shepherd.
That's my point. There is NO scripture showing that Satan speaks to us in first person. Even if he does, he has bigger fish to fry than the average person, as his demons are busy following his orders, regarding most people. I love this teacher. On this subject however I'm not sure if he's quite right. I thought it was our spirits that had been sealed, it's that which has the indwelling of God, it's that which is now perfect, it's that which can now no longer be tainted and it is the first part of us to be fully saved (and already redeemed). It's then a life-long process of renewing our minds and bodies according to what we now know to be true in our spirits. Our minds and bodies are yet to be redeemed, we are yet to receive our glorified minds and bodies. We won't get them until the next life. This is why it's still possible for those who are saved and in the process of being redeemed, to have vile thoughts in our minds and do sinful things with our bodies. Aren't we still able to respond to the devil with our minds? If we weren't he wouldn't bother. When if fact we know he continues to attack believers in an attempt to minimise their faith so they are of no use to unbelievers (and may even manage to get some to give away their faith and end up with a reprobate mind).

Yes they can. Also, saying Satan did not know about the crucification was not a good example; only God and Jesus knew; and they are protected from that ability of Satan to know they're thoughts. Spiritual circumcision happens when we are saved - our spiritual nature is then inhabited by the Holy Spirit, and no demon can inhabit it. However, it is circumcised from our flesh nature, which is the part which will cause us to keep sinning, even though we wish not to - that flesh nature can be inhabited by demons, including those of saved Christians.

Mine reached the extent where I would see horrific faces in the darkness of my bedroom whenever I started to pray to God. I also had to use the name of Jesus because if I just used the words Lord God, another voice would add the Pope at the end, making the prayer addressed to the Lord God the Pope instead. I also could not just use the words Lord only because that very same voice would add Satan after that making the prayer addressed to Lord Satan instead which was what I really did not want. I agree the Holy Spirit protects a Christian's mind, but I don't think that's the case with the non-believer. In the verse in Matthew about the parable of the sower and the seed, it referred to Satan snatching the message of the Gospel from a person's heart. It says "and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up." (Matt 13:4). So it appears the enemy can read the thoughts and affect the thinking of non-Christians.

That's not mind reading. The devil is watching you, and he knows what you've done. He knows what your secrets are that you don't tell anyone else, but it doesn't mean he can read your mind. Note that "the devil" doesn't necessarily refer to Lucifer exclusively, but to "the devil and his minions" as a collective.

Dr Barnett you touched on a question I had but it was a tangent so you didn’t really answer it for me. Can a person willfully sin and still be saved? You spoke of the enemy’s “fiery darts” and “the grieving and then quenching of The Holy Spirit.” Then someone asked you how long God would allow a Christian to go on like that. You never answered that. Can you lose your Salvation over this, or is this what is meant by Grace and “have mercy on me a hopeless sinner” and Paul’s saying “I do that which I wish not to do and am at war against my flesh continually (paraphrase)” and the fact that King David and Paul too were the worst of sinners yet were “a man after God’s own heart” and the “greatest Apostle,” respectively. It’s clear that God uses such people precisely to show us that none are beyond His reach and His ability to Save. Is that the message for a Christian who is currently covered in sin? Or is being covered in sin evidence that you were never Saved to begin with? Can a true Christian so struggle under the weight of current, ongoing, willful sin ... that (s)he is not Saved or never was to begin with?

An example of satans ability to influence us. One day I was in a store looking for an item on the shelves. As I passed a product I suddenly had an extremely strong urge to steal it. I stood there and argued with myself, I had no use for it, I didn't want it, etc but nothing worked. Then I took a step back and the urge was gone. Then God said to me, "this is what some people have to live with everyday in their lives" and He told me that there was an evil spirit/demon attached to that location. I prayed over the spot and left, educated as to why people sometimes do things they later can't understand why, and how others live under this influence 24/7 and have given into it.

We have to renew our minds with the word of God.
There is one example in scripture where Satan had the opportunity to show he can read minds and failed to do so. Its often overlooked when it comes to this subject and it's Daniel 2.
King Nebuchadnezzar summons his magicians, sourcerers, and enchanters (aka people who inquire of from demons), to interpret a dream he had. They asked him to reveal the dream so they can interpret it, but the king doesn't, hence they cannot interpret the dream.
The demons were unable to make the dream known to the Chaldeans because they were unable to read the mind of the king.

I know that Satan and the demons can tell when a person has the Holy Spirit in them and they don’t like it. I encountered a person I’m pretty sure was possessed at my last job. She came into my office and sat down. I had never met her before but as soon as I looked up and saw her I got goosebumps. She literally stared me down and her movements were jerky and very unnatural. She said there was a teacher (I was the school nurse) that she wanted to kill, but that she couldn’t talk to me. I was feeling sick to my stomach and scared. She tried to shut my door. I said, no, get up and took her to the principal. I was not dealing with that. I almost had to go home I felt so sick after that encounter. I don’t ever want to run across someone or something like that again. I carry a Bible everywhere now. I have one in my car, my work bag.
Sorry if I'm late on this, but that is very concerning that a person like that is out in the public. If you have a gut feeling about someone, whether it's a gross feeling or just overall a very negative dark energy you are sensing on them, you better listen to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. My gut feeling on people (through the Holy Spirit communicating to me) usually ends up being right. Put on the armor of God the Father and stay strong and calm at all times. I love this teacher. On this subject however I'm not sure if he's quite right. I thought it was our spirits that had been sealed, it's that which has the indwelling of God, it's that which is now perfect, it's that which can now no longer be tainted and it is the first part of us to be fully saved (and already redeemed). It's then a life-long process of renewing our minds and bodies according to what we now know to be true in our spirits. Our minds and bodies are yet to be redeemed, we are yet to receive our glorified minds and bodies. We won't get them until the next life. This is why it's still possible for those who are saved and in the process of being redeemed, to have vile thoughts in our minds and do sinful things with our bodies. Aren't we still able to respond to the devil with our minds? If we weren't he wouldn't bother. When if fact we know he continues to attack believers in an attempt to minimise their faith so they are of no use to unbelievers (and may even manage to get some to give away their faith and end up with a reprobate mind).

Yes they can. Also, saying Satan did not know about the crucification was not a good example; only God and Jesus knew; and they are protected from that ability of Satan to know they're thoughts. Nobody else knew either at that time, so there was nobod's thoughts to read that would have delivered that intel to Satan. The rest of us, here on Earth, yes the devils, angels and Satan can read your thoughts, which is different than knowing our Hearts. Example would be telepathy, mind reading. When in public I have rebuked them in my mind and they flee, except once when they refused and said they had a legal right to the premises because it was a mans home and it was his will that gave them occupancy. They did flee to the outward edges though until I left, they would not come into the main room i was in.

Spiritual circumcision happens when we are saved - our spiritual nature is then inhabited by the Holy Spirit, and no demon can inhabit it. However, it is circumcised from our flesh nature, which is the part which will cause us to keep sinning, even though we wish not to - that flesh nature can be inhabited by demons, including those of saved Christians.
Satan can't do anything outside of help from other people. He can implants thoughts in your mind but he can't read your mind. I wouldn't be so worried about Satan as I would other people that easily play the devil's advocate.

Mine reached the extent where I would see horrific faces in the darkness of my bedroom whenever I started to pray to God. I also had to use the name of Jesus because if I just used the words Lord God, another voice would add the Pope at the end, making the prayer addressed to the Lord God the Pope instead. I also could not just use the words Lord only because that very same voice would add Satan after that making the prayer addressed to Lord Satan instead which was what I really did not want. Very annoying! Is anyone else facing a problem like this? I had to pray repeatedly just to make sure that I was able to connect correctly to God. I tend to pray softly or voicelessly

I agree the Holy Spirit protects a Christian's mind, but I don't think that's the case with the non-believer. In the verse in Matthew about the parable of the sower and the seed, it referred to Satan snatching the message of the Gospel from a person's heart. It says "and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up." (Matt 13:4). So it appears the enemy can read the thoughts and affect the thinking of non-Christians.
I am counseling a DMT user. I am convinced, due to 100% of users claiming the same experience (Thought to be impossible) that when they "die" and commune with a being who enlightens them and they claim they are never the same again, the are receiving it from a demon.
devil is a master at reading people in terms of their personalities, characters etc. he seeds this thoughts of guilt, anger and feer in us and waits for our respond to that, and then he starts this vicous cycle in us that goes deeper and deeper. 90% of the population is catched in this cycle, most of them doesnt even realise that, because devil doesnt atack you when you are in this cycle, he atacks when you are trying to escape it, and the most important thing is to NOT give up and just push that gate until it breaks and you will be free in Jesus Name!
Satan presents suggestions to us as we go through our days. He sees opportunities for corruption.

1) There is a demon called "spirit of forgetfulness", therefore obviously demons can hear our thoughts. 2) There are demons that can give satanic words of knowledge. 3) Mark 4:15 - "These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them. | How can satan "take away the word" from our minds if he does not know what exists inside in the first place.

The devil can read our thoughts. Look at Ecc 10:20. When someone asks, "How do you know?" It is from this Scripture that we get get the answer, "A little birdie told me." Devil, fallen angels, live in a different realm than us. How could a bird tell someone the secrets of your thoughts or words spoken in your private chamber? All our secrets are known to the devil. Here the verse does not mention 'he can read our minds', but our secrets which we only know can be known by the devil. Thats why he tempts people based on their weakness or secret thoughts.
The only protection we have is to obey the Holy Spirit.
That's not mind reading. The devil is watching you, and he knows what you've done. He knows what your secrets are that you don't tell anyone else, but it doesn't mean he can read your mind. Note that "the devil" doesn't necessarily refer to Lucifer exclusively, but to "the devil and his minions" as a collective.
Mark Cherian I pretty.much agree with what you say. I think he speaks into our ear, and bombards our minds with evil thoughts, if we submit, he knows we have heard him and will increase his attacks. That's why the bible says to resist the devil and his evil thoughts and he will flee.

Dr Barnett you touched on a question I had but it was a tangent so you didn’t really answer it for me. Can a person willfully sin and still be saved? You spoke of the enemy’s “fiery darts” and “the grieving and then quenching of The Holy Spirit.” Then someone asked you how long God would allow a Christian to go on like that. You never answered that. Can you lose your Salvation over this, or is this what is meant by Grace and “have mercy on me a hopeless sinner” and Paul’s saying “I do that which I wish not to do and am at war against my flesh continually (paraphrase)” and the fact that King David and Paul too were the worst of sinners yet were “a man after God’s own heart” and the “greatest Apostle,” respectively. It’s clear that God uses such people precisely to show us that none are beyond His reach and His ability to Save. Is that the message for a Christian who is currently covered in sin? Or is being covered in sin evidence that you were never Saved to begin with? Can a true Christian so struggle under the weight of current, ongoing, willful sin ... that (s)he is not Saved or never was to begin with?

He can if you belong to him or walk in disobedience. If a person belongs to him by way of not been saved, then Satan dwells in that person and absolutely knows his or her thoughts simply because he plants those thoughts. This also goes for a Christian backslider who willingly choses to rebel against Gods counsel. A backsider is not allowing God to control thoughts. Its very basic. Either we let Jehovah and Christ in or Satan and his demons. Scripture constantly warns us and councils us on these.

Yes, he can. I have experienced this, Thinking to myself, bragging how I was able to resist temptation, the very second I finished thinking this, I heard in my right ear, impressed on my audible nerves, : I got something for ya." And I thought, huh, wonder what that was, and passed on and forgot it. Wasn't on guard and what followed was a trap the was set that I fell into. And am still, after almost nineteen years, suffering the consequences of it. I have long since repented of it, but am still being assailed bu satan for it. So yes, he can, this was proof of it.
